Good item IMO

Think about it, for a chanter who is lvl 25 say, and wants to look different. Have this and either a stein in offhand it would look cool, this beats the crude stein by far, I mean if yer int isn't maxed this gives +2int AND 15mana, which is 1.5 int at lvl 50, its proably 4 int at lvl 25. this is great if you are doing an all around enhanter job in a group, IE mezing a bit but nuking stunning mainly, then u want the max mana( especially b4 pulling a uber mob) instead of the 7cha because you will be stunning and nuking a lot more then mezing because its only one, uber mob hehe, anyways thats just one situation, I prefer 2int 15mana 5cold resist and cool look over 7 more cha and 15sta(hah) u can get the 7cha from gold cat bracer if u don't have one already.

I have to disagree. I play an Enchanter as my alt...I have stein of moggok in main and crude stein in secondary. Cha is WAY more important for an enc than int. First, you have the stats wrong on crude stein; its +10sta +15cha. Yes, a whopping 15cha. You may have a point about nuking, but 2int doesn't make much of difference instead of 15cha. Also, the stun spells rely on cha also. But, given the choice between these two items, the crude stein is the better choice, hands down.

Charisma doesn't have that big of an effect

Not hands down. If you have no other item to give +2 int then this is still a good item to wield with Moggok for tradeskills. Just have to switch back to crude when buying materials ;)

I am a veteran lvl 51 almsot 52 enchanter and I am thinking about going and getting one of these even if i cant kill for it I can buy looting rights 8o)

think about it like this 2 int and 15 mana

add 3 cha

bonus 5 save cold

stein of moggok far superior?
how because it has 10 int and some hp or soemthing

not when you have 198 int before

why? simple mana is capped at 200 int
so in certain scenios this lantern which I have never seen would be most effective

for the bonus cha bonus mana

though my frotyone mug is 10 cha 10 agi I think I would trade it out for this lantern

for utility and for coolness factor

oh and btw my int when i jewel craft is 226

my int is 197 my cha is 184 when I battle
missing a few items still need eboots and a syrn hood

Does it actually cast a purple light? I think that would be the coolest.
Actually...
# May 22 2001 at 11:19 AM Rating: Decent
I was considering getting it for my enchanter as something with int/mana on it to swap in instead of my crude stein if I'm NOT in a crowd control situation... and since it does have some charisma on it, if I do need to mez, I'm not entirely down on cha...

Focus item?

Excellent for the crowd that hunts here
# Apr 16 2001 at 11:09 AM Rating: Decent
I got mine while on vacation last week. A group of 20s shouted it was on Muglwump for anyone who could use it. I was the only enchanter in zone and they escorted me there. I looted it and gated home. I have not noticed much difference, but I just dinged 10. It is the first item I have gotten for my secondary slot.

I will replace it, but in the meantime it is FAR better than nothing.
What NPC will take this
# Mar 20 2001 at 11:28 AM Rating: Default
I got this item last night but I'm durid and cant use it and cant trade it to somone. Does anyone know if theres an NPc that that will take it for exp or coin.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 30 2001 at 7:00 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Thanks MR.****. Nice of you to kill an EXP mob for newbies and loot a no drop item you can't use.

What do I have to kill to get one?
# Mar 19 2001 at 2:32 PM Rating: Decent
I'm in the warrens quite a bit and have been in there since it opened on my server. I have never seen one of these, but want to. I am a level 18 Enchanter and I'm getting my Int as high as I can for training trade skills. This is just another item that gives me the wanted Int and Mana. As far as I know, nobody has seen one of these drop.

So, What drops this. Multiple creatures isn't an answer. I kill multiple creatures all the time and have never seen this item.

The Muglwump.
Good backup item
# Mar 17 2001 at 8:49 AM Rating: Decent
True, it's not as good as a Stein of Moggok at higher levels, but I wouldn't mind having this item for my 24 enchanter as a backup for when I sell my Stein. I have a habit of selling it if I'm offered more than 200 pp and then I'm left with nothing to hold for an INT item ( I don't have a Black Tome with Silver Runes).

Plus, it has 3 CHA, so I could get rid of one of my charisma items and throw an INT item in its place.

All in all a good item for the level and class.
This is not so good
# Mar 17 2001 at 12:16 AM Rating: Default
considering the stats and the fact that it is NO-DROP this item is about worthless to me. I quested for my very own Stien of Moggok at lv 12. I compleated the quest twice and bought a Crude Stien as well. I would never trade either of stiens for this lamp. Especially since I had them both way before lv 20!

no one is saying this is by far the best item in the game they are just saying its a very nice item for where it drops . and if you realy wanna get into it i had my rod of insideous glamour quest done at lvl 15 but i certainly would never call this item useless. as far as the stien of moggok quest goes im sure we all did that quest pre 20 but its still nice to know you have an alternative to having to run from one side of the world to the other for 5 hours while ruining your factions in the temple at qeynos for a decent item
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 17 2001 at 4:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Quit your complaining It is a good item to have at lower lvl's most higher players that kill the mob just shout fer a newbie in zone to come et So Please if your gonna complain Go do it elsewhere
RE: This is not so good
# Mar 17 2001 at 5:16 PM Rating: Default
i'd hafta say it'd probably rot first (as it's only usable by enchanters) unless somebody looted it without looking. no drop don't sell very well ya know.

I have one more thing to say... Have you ever been to the Warrens? I have been (third day it was open) and the trains there are are down right crazy. Which MoB does this drop from? If it is in the throne room, trust me you will not (well you should not ) see to many low level enchanters hanging out down there. It would be extreamly hazardous to your health and experience level, to be down there before level 18 even invisible. If it drops else wheres, then this may not apply but when I was there the throne room was the only place for me to get exp at lv 22 (that I found)
What drops and is the light violet?

very nice

id like to say verant made a very nice choice to add this item to this lvl dungeon. not overly powerful but yet worth getting a group together and trying to attain this item. just when i start to lose faith they slip one in the back door and send it into overtime
RE: very nice
# Mar 15 2001 at 11:32 PM Rating: Default
But by the time you're high enought to get one you can afford to buy something better. I personally think that this is a very nice piece for lower lvls that want to twink a little.
RE: very nice
# Mar 16 2001 at 2:40 AM Rating: Decent
If you need a lightsource aswell as the other stats on this its nice.
RE: very nice
# Mar 16 2001 at 3:51 AM Rating: Default
Umm, enchanter only?? Think about it....

Being a DE Enchanter, I am so annoyed at the human and erudite illusions because I lose my ultravision. This is a much needed light source for those illusions, and it will give a slight stat boost in the process. I give it a thumbs up!

Um, but at your level, you also have Serpent Sight, which you can easily cast on yourself in Human/Erudite form, and see better than with a standard light source.
RE: very nice
# Oct 18 2002 at 11:29 AM Rating: Default
assuming you carry around snake skins. if you're used to playing a race that has inherently good sight, you may not make a habit of keeping these
Steins
# Mar 16 2001 at 9:15 AM Rating: Decent
By this level (20) most enchanters will have a stein in both hands.

It is no drop. I suppose if it drops a shout can go up for looting right for a younger player, but I can hardly see a group coming together to camp this item for a chanter friend.

RE: Steins
# May 18 2001 at 9:27 AM Rating: Decent
Yes, the steins are better.

In fact one could say the same about nearly every equipment slot for nearly every class at various levels -- there is a single item that is probably best for that race/class/level combination.

However, it would be boring as hell to see every single character outfitted identically. I personally think that it is cool that other options are being created.

I would hate to think that Verant would decide to stop coding items that are usable by chanters/int casters just because the stein already exists and is a more logical item to be equipped.
RE: Steins
# Mar 19 2001 at 11:26 AM Rating: Decent
why not ive seen many young enchaters in their teens with less items that wopuld benefit well from this item and get great xp while attaining it if i was young again i would ask my friends to help on this its a nice item for the average lvl of this dungeon
RE: Steins
# Mar 28 2001 at 9:00 PM Rating: Default
its a good item for the lev. and it adds cha. and int and mana (mana is better than int once int hits over 200). For an enchanter that wants to max cha for crowd control this is a nice item. and hay not much in this games drops stuff for any casters i glad to see this add to the game.
