Used in "Shade's Bane" quest from the Wraithguard in Valdeholm. It's a no trade, tradeskill item. Also it is NOT a no fail combine. My skill in blacksmithing was only 17, but I failed on the combine.
The ore can drop from the area near the elevator in Verg Mines, although I have heard reports that it is more common deeper into the zone.
