Question
# Dec 21 2002 at 2:17 PM Rating: Decent
This is a little off topic but does anyone know what these look like on a woodelf. I am trying to find greaves that don't look like leahter
#REDACTED, Posted: May 07 2002 at 5:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WTF are you smoking--you can't put these legs in the same sentence as kromrif legs, that's almost as ridiculous as the druid that wanted to roll for CoF. This is semi end game gear--when you get these, you may get something better--and you may not. Kromrif are just stop gap legs between gator and one of the velious faction legs/poh legs for druids. At this point all of the ES gear from Kunark is irrelevant. Yes you heard right, irrelevant. Even after rez the leg effect sucks ***, specially when you got clicky rotg on a tunic. I see ES legs/BP for sell on my server all the time, at high prices cause peeps that quad to 60 will pay, not because they are anything remotely resembling end game gear. Elysian can be solo'd by a druid with epic, just pull to corner and kite, further reducing ES to the realm of the totally obscure.
mana free port

Mana free port is not bad. Several times i was porting some folks but had to wait a while because i had just finish a fight and was oom.

Correct stats are now:

AC14, 6dex, 7wis, 20hp, 70mana, 3sv fire cold

Good luck getting the ancient leather legs in Temple of Veeshan.

Be careful when you wear them. I accidently evaced a group out of ToV because I was used to cast Skin like Diamond from the ES greaves on me after a ress. But I weared the wrong greaves *sigh*
I like the Thurgadin ones better, and here's why...
# Mar 19 2001 at 2:31 AM Rating: Default
If you look at the difference between these and the Thurgadin version, you'll find some interesting things. 1) the Wis and mana are the same, 2)these are lighter by 3.0wt, BUT the Thurg ones have 6str rather than 6dex, 3)Same effect, 4)These have 3sv fire, Thurg have 3sv cold...in Velious, what will do you more good, sv cold or fire...that's right cold; 5)Same effect, and yes this is a good effect, regardless of what any of you say; 6) these have only 2 more AC, which is an acceptible difference IMHO for the 6 extra str and the SV difference PLUS the fact that I won't have to dink around with factions to GET these either...that's a big plus.

Ok, that's just my little rant, like it or lump it.

Actually, cold is not necessarily most important resist in Velious. For dragons in WW and ToV, fire and cold are equally important, with magic being pretty highly important too.

Hmm... If 90%+ of the time you need a lot of cold resist more than fire in Velious, and the other less than 10% you need fire AND cold resist, than which resist is better? COLD is my guess.
My point is...

how are these inferior to kromrif...the only thing kromrif have on these is ac..not a real druid thing..kromrif have 5 wis...these have 7 wis and 70 mana...i know which ones my druid would rather be wearing...gimme the 70 mana anyday plus 7 wis in legs means less needed in another slot for another mana item to fill

as Quillith said...you probably aint a druid..or a very smart one anyway...

druid "A" is soling in a dungeon he/she gets a little more then they can handle goes oom while killing last mob barely roots second one but fear not he can use his greaves to escape other then that i realy dont see the use.is circle a group gate or single ?
RE: just a thought
# Aug 10 2001 at 2:00 PM Rating: Decent
You got the wrong thinking. Circle is a group port btw and if your in a dungeon and want an evac then your gonna use the succor line of spells. The circle spells take an amazing amount of time to cast and if your using this to escape mobs then your really messed up. 1. Succor spells ccost the same aas group ports(300mana) and if your by yourself and you want to escape then Personally I would use gate(fast cast time and only 75 mana) and I would never go oom in a fight especially in a group. I normally tell my group I'm LOM at 40m and OOM at 20m, just so that if things start going to badly I always have enough mana to evac also.

You all are missing the point.....
7Wisdom 70mana, that is awsome. At higher lvls you need High wisdom and high mana. This fits perfect, especially for the leg slots. Most people use Gatorscale until they can get ES which is so rare.

P.S. Hey Tan drop a line sometime..

Most high level Druids use the Rivervale bank when ever they need to unload or hit a bank. It is the closest one to a Druid ring IE Misty Thicket. And Circle is the group port and Ring is the single port.

circle is a group gate. circle of misty is one of the most convenient ports as it is in the middle of antonica and the ring is only about 30 seconds from the nearest bank. saves 300 mana every time you use it, and you will use it a lot. also frees up a spell slot, you don't have to have an evac memmed (if you want to risk the longer cast time).
RE: just a thought
# Feb 27 2001 at 11:26 AM Rating: Decent
I would not want to try using this in place of an Evac. In high level fights that extra 11 seconds mean several party members will die. And using this to Evac a wounded party to Misty if they are KOS to Druids they will be attacked by the littel Druids at this ring.

I bank in Rivervale all the time. So instead of using the 150 mana to use the Ring of Misty, I will use this instead. The only problem might be when you are in a group, but just move away from them or disband

what?!
# Feb 26 2001 at 8:49 PM Rating: Default
These are a druid's dream greaves, so what if it takes 20 seconds to cast and can't stop once you start, only will a druid ACCIDENTLY hit the hotbutton to cast it on rare occasions. 7 wis and 70 mana is worth the possible waste of 20 seconds
