Fun in ToV
# May 07 2001 at 11:32 PM Rating: Default
You know, if you have an "uber" guild to help you, its quite fun to hunt in ToV, especially for the rewards you get.

man there is no way a lvl 44 warrior could help get this armor in any way, considering u need to be 57+ to be worth having in Temple of Veeshan zone. nice story though

Now did I ever once say I was IN ToV? No. How I assisted them in getting the armor when I was level 44 was I did all the legwork for them, buying gems from places like Velketor's, Kael Drakkal, and occasionally East Commons, then informing them that I got one. In this fashion, quite a few people got pieces of armor they wanted, with one almost getting a full set.

Besides, I went to ToV once at level 46, took one look around, walked right back out... saying "no way in hell I'll live 10 seconds here". Yes, I worked on Dragon faction enough to get to do it. And yes, it IS possible to do it then.

Next time, don't assume that a person's been there to help others get quest armor. I will say it now, outside of that one brief 5 second visit, I have NEVER been to ToV. Nor do I plan on it for a long, long time. There's other ways to do it...
SS armor ac or stats > Kael armor

TARNISHED???
# Mar 10 2001 at 10:38 PM Rating: Default
where o where in the hell is tarnished found?!?! I have fought in icewell keep for two or three levels as well as in skyshrine and never have i seen one piece drop in either of the giant's enemie's towns. this is weird because the thurgadin quests use corroded which drops in kael. so please WHERE does tarnished drop!!
Here is my point
# Mar 10 2001 at 9:20 PM Rating: Decent
The AC on the ARM for KAEL has HIGHER AC then the LEGS.... So either this is wrong or legs are wrong.
Grr! Racist!

So, I remain loyal to my Dwarf cousins and have to get inferior armor? Great. Thanks again, V
RE: Grr! Racist!
# Oct 04 2001 at 9:49 AM Rating: Decent
Ahh, but the difference is, Coldain dorfs have cute puppies and don't try to keel me like other dorfs do. So I'd argue that there's no relation.

Its a choice you make. Live with it. If you feel the need to roleplay brotherly love, then accept the consequences and enojy the games roleplaying aspect.

F Dwarves!
Bet you it's AC 19 not 29 -- nt

Bet you you're wrong.
# Mar 09 2001 at 9:00 AM Rating: Default
Kael armor had its ac heavily upgraded last patch.
RE: Bet you you're wrong.
# Mar 09 2001 at 10:45 AM Rating: Default
besides, 29 ac is perfectly acceptable for a high end item, even for vambs
this has to be wrong
# Mar 08 2001 at 6:06 PM Rating: Default
The arms give more ac then legs from same town. The ac should be around 19-20.
RE: this has to be wrong
# Mar 08 2001 at 6:29 PM Rating: Default
Nope, all armor has been SERIOUSLY upgraded in kael
RE: Thurgadin armour screwed over this
# Mar 09 2001 at 12:33 AM Rating: Default
bah, one thing said, verant screwed up similiar quests for different AC. Why get this if the difficulty is of the same??
RE: Thurgadin armour screwed over this
# Mar 09 2001 at 12:33 AM Rating: Default
Er sorry that's why bother with Thurgadin armour.
RE: Thurgadin armour screwed over this
# Mar 09 2001 at 2:41 AM Rating: Default
because thurgadin armor is a LOT easier to get

This stuff is only going to be seen in the *uber guilds* on your servers. The required armor drops in a super nasty place called Temple of Veeshan. From what I remember from being there and killing stuff, everything was 55+ and thats at the entrance. The casual player has Pog or Thugadin quest armor. The more dedicated will get a much high and by far equal risk vs reward.
RE: Thurgadin armour screwed over this
# Mar 09 2001 at 5:07 PM Rating: Decent
Not really. I'm in a guild that's far from what people would call an "uber" guild, yet I've helped people from other guilds that WOULD be considered "uber" to get it. In turn, I've gotten promises, both verbal and e-mail, that when my time comes to go after this stuff, I'll get help from them on it.

It's not about being "uber", it's about cooperation and friendship.

RE: Armor upgrades
# Mar 08 2001 at 7:56 PM Rating: Decent
I have alos heard that the Kael (and Skyshrine) armors have been significantly upgraded in AC values over what they were previously. This makes them far superior to the Thurgadin quest armors.
RE: Armor upgrades
# Mar 08 2001 at 8:40 PM Rating: Default
But these are alot harder to do.
RE: Armor upgrades
# Mar 09 2001 at 12:13 AM Rating: Default
...Which is precisely why they're better than their easy-to-do (in comparison) Thurgadin counterparts. Plus a minority of the people in Velius side with th giants, so yippie for us.
WOW
