spell stacking

I would like to clear this up Drones of Doom and Stinging Swarm are the same line but Drifting Death and Creeping Crud are a sepperate line.To top it off the same line can stack if 1 is over 50 aka Winged Death,Drifting Death and Drones of Doom all stack. If you do not believe me then cast them on yourself you will find out for sure.Just make sure you got a good heal loaded

As of some patch since that post dot stacking was changed, and I believe pretty much everything stacks now. Even 2 different druids can cast drones on same target and both will do damage. I still don't use anything lower then drones cause the others don't seem worth the mana.

you were close after patch all dot stick of the same line but only 2 of the same spell wouldnt do double the damge no matter who casts the spell

Wrong.

If 10 druids all cast winged death, drifting death, drones of doom, and every other dot down to stinging swarm on the same mob, all 10 copies of all the dots would stack. Try it!

Thats what makes elysian hunting druid groups so much fun. The more druids you have, the faster the dots rip thru the mob.

Very close to being accurate... not all our dot spells stack with other druids casting the same spell. I have noticed that my Breath of Ro will not stack with another druid's Breath of Ro. It won't even take hold if the other druid is higher level. I believe this is because Breath of Ro has an AC debuff... maybe its CR debuff... However, all every druid's magic based dots stack with every other druid's magic based dots.

Bracer

At level 56, I still use the DoT Drones of Doom cause it is mana free damage. It stacks with Winged and is nice finisher for a fleeing mob in skyfire. Allows me to med up for the next one while that one dies. Also if lom, can skip a winged and med for a minute or two for roots and a winged. The mob is still taking some damage, granted not alot but he isnt healing while i med for the next big dot. For those that would rather finish fast and med up, hope you have a lot of mana for mobs in skyfire cause a couple nukes a couple roots, snare and a winged or two and I think you have alot of med time. Using the bracer combined with winged death might take me a little longer to kill the mob then nuking but I rarely have the 10 minute med time between kills so I think it evens out pretty much. Also I doubt I have enough mana to nuke him a few times then switch to winged as often as they like to break root. Our nukes after all, are hardly efficient and all save 1 , Breath of Karana, have long cast time. Just my opinion. Ill keep the mana free dot =).

The dot is not so bad

Im a 54 druid thinking about going after this or ss armor think ss is a little better though. As far as the argument about the droons of doom dot goes its not that bad. Someone had metionted that the cast time of the bracers is faster than on the es vamps. I curently use ES vamps and find that in a group if i have clarity by the time i get up and cast this, and get back down to med its isnt worth while. Useally the mob drops to fast to get the whole effect or the in the lost med time i could have saved mana and cast fury of air or something. My question is is this the same case with the bracers or is the increased cast time much better?
Casting Time

Seems to cast much faster then Elder's Spiritist Vambraces...roughly 5 or 6 seconds.

bracers are nice

this and the bp are the only pieces of kael armor i dont have, wanna rag on a piece of arm? lets talk about how bad the kael boots and arms suk. This dot is great to stack with winged when soloing.

Drones of Doom and Winged Death are the same DOT line (stinging swarm, creeping crud...), aren't they? I'm not sure on this though so don't quote me on this.
RE: bracers are nice

Yes they are, but you can stack one POST 50 swarm spell with one PRE 50 spell. (eg. Winged Death stacks with Drones of Doom)

With a more recent patch multiple druids can now stack the same spell on a mob provided it has less than 30 effects on it at the time. A further addition to this patch, correct me if i'm wrong, but almost every druid DoT spell now stacks with all other DoTs.

I've gotten a few druid friends to hunt and so far we've had no problems with any of our 53 and below DoTs stacking with each other. I'm just glad i'm not the mob with triple WD and BoR on me!

#Anonymous, Posted: May 27 2001 at 2:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) druids arent verants favored class, by far druids have been screwed form the beginning, a necro, monk, war, Sk, shaman, mag, cleric have it way easyier. i have a 100 base wis and im lvl 41. my wisdom is now 182 im happy spent a but load of PP and worked my butt of the get the things i have only to loose it all and rebuild. there is no way that i can get to 200 wisdom without spending at least 15kpp that i know of except to do these quest. most druids i know have the same problem. if druids had it as easy as everyone else for artmor and wisdom then why do we always complain more than everyone else. it takes a smart person to kite all the way to 55 and ill be one of the people to do it. and im yet to quad kite heheh.
Toss up
# Mar 16 2001 at 1:56 PM Rating: Default
This makes it a toss up between the Skyshrine and Kael quest for druid bracers. Both require the same number of the same gem, but different types of armor...On the other hand I'd have to do a LOT of faction work and also find out where the armor components drop before I could consider these even an option...
A nice idea
# Mar 15 2001 at 7:37 PM Rating: Decent
Just wishful thinking here, but...
Wouldn't it be nice if all these triggerd bracers that are coming out would have 2 different drops each with a different spell? This would keep people interested in hunting/questing for these items and would increase the chances of 2 of the same classes in the same group getting something. I Think it's kind of lame having 2 bracers with the same triggered effect.

Two bracers and the Vanbracer all with same DOT. must be the only spell the designer thinks Druids have... Just to make sure we don't stack DOTS or get another buff/dd.

cripes...lookit the druids whining! Verant's favored class isn't satisfied with mana-free unlimited damage! As if the petless class getting a pet was not enough, or the stackability of every one of the high level DOT's didn't make it totally obvious druids were designated first in the hearts of the game designers. These rank pretty close to JBB, except where kiting is concerned.
I can think of another class whose SOLE existence is based on DD but verant has been very very stingy giving wizards any kind of mana-free DD on a simple QUEST ITEM. Just compare the various quest armors for the spells granted mana-free...I'd give all the quest armors up for a decent DD..but see what classes get mana-free dmg of any kind on a quest armor and you'll begin to see just who is at the head of the pecking order at verant.

Hmmmm.....personally I don't think we should respond when people call us Verant's favored class. I don't think Verant intentionally make druids so great, they prolly didn't realize what giving us an 11 minute snare, 60%+ speed enhancing spell, and a 500-800 DD AoE would do for the class. Oh well, more power to us; VI won't nerf because over 30% of EQ players have a druid as a mian and well over 75% have a 30+ druid. Yes one in 4 of your 50+ friends have a closeted druid twink running around quadding dorfs in BB or making more money than their 60 warrior can at 45 on HGs. We should embrace our superiority, mock petty wizards who would dare compare themselves because they get Hate ports and bane-damage spells. Druids are NOT useless on raids, if you're a melee and you've grouped with a druid who has a free Regrowth BP from Thurg/SS/Kael you know what I mean. We're much better healers than shammys, can heal all the aux. tanks and casters and let the cleric focus on a selected chanter/MA tank. And we can KS like mad if we're with decent melees, only competition is a wizzy. Add in PotG, 1600+ epic damage, massive fire debuffs, circle buff spells, snare, uber pets~, evac abilities, and ability to do just about anything solo other classes wouldn't even consider I think we're hands down the best class in EQ. Not as critical for Vindi/Tunare/AoW as others..but 99% of the game ain't killing uber mobs. It's doing stuff by yuorself or in groups of 6 people, and druids kick butt in these departments. When I lead a raid there's at least 1 Thurg/Hate/SS/Kael BP druid in every group if I can arrange it, they're just that useful.

I can't figure a single use for the effect on the bracer for a level 50+ druid. For me at 46, it would be close, but I'd most likely go for the quicker kill and med up. Wait, one is coming to me. A level 50 mob with really high magic resist that is invulnerable to any melee attack and will gate out if any tick of damage is over 6pts and has only 500 hps. Yah, that's it... where is that mob at? Let me at him.

Have you seen the pet? That is the biggest joke of an argument I've seen.

No way does Verant cater to me. I look like a fricken newbie still (springwood club, foreman's tunic, ns wreath, ack! wood elf tailored boots).

This bracer is nice with the +9 wis and the +20 mana. I'll be able to dump some wis items that have no mana for this bracer. That's about it.

Oh yes, we are the favorite class. Then explain a couple things to me, newbie:

Why does Vermiculated armor suck so bad?

Why are all the good items not druid usable?

Well, nonetheless, I figured out what your post meant, let me translate this guy's message:
I'm a newbie in Greater Faydark who has never killed an orc. Then a druid wouldn't give me full Fine Steel when I begged him for an hour, so now I am mad and I am gonna act cool by trying to sound imporatant.

Seriously, you CANT be above level 20 with a stupid post like this. Mana-free unlimited damage? Wow, 270 damage on a mob with around 6k! I think I am gonna REALLY get somewhere quick! I might kill him in 40 minutes! Oh wait, no, if I snare him, it'll do 202 damage, so I can do it in an HOUR!!

Verant is stingy about giving the other 'sole dd' class dmg spells on a quest item? Then what does this do? http://eqdb.allakhazam.com/item.html?item=5234

A SIMPLE quest item? Do you actually know how HARD these quests are? Didn't think so.

I don't think once in this entire post of yours you actually sounded SMART. I bet if I showed a rock the basics of EQ, it could type up a post better than yours!

you are just jealous and wish you could be a druid.
and FYI a druid doesnt have it very easy most exp post 50+ id done in dungeons and for most druids it is hard to find a good grp past 54. I can usaully find a grp of people to hunt with that know me well and know how to fight with a druid.

For the effect on the bracers WOW a 300 damage dot in 1 min holy #$%# i can solo all the time now ya right any mob 50+ has atleast 5k hp and you will be there a while trying to kill it with the bracers so please play a druid class b4 you go and dog them
