This IS plate armour. Anyone that can wear plate can wear this, no more, no less. Deal with it!

Not complaining... just adding the fact that the exception seems to be the Shaman, being they can wear plate.

Just one more item that would be great for my druid I can't wear. Why can't Verant put something in the game that HLF Druids can wear.

And buy the way would it be asking too much if it affected how I looked a little? Why is it only elves and Humans get to change their appearance? And before you all jump in with this race and that race, Wander around and really look next time your on. No two Humans or Elves look the same, but every Barbarian, Ogre, or troll around the same level look the same.

Perk up. You're the only one that can wear Woven Grass Bracers...

As for why Verant can't put in HLF Druid gear....its most simply because Halflings...well...suck.

Wait until Planes of Power comes out, you'll see Karana ***** out there.

Except they don't suck. Halflings are roughly equal to dwarves as clerics, warriors, paladins and rogues. The barrel roll is the only way that dwarves really outshine them. :) They are also as good as wood elves as rangers and druids and better than humans and half elves in those two classes. Never scoff at the power of the halflings.

"It's stupid for <insert class here> to wear this item."

C'mon people. Just because it wouldnt be the best piece of armor for a certain class to wear DOESN'T mean that class should be removed from the list of classes that can wear it.
And try and think about it from a non-twink perspective.
If you are killing the Prince to get his item you could just as easily be doing it at lvl 15 with a group. People that arent twinks would actually form a large group JUST to bring this critter down. And at lvl 15, NON-twink, chances are pretty high that you actually would want to wear this bracer, even if you are a warrior. I have a lvl 12 Erudite SK that has been hunting in the Warrens since lvl 4 and he is wearing Soft Wicker armor with the odd piece of Bamboo Splint armor. That includes bracers too. I would wear this item if I got it just because the AC is twice what I have for bracers now. And losing 1 point of int does not make a life-altering difference for an SK at any lvl. The wis is wasted on my SK and the 5 mana doesnt make a difference either (its just one more casting of Siphon Strength).
And if you can get this item for free, and it has the same AC as banded, then thats a few more plat that could be used to buy a minor str ring or earring instead of paying for banded from a player, so that makes up for the weight difference too. The point is, dont flame something just because YOU dont think class X should use it. Let people make their own judgements and descisions.

This bracer is better than banded, only if you are a cleric or pally. Any other one of the listed classes would be wise to sell this item, and use the proceeds to buy better. Since there is no pricing date, I am going to have to make some assumptions. As a cleric, I note that this has +3 wis, and better ac than a polished bone bracelet. This means the prices would be higher than 50pp. I would guess around 100pp. This would be more than enough to buy an entire set of banded armor, not just the bracer, or one fine plate bracer, which is far superior to this for all listed classes except the wis caster. In fact, if anyone on my server, rodcet nife, has one, I'll give you 1) a full set of banded or 2) a fine steel plate bracer for it. I'm sure any cleric or pally would do the same. I can see any of the other classes listed wearing this only until they can find a buyer. Especially, the SK, who should dump this item asap becuase of the -1 int. for sk's this is worse than banded.

This drops of the Prince in Warrens. When you enter Warrens you have a choice to go left or right. Right takes you to the Prince and the jails. Left takes you to King, High Shaman, Mugluwump. The prince also drops the Cloak of the Forlorn and Shield of the Forlorn.

Flamers suck
# Apr 15 2001 at 3:17 AM Rating: Decent
Hmmm, just my 2 cp, but seems one druid (or any applicable class) says one thing about not being able to use an item and 20 people flame him. you tell druids to get a life, why don't you? I understand alot of items not being applicable for a certian class or race, but come on. calm down a bit people.
RE: Flamers suck
# Dec 19 2001 at 12:22 AM Rating: Decent
Flaming is part of the great system of checks and balances on the web. It helps moderate the massive overload of senseless garbage spewed by the many idiots surfing around. It's often hard enough to find intelligent content - without flaming it might well be impossible!

Flaming = Good!

what?
# Mar 16 2001 at 2:08 AM Rating: Good
OK..I'm a level 24 paladin and I wouldn't mind this bracer. A + for wis AND mana however low is nothing to scoff at. Also, the ac is about the same as banded if I remember correctly. The only thing that would make me want this more would be a +2 or so to STR as well.

No Druids Allowed
# Mar 15 2001 at 4:17 PM Rating: Default
Now, why can't druids use 'em? Once again, left out of the wis casters group for no good reason. Bards? Pshaw!
also note.....
# Mar 17 2001 at 6:00 PM Rating: Default
rangers, another wis using non-plate using class got left out, so i'd suppose that they're considered plate

would be nice for my ranger to get wis+ items on wrists considering those slots are empty for mine, even considering it is lore.
RE: No Druids Allowed
# Mar 15 2001 at 5:23 PM Rating: Good
Good reason #1. It is plate (or looks it anyway) Druids aren't supposed to be able to wear plate (yes, I know there are exceptions.)

Good reason #2. This dungeon is on Odus, where the only wis casters are clerics and Pallidans.. who can use this item... and wear plate...
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 15 2001 at 8:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) #1 aren't supposed to wear plate, you did say there are exceptions, but since there are so many exceptions for the bracer slot, and there are loads, it really doesn't validate much
RE: No Druids Allowed
# Mar 18 2001 at 10:41 AM Rating: Decent
I always found it funny when an ogre and a gnome/halfling can wear the same of any gear, hehe
RE: No Druids Allowed
# Mar 15 2001 at 10:51 PM Rating: Decent
#1 you are a newbie

#2 most plate bracers for a druid are dropped by high level things, not something that is level 18.

#3 druids always ***** when they can't get a item.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 18 2001 at 4:04 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I agree......druids are by far the most over powerful class in the game and everytime something comes up they cant use they whine like babies.....Shut up and go back to kitin or whatever it is you do.....Proud to have never started a Druid and never will...
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 19 2001 at 11:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i am so god damn tired of the farkin droods whining and moaning about not getting pieces of armor...nevermind the ones that are PLATE BASED! think before you post god dammit. and nevermind all the shammies that are gonna be disapointed. i know mine certainly isnt though, there are better wis items for wrist. especially since this drops in a low level dungeon, meant for low level characters, not l3wt-camping dr00ds to get.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 20 2001 at 6:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) you saying there arent low level druids? druids complain as they get almost no armour, most druids at level 30 are still wearing some pieces they had at level 1. that is why they complain. oh and flame at me all you like i almost never check these so make yourself feel better by flameing. oh and the only things my druid (yes druid not dr00d as everyone thinks we all are) has camped are things that i wanted for me, not to farm but for me to use
RE: No Druids Allowed
# Mar 21 2001 at 8:46 AM Rating: Decent
If you are still wearing the same amour at lvl 30 that you had at lvl 1, I feel exstremly sorry for you. There are plenty of decent items out their for druids, and with all the cultural based leather armour, you should have no problem finding stuff. The ac on this item is the same as banded and considering it drops off of a lvl 18 mob, makes sence to be for only plate wearing classes. Druids are leather wearing, and from an RP sence and a game balance sence shouldn't have plate type armour.
Nice for New Clerics/Paladins
# Mar 15 2001 at 1:47 PM Rating: Good
This is a very nice piece for a newbie cleric or paladin. Plus its open to almost all races.
RE: Nice for New Clerics/Paladins

Okay...I can deal with it not being druid usable (and we do get left out of a lot of equipment, but what the hey), but why is it equipable by warriors? They don't need wis or mana, so why?

I mean, I don't see rangers in that list, and rangers need wis and mana because they'll have spells at this point, but they were dropped too.

Warriors can use them most likely because warriors are a plate wearing class, Rangers aren't really a plate wearing class until the very high levels with plane gear and kunark armor. As for druids, once again, not a plate wearing class...

A warrior would be stupid to wear one of these though.. they don't need the WIS or mana, so that leaves the AC... same as a banded bracer but heavier.
RE: Because....
# Mar 16 2001 at 1:48 PM Rating: Default
Not if they really are a new player and can't afford the banded cost. Free is better than weight for a true newbie player :)
RE: Because....
# Apr 15 2001 at 8:06 PM Rating: Decent
These aren't for low level newbies. They are listed as being for level 18 or above. A warrior worth anything should have a full set of banded armor by level 15, if not before that. And, by level 18, they should be able to kill Evil Eyes with a small group and get the Optic Nerves for the Crafted Bracer quest, which is so much better for a warrior than this.

They could probably sell this for enough to buy 2 banded bracers..maybe more.
