Do a search for range slot, narrow it down for your class, then narrow by ac and see how many items come up. I'm a Druid and found only a handful of items I can equip in range slot with ac stats. Only 3 of those are sellable (rest are no drop). I was recently offered 200pp for my ball peen and turned the offer down, the next best thing for a druid to equip in range slot, with ac stat is the crystal orb. That sells for around 3Kpp. Anyone fortunate enough to buy one of these for the price listed above should count ye auld lucky stars =)
If you want AC in range slot, Druids (as well as clerics and shamans) can use a 3ac protection deity, which sell for about 10pp...ask your local potter.
I may very well be wrong, but off the top of my head, I can't think of too many other low level 1HB weapons that monks can use that are this light. Add in the stats, and it's a pretty nice weapon for a lower level, untwinked monk to use to practice 1HB.
Well, I am on the Rathe. I have been camping the smithy and foodmaster with my 17th level druid. I have killed the smithy 24 times. Out of those 24 times, the hammer has dropped one time. The empty large crate has dropped four times. The rest of the time has been nothing to various bronze and soft wicker.
To the best of my knowledge there has been 1 of these dropped on my server in the 2 days the Warrens has been open. I think that puts this item in the rare class at least, if not very.
This weapon is range slot equipable. I have it equiped there now. I'm also using my morning star and sheild. I dont use a bow so the + stats are great. I have to say that I GREATLY disagree with price quote here. This item is very rare on Morell Thule. For the past 2 days I've been in Warrens and been talking to everyone camping Smithy. Nobody else has gotten one yet. I've already turned down offers for up to 50pp and there has been speculation of it's value up to 250pp. I have to say that I love mine, feel special having it, and theres no way in heck I'm selling it for 30pp.

It sits in my Ranged Weapon slot as I type this. The AC an HPs aren't useful to me at all, but being a dwarven cleric, the +2STR comes in real handy whilst trying to wear full bronze. 2 cps worth.

Not necessarily. My bard currently has a dragoon dirk in his range slot (for no good reason, really), yet the dragoon dirk doesn't have RANGE listed as a slot. The "Range: x" allows it to go in the range slot too.
I think the RANGE slot listing is for items that are to go in the range slot but should not be throwable.
ok, at first you think, wow this has got to be the biggest POS ever, but then if it could be range slot equipt it wouldn't be that bad, as long as you dont use a bow... so can anyone tell me if this is range slot equiptable?!?!
Carrying capacity is only one of the things str affects...it also affects how hard you hit, success rate in smithing, etc. If I was well under my weight limit, sure, I'd take the extra weight to get 2 more str plus the other stats. I wouldn't be giving up str, just carrying capacity.
It says in the item description "this item can be equipped in the range slot". There are people who will insult your intellegence for an oversight like that.
This is going to end up on a pet... +2 STR: will only add +1 ATK. 1 AC: I sure will be getting hit so much less with that(lol). 4 hp: That is what? Not even one hit right there?
I dunno - as far as range slot items go, this is pretty decent for the level. What good range items can you camp at 30? None, far as I know. Not great, but better than nothing. If I was playing my warrior, I'd put this in instead of my bow unless I was pulling. Cool item IMO, hope more decent mid-level stuff comes out of the Warrens.
Ill take the runed bone fork over this item anyday. it can be obtained at a lower level than this anyway. + 10 to magic fire and ice sure help a lot. resists are important.
although this is good for a rangeslot item for classes that cant use piercing weapons. especially for lower level. perhaps a newbie would be happy if they were oh around level 15 to 20? they might have enough money to buy this. its not a waste, its all about economy and lower level players able to get something decent at lower levels.
Actually, the guy who drops this is only about lvl 15, so it is pretty good for any druid or cleric who doesn't have something in their range slot and who isn't twinked out already
