Lore:
An inscription in royal script:

For a hero of all the ages
In whose heart justice rages
Pure of spirit with steadfast will
The sight of him puts evil still

Ever a rider of the storms
To the wavering he oft warns:
'Do not falter! Do not fail!
Believe in goodness; it will prevail!'

We honor this great paladin of days
To mend and prevail o'er evil's ways
Faraday was our finest defender
One of the first to wield the fiery avenger

This sword and sometimes other weapons or items with lore attached usually have a solemn meaning behind them.

In the case of this sword, Faraday Stormrider (the actual person behind the player) passed away some time ago, and they left this as a sort of memorial. Others in the forms of NPCs and items are also remembered this way.

This item seems to be at least as rare as The Guardian's Pouch, which is listed as rare.

Why would this sword have a slot 8 Augment slot while the other items from his loot table have slot 7s?

it is a weapon and the other items aren't , weapons are usually slot type 4 or 8 (9 for DoN and 30 for 2.5)

Dmg bonus is 53 instead of 50 by the way.

Thurvok, Jotik spawns in the Citadel.

Wraithguards will con dubiously, also inside the town of Valdeholm. They start conning ready to attack at the Citadel however, so watch your step! I have not met see invis mobs outside the Citadel. Inside I don't know, but I suspect mobs like Jotik himself see invis. Where is that Citadel? On your map, almost on top, to the right.

Good luck!

"I have not met see invis mobs outside the Citadel."

Many of the pet wolves of roaming giants outside will see invis.

I was so lucky to loot one of these last Saturday (thanks again, Otag!). However, instead of Fury of Marr, mine says Light of Marr, which would be a group heal rather than a damage proc. I sure hope mine is correct, and they won't change that effect!!! Put a Shimmering Scale in this baby, so you have both a Stun and Group Heal proc, and you don't have to use you other stuns or taunt anymore I bet!
Other effect on it?

Proc works correctly on mine, both group heal and cure effects. Note that the proc is a 1dd nuke that recourses a group heal/cure; that's Sony's way of ensuring that the paladin doesn't get aggro credit for the group heal part. It will add you to aggro list if you proc and heal your puller, but won't carry the same hate value as if you had cast a 175hp group heal off your manabar. CS4 proc would be a fair addition; I went with the Dark Shroud Gem off Seeker for pure dps, but it's up for debate whether a pure damage aug or proc aug deals more damage; I won't get into that here.

This sword is a gorgeous epic 1.5 equivalent- same damage ratio, better stats, lose the shielding and the click effect. It lets you deal reasonable damage while supporting your group with automatic heals and minor cures (banishes Tash on every proc). Shamans love these group heal swords. It's nice to see a weapon with that type of effect itemized in a way that casual players can achieve.

If you win this sword, prioritize Weapon Affinity AA.
