I have a 35 mage on Mith-Marr and well, Mages do not get any real croud control other then pets, and agro juggling. Well, sometimes pets die. I understand I dont want to be tanking, but it could be usefull. Not to mention, I could fight with another pet, like Air, and use the stuff to help minimize the amount of problems.

not to mention this is a decently low ratio for training 2HB... its by far not the best, but heck, under 40 is nice.

If you gear up your mage to be using this weapon with the idea that you *need* the root to go off, be sure you adjust the rest of your gear so that you have a snowball's chance in Hades of actually getting the weapon to proc.

I have no idea if this is still true or not, but as of Dec. 2004 this item was Beastlord usable- the only BST usable item that has root on it (that's unlimited charges).

I already have this item on my lvl 26 Mage, but for some reason the root ability on it will not work with my mage. So why allow the mage the ability to equip an item like this if it wont work for the mage class? I have tried to use it in direct battle also, and nothing, I still have to use the earth pet if I want to root anything.

as with many items it may not proc till about lvl 35.

The proc effect on all items depends on your DEX. If your DEX is low, very very few procs, if DEX is high, it procs all the time. I have a 52 shaman and can buff my dex up to 200+, my proc items do their jobh all the time. When my DEX is low, no procs.

The level of 18 for the proc on this item is correct.

currently i am using frostgiant femur while i still have to melee during solo but i would use this if i could keep my dex up enough to use when my root breaks and i gotta try to root again. for now though the frostgiant femur procs yaulp 2 at level one. 2hb 25 46 5 ac barb oggie troll vah all with ogre shm symbol quest this gives you yaulp 1 till you proc the femur. just my 2 cents

OK clearly these boards are for discussing the item and giving useful info on the mob(s) that drop the said item.. so please dont use silly messages about WTB.. or "if anyone on "blah blah blah" server has one send -joemama- a tell.. there are other boards for those purposes...USE them so that those of us who are actually looking for useful info can get it while we are here.. instead of scrolling through countless WTB messages..grrr

All you have to do is go to the Equipment For Sale link to the left, click on the server you play on & walah! No more having to use space here that could be better used to discuss the item, mob that drops it, ect...

no price posted for this so i thought i would put in my info. i ran headlong into grizzknot in SK today and took him out. he dropped the bark and this staff. i shouted into the zone for a price check and someone said 1200 (which i doubted) so i continued on to the rathe mountains and shouted that i was selling it and someone make an offer. i gave the stats out to the guy and he offered me 400 so i sold it to him. seemed a fair price for me since i looted it off of a greenie.

My shaman started using this at 18, and it proced fine. Im my oppinion, not useful for a mage, as it dosent proc often enough, and as is 2HB, you cant carry your stein.
