still a decent item

I haven't really looked up wrist items for all casters, but I know Enchanters for one have a very tough time getting good items in their wrist slots. Even the LDoN items you can buy in NRo and BB are less than desireable for the simple fact the stats suck and some aren't even int. related. Anything with more than 50 hp's is almost impossible to find for sale, and if you do find it you'll be paying 40K on bertoxx. Look at the stats on ornate bracers, nevermind the FTII, which is why they're so expensive. The stats blow and if you don't get it to drop you'll be paying close to 100K for them.

Most wrist items for enchanters that are decent are found by raid only, and even something like this, with minimal stats besides hp's and mana aren't very nice, but better than what I'm wearing now. Anyway, I'm still wearing the same wrist items I bought in the bazaar at level 30. Thats enough of my rant, but if anyone has any leads on a good wrist item I can pick up with one group or two, I'd be happy to hear about it.

This would be a good mage item, as it keeps us from having to summon enduring breath baubles all the time, but the stats are only good for lower level casters. You probably should be wearing better gear to even attempt the PoFear, so this would be more of a twink item than anything else. Still, the no-click wearable effect is rather nice.

Got one
# Dec 17 2001 at 12:30 PM Rating: Decent
Got one of these 2 nights ago off the new dracho. It works just like an EB earring, no component needed, no click needed to cast. Jump in the water, you keep breathing normally.

We got 3 in 2 nights thanks to VI's patching idiocy.

draco isnt as hard as people are saying, he can be reverse kited and i held malosi on him at 56. all my fire based and magic based nukes worked (mage) we had no deaths. only problem he can be is if he shows up when not pulled..just more of a pain that way.

We got 3 of these and some awesome belt off 2 draco's yesterday due to VI's leet patching skillz.

My wizzy (L57) is wearing one now. Should be a nice effect since I was without any other EB gear.

played around with it ;)

you don't need scales, the effect is perma and not a spell you have to click

so basically it rocks, just whut I needed for all those trips to siren's grotto and kedge keep hehe

Daaaaamn i thought i was done with hate a year ago /sigh, guess i need to go back now...anyone know what the effect is?
RE: Effect? And wow
# Mar 16 2001 at 12:32 PM Rating: Default
Yeah, the effect is the level 24 Necro self only "enduring breath". Why bother with that when you can just DMF?

Effect is a low level necro spell (Around level 29 I think)that gives enduring breath.

Not that this isn't a great item (who wouldn't love to have it as a caster) but I think that earlier comment is a prime example of why people are a little worried about the changes to the planes. (This isn't a flame so don't be offended)

On a side note... Does anyone know what level the triggered effect is viable at?

Thanks in advance,
S

My guess with absolutely no knowledge would be a 46 on the effect, just because it's from a plane so obviously not before 46. And even though it would be a cold day in Fear before a 46 recieved this phat l3wtZ, I still figure they'd set it up so it's capable.
RE: Effect? And wow
# Mar 16 2001 at 10:37 AM Rating: Default
Why a cold day? On my raids, all who participate and demonstrate need (will immediately replace current item) have an option on the roll. If there is great disparity in level and time commitment, then a weighted roll is used. The bottom line though is risk equals possible reward.

cold day indeed, most peeps dont go at 46 (or fresh into 46) because dying a couple times means leaving your corpse with gear up there while you go level back to 46.

as far as someone saying 'why not just use dmf?' 1) i know a couple necros that hate the bobbing /shrug, never bothered me 2) wiz/mag/enc would love it (=

Yes and DMF dont use a reagent does it ? where as breath of dead requires fish scales. And i know DMF lasts like 48 mins but breath of dead doesnt last as long does it ?
RE: Effect? And wow
# Aug 16 2001 at 9:07 AM Rating: Default
DMF lasts around an hour and 15 minutes...

RE: Effect? And wow
# Jun 13 2001 at 12:35 PM Rating: Decent
DMF does not use a reagent. But I do know that in kedge keep, you can not cast DMF while in the zone. So unless you don't plan on being there very long, or plan on zoning out to refresh DMF every time you need to, this effect is awsome. I also like the effect just because it saves a spell slot. It is really annoying having to swap out spells so I try to get as many items with spell effects that I find my self using on a regular basis as I can. Not that I use breath of the dead a lot.... but what else am I going to get for my wrist slot? Reclaim energy? Besides, the stats are verrrrry nice for a wrist slot item.

The Dracoliche has been updated. Wiped yesterday over 40 "typical" PoF raiders who were fully buffed and ready for the pull. Does 600 damage per hit, and MR beyond most mage's nighmares.
