i wanted this wep so bad, then they whack it with the mighty nerf stick...*sigh* and whats with Veeshan being a rainbow Dragonfly and Rodcet Nife being a fish? really now Soe, u deserve a smack
in regards to whats written below here regarding agro, if it was based purely upon how often you hit, monks would be obsolete and die at the beginning of every fight.
ok.....6 delay is like 6/10's of a second and 2 damage is like 6 minute battle you'd be doing like 600 damage + about 10 procs so thats 2500 + 600 thats like 3100 in 6 minutes, thats pretty fast
edit - and + D.A it would be twice that so more like 6200 in 6 minutes
Aside from 2 or so posts that say this would work great for a pally with that proc spell up... everything below my post is just a load of crap, so please be kind to your eyes and brain and just stop reading now :)
DMG bonus is not adding to your sword stats it adds to your DMG like if you had that sword it will still be 2/6 but if you hit with it for 10 and it had a 14dmg bonus you would hit for 24 instead of 10
sorry guys but i think the haste delay cap is 6, so haste wont do alot of anything( if u dont believe me talk to some high lvl human monks, why humans? faster fists)
ummm notice he said monk...hand to hand weapons u get a haste on which lowers the delay of the weapon so speed of the fists does make a dif as a perm haste more or less.
he was talking about the age old debate of humans over iksars. back in the day humans were preferred over iksars because their bare fists were faster than an iksars bare fists so put all H2H weapons aside and know what your talking about here thats not what this is about
Combine this with Instrument of Nife, and you'll have a blast with undead. Also imagine the number of interrupts you'd get while using this on a casting mob along with bashing and casting our stun spells. Throw in the fact that we are made for taking hits, and could actually find this extra speed-taunt useful when working with casters. I don't know how all the theories come into play for taunting and damage ratios, but I'd love to play with this!
this used to be useless, only used for the "Blade of the Ocean" quest, test of sacrafice. Now, though, with a new lvl 30 Buff for pally, at lvl 30 a pally can Proc, with any weapon, for about 220-226 dmg, i hit for 223, and when I hit the new spell graphix I heard that I will hit for around 280, against undead of course. Well this dmg is totally sweet if you buff yourself up, only to fight undead, and makes you a mana free high lvl cleric. Well, its not the best of ideas, but with this speed you will be procing, with a dex of even as low as 100, about 20 times a minute.... just a thought heh. Otherwise id just use this for the quest.
yea that is a good idea! this is the only weapon ive seen in the game tha that has this low of a delay .. is this the lowest it gets??? anyone know of any other low delay items?? taygarr
well, there was one, but i think they nerfed it because it was doing better than the epic (for melee's, of course) and it dropped offa a lvl 30 mob. Never saw it, but I think it was 1/7.

Posted:Aug 08 2002 at 11:51 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) just think, go on a high level dragon raid with this. your gonna have aego, brell's mts barrior, level 60 haste, 60 shammy buffs, and put up rune on the pally.....thats alot of tuant power. hell put ion on and then send that pally into unrest, and train the zone to him, i say everythings dead in 30 seconds. it might be made to be used for something better, but hell as it is it does have great potential, now if we shut the warriors up they might notice that they only there to take damage not deal it..thats the REAL classes jobs :)
Lol..... First post here on Alla's and I'm gonna have to make it a flame.. you get your Aego/BMB/Haste/FoS/and Rune, wait for the pull or zerg, and when your MT call's assist, Jump on him with your massivly aggro building weapon, (i'm sure you included divine might, or one of the boon's so you can get a great proc as well) and get your whack on... in about...I'm thinking around 5 seconds, your level 53 human paladin is going to be Numeral Uno on ITV's(not even ITV, lets talk about an ancient guardian wurm here) hate list.... tell me how long you last.... Because at 53 in ToV(if your guild lets you come) your not in the CH group.... your not even on the rotation list...... your there to gawk at the sights (theres big dragons there) and add your sorry attempt (and it is sorry) at damage to help bring down a mob being tanked by at least a 60+ toon..(with three others awaiting his death which is very probable) 2nd flame.......:"now if we shut the warriors up they might notice that they only there to take damage not deal it..thats the REAL classes jobs :) " can you outdamage a similarly leveled/equipped warrior?? I don't think so.. I use a windblade, with Cchw and I can't. The only way you can gain aggro from a warrior is with your spells. they generate considerable amount of aggro...hence you move up the list. Man it kills me some of the stupid stuff people post on these boards.. Please know your class before you make us all look like idiots when you post drivel.
The person posting this realhy needs to look at himself.. we are talking about being able to proc nife (250pts) evrey few seconds here.. thats so much damage that the soling pally would kill the mob long 4b it killed him.. and the guilded grouped pally killin a big mob will be using his real weapons..
and oh, btw, it's not the frequency of hits that draws aggro, it's the total damage within a given time frame. (please try to understand this, ask for help). at 6 damage its not going to draw aggro on an orc pawn. how much you pay for account on ebay!?
I know drawing aggro is a controversial subject, and everybody agrees that a lot of damage gets a lot of aggro. However, the number of hits also draws aggro. I think it is a smaller factor than overall damage, but from my experience the number of hits will definitely draw aggro... even when hitting for super-small amounts of damage. My rogue, when equiped with higher ratio, lower damage weapons will pull aggro even faster than my higher damage, lower aggro weapons. I'd love to see other rogues comment on this subject. I'm not saying I'm 100% correct on this issue, as there could be other factors playing into my low-delay gaining-aggro experiences... just adding my observations.
I just had a very frightening thought. All weapons have a damage bonus. Its more for 2 handed weapons but for my warrior (49th level) it is like 8 points on a one hander. This damage goes directly into calculating damage so this weapon for a pali of similar level (I know a warrior cant use it) would be swinging around a 1hs that is 10 damage 6 delay even before haste is calculated. Thats about as insane as it gets folks. A pali with that kind of weapon had better have a TON of AC and HP or he is gonna get smeared really quick from the aggro he draws.
Sorry Tasen, but Mr. 59 CASTER is correct.. read up before you start talking.. just cause you hit for 21 doesnt mean it adds to the base weap damage.. what was the min damage you hit for? i bet it was 1 + 7 (your damage bonus).. less posting, more reading for you..
if that were really true, a lot more people would be using 2h weaps than they do.. having like 40 damage with 40 bonus would get like 400-500 damage normal hits.. and that doesnt happen.. think about it..
Even better, how about tanking something, and having the cleric reverse damage shield, that heals you each hit. You'd heal yourself for tons of hp over a fight.
U people are retarted it is 6del that is friggin great for anybody u know how fast u would be hitting who cares about the dm the del is more important like i am lvl 45 with that weapon i would be hitting like at least 20 every time lets see 20dm and 6del think about it for a sec u might understand something.........THINK.....

actually no. First off you can't haste any weapon below 10dly, as this is already below that haste has no effect on it. And even at 100%haste, if it were possible to haste this, it would only be a 3 delay. A simple formula for calculating the adjusted delay from haste is this
1+(the haste in decimal form)FBSS .21=1.21
now divide the delay of the weapon by that number
for a wurmslayer and FBSS its 40/1.21= roughly 33delay and a Wurmslayer at 100% haste is only 20delay.
so effectively nothing below 20delay can be fully hastened.
no that is the incorrect. the way to determine the delay with haste is to take the delay givin and multiply it by the %haste as a decimal, then subtract it from the original delay...
wurmslayer is 40 delay fbss is 21%haste 40 x .21 is 8.4 40 - 8.4 = 31.6 which would be calculated as approximatly 32 delay
so back to the 6 delay sword: 6 x .21 = 1.26 6 - 1.26 = 4.74 ~ 5 delay
I do not know if there is a cap on what can be hasted, but this is how you can figure your own delay.
ok so let me educate you about how the damage bonus works. For every 3 levels, 25 and higher, you get effectively 1 extra point of damage rating on the weapon. At 60 that would make this roughly a 16 / 6 weapon. Insane.

Bazzt Zzzt with this sword has a 6 delay on her attack.. 850 damage per swing, 6 delay... Yes, and she double-attacks... Go Orth, grats on your blade :-)
