Temple of Veeshan, West Wing mobs.
Basically any West Wing mobs (those on Claw of Veeshan faction) can load any of the Kael armor pieces. The gems needed come from various different zones (from Icewell, to Velketor, to Siren's Grotto, to Dragon Necropolis).

Every mob in the West Wing is level 60+ and every single one of them AoEs (fire, cold, or poison). Many are cleric types (complete heals, gate) and they all hit like runaway trucks (290 is the "weakest" per hit for these mobs). Extremely magic resistent (snare often requires multiple attempts even after Tash + Malo + Occulsion) and a buttload of hitpoints.

Generally, this zone requires a minimum of 3 balanced group of 58+ players. You can have lower levels but not too much lower. You definately need a lot of warriors to tank these with defensive (sorry Paladins and SKs won't last very long when you get a "slight" overpull of mobs here--remember, everything is level 60+ so there's virtually no crowd control other than "stick tank/cleric on add and pray").

As for switching factions, it's not very hard. ToV is massive Kromzek faction hits (usually two or three raids through ToV and you're well out of KOS status with Kromzek--who are the Kael armor quest givers). A few raids and you can hit allied without problems (cap a couple of the ToV West Wing dragons and you should see your faction go up REAL fast).

Technically you can be allied with Kromzek and Dorfs. The only real catch for non-shaman classes is the one Kromrif see-invis giant under the bridge leading to Tormax's throne room (the quest givers are behind the throne room). Gleed will aggro on you if you attempt to get past the bridge to reach the quest givers. But get a non-KOS mage to CoH you to the quest givers and you're fine.

Shamans will have to get to non-KOS to Tormax as well since their quest giver is in the same room as the now nerfed Frozen Jesus (nerfed in that his level as been raised) who is on the Tormax faction.
Ancient leather?

Where can I find this stuff? I know Eroded leather drops in Kael and its for the Thurgadin it possible that Ancient leather drops in Thurgadin? Skyshrine maybe?
Better then Rowyl's ...

Those Sleeves are better then the ones you get in Thurgadin. They have 1 AC more and weight just 1.5 compared to the 6.0 from Rowyl's sleeves. To bad you can just chose one side to aid and can't combine your set of armor.

Yea..I know...I am trying to think of ways to raise factions with all groups and I have come to the conclusion it is impossible. One can try but it would take massive efforts to succeed.

Here's what I am doing...
Start out killing the giants. That will raise your faction with Dragons and Dwarves.

Once you have exausted the dwarf city of what you want, Start killing dwarves. That will raise your giant faction, and you should retain your dragon faction.

Do the giant quests. I belive that some of them (if not all) require you to kill dragons, so make sure your faction is pretty high with dragons before you start.

Once you are done in Kael, kill some more of those worthless giants and get faction back with the dragons.

Is it worth it? I dont know yet. If you want all of the cool stuff that you can possibly get in vellious, this is the way to go.

Of course, if I worked at verant and a lot of people were doing this, I would make sure that some SWEET quests were added to each of the cities at some point after everyone has jacked up thier faction so bad in vellious they can never hope to get them... but then again, i am evil.

I wonder if verant reads this, if they will want to hire me? <giggle>

A few patches ago, Verant added the faction nerf... any negative faction hit takes twice as many positive faction hits to reverse. What this means is you will be digging yourself a deeper hole with each switch.
Better stick with one or the other...

The only suggestion I would make would be to get the pieces of armor that you want from the Thurgadin quest than start killing dwarfs to raise faction with the giants. Than get the rest of the armor from the Kael Quests. If I am not mistaken killing dwarfs raises faction with giants and killing giants raises faction with dwarfs. Good luck. I myself am waiting for a few more lvls before I mess with the armor quests.
