Arid Indicolite Shard  

 

Due to this date I spent now 1 week in the entrance of Vergalid killin everythin in sight without ANY drop. Is this item ultra rare (for SURE NOT COMMON!!!)? I even found a prestige item in this time down there ... but NO shard ...
Try to get to inner otherwise .. but again .. no chance

No other way - no shard ... No entry to inner anymore???

Ok, here is an update for those who get confused easily, I just did this task a little while ago, and this is used for the "KEY" to get down to the lower section of the "Vergalid Mines", which it is ONLY the first part of it, though, so, going to have to loot this, and then take it to the "Shrine of Zen", which is from the elevator, you come off of the elevator, head forward to the intersection, then head to your left, down that tunnel, and once you get to where the big open cave is at, where you see some tents and etc, follow the wall along your left-hand side, and take the second tunnel, and follow it until you get to the somewhat open cave area, where literally across the cave is a large statue of a guy, whom is standing in-front of the doorway, just run to the doorway, as long as you are invisible, nothing will see you, and clicking on the doorway, will not drop your invisibility, and on the other side of that doorway, you will see a large bright blue glowing cluster of crystals, stand on or next to it, and right-click the shard you have looted, and you will now have the more permanent version of this crystal shard, that you have looted, and now can put it in the bank, or whatever, as long as you do not destroy it, you can now go to the lower part of the Vergalid Mines!

As of 12-29-07...

I looted an arid indicolite shard for the clicky key quest to get past the stone door.

I went to the blue crystals near the door and right-clicked on the shard to get the Flawless Indicolite Shard... and the arid shard remained.

Normally I wouldn't have done anything other than destroy the arid shard except that I had once been bored while killing and had taken an 'extra' shard to the blue crystals and clicked it. I received an emote to the effect that the energy of the shard had gone to boost the lifeforce of Vergalid.


So...

I right-clicked the arid shard again... and I got the same emote about boosting Vergalid's energy.


Well...

I've always been one to test limits, so I continued to right-click the arid shard again and again and again...


The Result...

After 10 right-clicks THE STONE DOOR DISAPPEARED!!!

I did NOT time it exactly, but I believe it remained gone for approximately 10 minutes after which it respawned. I repeated this with the same shard and got the same result. The door disappeared after 10 clickies.

During this time I had a mage toon down in the 'Vergalid Room' and CoH'd myself down. Originally whenever I was near Vergalid I could run all around him and never be aggro. This time (and again I stress it could be coincidence) Vergalid TL'd me to the zone-in with an emote to the effect that he would not deal with me.

SO...

Did I inadvertantly make Vergalid a targetable mob?

Are the Sunderock Springs quests required to actually take on this version of Vergalid?

Does anyone have any input?

Since no one has said so yet, this thing can take forever to drop. I was bored and decided I would solo here, hoping for the shard for inner verg access. That was two days ago. Tomorrow will be the 3rd day I will spend more than 4-5 hrs killing stuff here =(. I have easily killed hundreds and hundreds of mobs and haven't had the shard drop yet. Bring someone you enjoy talking to because you might be here a while.
