The highest level a Druid can obtain in AD&D (which I imagine helped Verant with designing the Druid somewhat...except for robes...I want robes..at least at high levels!! anyway..)
After a Druid obtains the highest possible level (becoming the Greatest Druid in the world, they can retire, and begin at level 1..and travel the world as one of the most powerful beings, etc...ie, a Heirophant ..

The word heirophant refers to something more like a mystic, or seer. Pretty close to Shaman... Verant was a bit daft to name druids Heirophants.
And after that... as if Iksars dont get enough... now they get their own planar drops? :P

I don't understand why some people think Iksar have it so much better than everyone else. Have you ever played an Iksar? Let's face it, getting to your upper 40's without decent armor is pretty tough.. and another question: how many high level Iksar shaman, warriors and shadow knights do you know of? I'm on a fairly large and well-organized server and I can count on two hands the number of high level Iksar. Why is that? Because they have it so much better than everyone else? LOL! I like to think of the addition of this new planar and quest armor as a reward to those who have persevered rather than deleting their Iksar and starting a dr00d.
Lol whiners always whining about Iksars hahah. If you dont like ti make an Iksar :P
