I went and got the Beginner Smith trophy when I was at 40 skill. Worked my skill up to 300 but my trophy only evolved to the Expert Smith trophy. Right now it says it's at 5/7 with 66%. Is there a way to finish evolving the trophy so I can get the quest for the hammer?

I know this is a very very old post. But for current folks.

Once you hit 300, even though you will not skill up (until you buy the AA's and gets allot of new recipies), you have to just keep making the item you were making before (or other) that is above 300 trivial and as of when I post this, every one you create after you hit 300, you will go up 1% on your trophy until you hit level 6. From level 6-7 it will slow down again from (depending on the tradeskill) 6/10 attempts per 1 %.

So I had multiple ones that were in the same boat as this person (as of 11/23/2017) and I just kept making them and noticed it was 1% every time until 300.. Then it slowed down from 6 to evolving level 7 as started above.

Seems the Blacksmith's Adamantine Hammer has changed a little, it now says:

Skill Mod: Blacksmithing 15% (45 Max) - Sent in a Picture

How do you get it over 15% and up to 45%?

What Quest
# May 18 2008 at 5:39 PM Rating: Decent
I was out of the game for 2 years and didnt know about the Tradeskill quest (I am 300 skill level ) till i had done many combines and my GM hammer didnt do anything just stayed at 5%. Its the hammer you get from making the artisan seal. So after mentioning how long it was taking to evolve ( witch it never will ) someone mentioned the NPC out front of Freeport. I went there got the quest, was the Masters quest, and turned in my Hammer thinking it would convert to the trophy that evolves ( HAHA jokes on me ) the judge kept my hammer ( ack what do i use now ( Geerlok )). Well I finished the quest got the letter and the beginer trophy. As directed I went to a forge with my trophy in my hand and put the letter in the forge and hit combine. POOF trophy now at 12% or 6/7 on the evolve scale will have to do many more combines it seems to max this out. Hope this helps you folks who have been out of the game and missed the changes. Good luck and Happy Tradeskilling
Combining Trophies??

I think it would be neat if Sony would make some sort of combining quest for all of the trophies you've obtained once they've been completely evolved. Of course, they'd have to write a program that would configure which TS's are available to which character, but that should be easy enough.

Combining the trophies would certainly take up less space in the bank than having a whole bag full of them! And besides, the Effect of summoning a bag is the same. Just have the final piece include all of the stats from each trophy.

What do you think, fellow tradeskillers??

Experts Trophy

I have my Expert smith trophy and I am a 300 smith. from 250 to 300 my trophy did not evolve once. I dont know ( but I'm told) you can destroy your experts, do the rather SIMPLE masters, and gain 7 in + mods ( 13 for masters ). Sony should fix this crap, it should be a turn in for us Tser's who got to 300 the hard way using the experts.

if you destroyed a trophy, you would have to redo a quest to get a new one

the quest are assigned based on the Level of a skill for a given player

the Highest quest anyone can get from an NPC is the master quests.. for exampke the "Master Smith Test" requires a skill of 300 in smithing.

.. the 7th evolution however, can only be achieved via evolving the 6th trophy. Trophies evolve by doing Non-trivial combines basically.

the thing is that Lots of people prefer to just wait till they have 300 in a skill till they get their trophy, that way they dont waste Hours just doing combines in order to skill up their trophies, hence the mention of 'destroying' trophies, in order to just do a higher skill level tradeskill quest in order to get the next trophy as a reward from the quest as opposed to doing combines to evolve the trophies.

hope this helps

Trophy's Evolve as you skill up on any combine you want as your stats raise when you get to a point where it can evolve it will automaticly you do not have to do all the tests.Whether you get the beginner or master it will evolve on it's own as you work on your skill so DO NOT DESTROY just keep working on skill it will evolve.

I started at beginner now at Freshman and only did beginner test.

That is exactly what DukeLatan said. YOU CAN DESTROY YOU TROPHY!!! That is if you want to redo you quest at a higer level in order to avoid combining for hours on end as previously stated...

Regardless of what anyone thinks, if you get the trophy at an early stage of TSing, it will evolve as you do in your chosen trade. Anyone who destroys a Trophy thinking it will be easier to get the higher lvl trophy than evolving the current trophy is an idiot. For one thing, you have to do combines in order to gain skill. Any combine that is NOT trivial will also increase your Trophy. Therefore, why would you destroy a Trophy that will HELP you do your combines by effectively raising your skill lvl by whatever percentage the current trophy gives? I could understand destroying something that would NOT help you, but this will. Also, every trophy I have, and I have several, has evolved to the next lvl within 2 to 4 combines after reaching the next title lvl of expertise anyway. Therefore, destroying a lower lvl trophy and thinking you will get somewhere faster by waiting till your skill lvl is higher, is just nonsense anyway. I until later in the skill set with my Rogue when he got his Poison Crafting Trophy. He was already at the Expert lvl when he went to get the Trophy quest, and the combines necessary to complete the quest were more detailed, and ingredients harder to come by, than the Beginner quest. Also, everytime he went up a title, the trophy did at almost the same time. Based on that information, it seems much better to me to do the lower lvl quest where the ingredients and combines are easier, and lvl your trophy by doing the chosen skill like your going to anyway, than to wait till you have to gather ingredients that are rare and spread all over Norrath. If you look at what is needed to get the Master Smith trophy, it requires ingredients from MPG and Anguish that are hard to come by. If you do the Beginner quest, what is needed is fairly common, and easily obtainable. And whoever complained about doing endless combines in order to evolve the trophy is not very intelligent. You're going to have to do those same combines to increase your skill anyway. Remember, you can't start at 300 skill. How else do you think you're going to get that level of expertise?

I have the master version of this hammer via evolution from using it. I'm nearing 300 in smithing and from the pace it's evolving it doesn't look like I'll have it fully evolved by then. If that's the case would it just be easier (if it will let you do so) to destroy your current trophy and redo the trpohy quest again to get the fully evolved version?

Can I jump straight to Master Trophy or do I have to do each one in progression?

you can get the master smith trophy if ur skill is 300, but the final evolution Must be reached through doing combines above your skill level.

a friend told me it took him 1200 combines for his master trophy to reach the 7th level. that's a lot of sickles!!

You can jump straight to the master trophy, provided your skill is high enough.
