You're gonna seek this thing out and pay a ton for it simply because it doesn't drop anymore and for what?? As a conversation piece?? This is lowbie trash. You can do much better in bazaar without paying a fortune.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and make a guess as to the true value of this thing if it or something similar turns up in Bazaar. This thing should trade in the 40-50PP range And that's assigning a value of 1PP for each point of WIS and 1PP for each point of Mana (a WIS caster or hybrid should be willing to pay at least that much for those two stats) plus the value of a typical Magic 12/32 2HB weapon. You pay more than that, you're an idiot. And don't forget about the deity tag. If you don't follow Karana, you can't use it even if your race/class says you can. This severely limits the number of people who will be wanting to buy one of these.

Having many human characters, I can tell you all about this thing.
Cros Treewind was supposedly "slain and eaten" by a grizzly bear(which is what this dropped off of). It was a rare spawn(and reaked havoc on newbs while it was up) and was quite high in level. This went on for a couple weeks until the GM event happened of Cros Treewind's funeral(I am pretty sure this wasnt only on Tallon). Items were given out, including a raincaller.
Anyway, This is no longer dropped, and its just one of those things that you use to say, "hey, i got one of these in a GM event!"

Oh boy a 2hb version of the dark ember, only with an extra 10 mana, and no proc. How useless. Anyone who'd have enough plat to buy this, could quest a testament of vanear, and buy a sharkbone hammer, and come out way ahead on stats and not lose too much on damage/delay. I can see why they took it out of the game. Nobody would use it past the point that they could get a decent secondary held item.

i was medding on my 37 pally, and i had my friend with me 35 ranger, and he started kicking my ***, but we got him down, took lots of ranger kiting and me medding to use my crappy heals lol but i got the staff, its nice, karana only, i think im gonna keep it since it no longer drops
First time I saw this weapon it dropped off ... Cros Treewind himself. It may still drop off him if he is still around might try looking there. Unless of course he no longer spawns in Q hills. I have not beenback there in some time so I would not know. Thanks

it has been confremed by a GM that the spawn of the defiled grizzly is no longer spawbing. Also was told that this item CAN NOT be traded into Gm's for something else, for i have heard these rumors too. This should make the price sky-rocket (or at least i hope so) because this things are looking to be very rare, never seen another on my server. i am loking to sell, so if you have a decent price, send me a tell in drinal, my name is beekin ubriaco.
I don't know why people flip over items that no longer drop...If they are good items i can understand, then pay a bajillion pp for it, but if it's an item like this, i don't see the price moving much at all in either direction. There are 1hb weapons with a better ratio than this and with better stats too. ah well, hope you can sell if for a bajillion plat, lol. I guess you could equip it and say "this no longer drops and i payed 100 bajillion pp for it!" and some guy might say "cool..." LMAO
p.s. Making it "Karana Diety" Only doesn't help the price much either =P

this weapon is no longer with us but if u want to buy one i am selling one on the luclin server (send me a tell) my name on that server is asalmon. i also will trade. too bad that hes gone though. i liked seeing a giant grizzly the size of king kong taking out the millers, the guards, and some npcs...it was just the greatest thing in the world to see him king their asses. well until he found me :) this weapon truly rocks

Just want to say that the defiled grizly is no longer spawining. I have this weapon, pretty cool, but i want a 1hb (much better for a druid). Supposedly, this was a coupla month/week rare spawn, and you could exchange this weapon for somehting better with a GM. never folowerd up on it but i am SURE that this grizly doesnt spawn anymore. Which should make the prce sky-rocket (good for me) if you want one still, and are on Drinal, send me a tell, i am looking to get rid of it, name Beekin

the Defiled Grizzly spawn in Qeynos Hills, not sure where in the zone but it does in fact spawn in Qeynos Hills I have screen shots of it killing my pet hehe

It Spawns in Qeynos hills. I saw it "once" when I was hunting with my low level ranger near the Barbarian fishing shack. It popped up on my tracker and I laughed at the name "defiled grizzly". I thought someone raped a grizzly in order to defile it.
Note: I have never seen it since and that was a while ago.
