#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 16 2003 at 12:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well I've only been playing a year or so now, and am in a very strong guild so i've learned much. Shadowknights (in groups or raids) are excellent for aggro control. And IMHO are better at FD pulling the monks, we get the gear/hp to take the hits better then monks. Fear Kiting is a god send when it comes to soloing, and my brother an epic 64 warrior, hates some of the weapons I've got (look at the "Shard of Night" for example) Warriors would kill to have weapons with that kind of ratio on them. I'm sure to be flamed for this post but oh well, its just a game! SK's are hard to play. But if done right can be damn near untouchable at high levels. my 64 epic warrior brother is also ticked that as an Ogre Shadowknight i'm invulnerable to front side stunning. yet another perk to being an FD puller. Personally I think SoE built Sk's to deal with group aggro control. I've had to save the raid a few times by pulling aggro off the only healer left by snaring and dotting many times. Thats what we're there for, aggro control and dps. Nuff said

You obviously haven't seen a warrior demand aggro with this 2hander. I used to be skeptical of warriors using a 2 hand weapon until I got to see a few using this.

hrm. i hope you dont dual wield while tanking in higher level pop zones, where mobs reposte constantly. imho one should be using a good 2hs in these zones, and a good one like a windblade is fine for agro. though anywhere else, yes, dual weild is the only way to go...

the most important reason for a warrior to duel wield is the extra 125hp and, most importantly, the extra agro gaining proc from the weapon.

Shadow Knight balancing
# May 15 2001 at 12:27 AM Rating: Decent
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but have you all considered something about SKs? Namely that they are listed as "very difficult" to play. For all those whining morons out there complaining about all the nice Shadow Knight equipment, consider what SKs have to go through. They are hated throughout Norrath. Faction alone prevents them from moving around much prior to level 20 or so. Even after wards, they have to pick and choose their factions carefully everywhere. It's a big game for them. To top it off, they must constantly deal with the "paper tank" name calling from PAL/WAR classes, along with "pretend melee" from RNG classes. WAR/PAL classes can out-tank. RNG can out-melee. SKs are one of the most "balanced" classes in the game, if your definition of "balance" means it takes every trick in the book to survive. SKs can't go into a battle and expect to melee it out, even with these uber weapons. The can't expect to out-tank a paladin or warrior, where the warrior has higher AC and offensive skills and will simply out-melee the SK. The paladin will generally have a higher AC and can heal much more effectively than the SK. The ranger will out-melee, root, and "death by arrows" the SK.

For an SK to overcome this, they have to use everything they are given. This includes fearing, dotting, bashing, healing, and meleeing.

Yeah, Verant had a hard-on for SKs. But considering the difficulty of the class, I think it's appropriate.

You, sir, are a ****** :) but ill go easy on you due to your low level. SK's have the best agro in the game imo, followed closely by paladins rogues rangers and other melee. If you think you have it bad, try being an agnostic troll warrior (the most hated race, next to iksar). no spells. nothing. nothing but our taunt/beg buttons. try being a KOS warrior bud, then you can whine about agro. i work my *** off every exp group holding agro from rogues, rangers, paladins, and the worst, shadow knights.

a SK can out tank any class in the game, the only reason they dont is because of their lower HPs and AC.

for this reason, i was almost at the delete button multiple times, ready to twink down and start a SK. Glad i kept my warrior.

Id like to see the pally that easily outtanks a SK... SK should have equivilant hp/ac, and better spells for use during combat... who gives a **** if pallys can heal, I would also like to see a pally who can heal while tanking past lvl 30 (and it would be tough even before that)... SKs can tap just about every melee stat the mob has... Str, ac, atk rating, hp... These are also great aggro builders. SK can build aggro more rapidly than ANY other class, why the hell do you think all the uber guilds use SK as secondary assists? For non-uber mobs, sks make great main assists too. A well equipped SK should have about the same ac as a warrior and better aggro control, the only reason wars tank the uber mobs is they have defensive, a discipline that cuts the damage they take by about 80%, but that isnt always available...

Man, its one thing to dis someone else's class with no basis, but dis your own w/o due cause? comeone, what is the world coming to?
RE: Shadow Knight balancing
# Jul 10 2001 at 10:45 AM Rating: Decent
It really all depends on your race and equipment setup. Personally, I believe I can outtank and outdamage about 90% of warriors of equal level, and a higher % of paladins. Ebon Mace is 19/24 1hb SK only. Tack on a 25ac shield to make up for SK's lower AC armor, toss in the shadow vortex line of spells, and a good SK is easily on par with a warrior for tanking skills and dmg output.

# Dec 09 2002 at 10:32 PM Rating: Decent
First, Radahsam, sup man, why's the SP website down for like 4 days now? (12.09.02 atm)

On to the post.. Disease cloud is not your most powerful taunt post 50. it's great up til then, works well in DL, but once you start raiding it's a different game. Besides, as an SK, you don't WANT to take the agro because you're such a ***** tank (look at the pally ac, hp base, the gear, the AA and spells). Now, obviously you're not gonna have ur pally tanking either in a serious raid. warriors will always win hands down.

that having been said, SKs, Pally, warriors are not among the damage dealing classes. They do some damage because they're melee (and for class balancing purposes, because it accumulates agro), but the real dmg dealers are rogue, wizards, and rangers (with the new AA and the bows, rangers have become much akin to wizards with their distance attacks, although you don't have to worry about resists, just misses).

Now, as far as the agro game goes, that's why SK's were given the voice spells... because SK's are the "masters" of agro-control (except perhaps bards), why not give them a way to enhance the agro of others. Great idea on VI's part.

Mix and Match
# May 10 2001 at 11:51 AM Rating: Decent
With the Black Rock Maul, and say a Fearsome Shield, you would be doing some pretty crazy damage, be able to bash, and get some nice AC boost to boot. It'd be close versus the Curse epic since that weapon does a lot of damamge and has the Soul Consumption process.

But I think a valid point was made earlier: The reason SK weapons, especially at higher levels, tend to be better than Warrior weapons is because the Warrior has dual wield and the SK does not. Hence the SK gets weapons with higher damage outputs than the Warrior to help make up for the differential. Now, because the Warrior will have higher ATK due to higher skill caps, the Warrior will do more damage in hand to hand, as the Warrior should do (such is the likewise case for both the Rogue and the Monk). But while SKs, and Paladins too, do not do as much raw hand to hand damage as non-hybrids, the spell abilities and better weaponry of the hybrid classes help to offset this differential. I mean, Warriors may have more HP, but they don't get the ability to spell blast opponents with massive Life Taps at higher levels, or cast healing spells... All in all it balances out.
RE: Mix and Match
# Dec 09 2002 at 10:35 PM Rating: Decent
also like to note that SK 2h weapons have to be better simply because they're 2h. warriors get stats and dmg from BOTH primary and secondary, giving them at least an extra 125hp (if the SK and Warrior both have the best gear they possibly can).

as far as 1h weaons go, you're dead on. the dmg/dly has to be a little better than war 1h to make up for the lack of duel wield.

i still wouldn't wanna see an sk using a shield, though, unless there's just an unavailability of equipment.

I wouldn't complain too much about the epics. 25 ac on a 2 hander is pretty awesome. Sadly it is true that our 1 handers at higher lvls are better than yours. Although sword of morning w/ its proc is pretty much even w/ the noctivagant blade IMO. If you have seen the Dragon Claw shard its PAL/SHD only, 20 24 if I remember correctly. DOn't worry, you're velious uber weapons will be along shortly. Its just too bad verant screwed up w/ the Paladin weapons in Kunark.

Oh yeah, one more thing, Paladins had it much better in terms of weapons awhile ago, e.g. Ghoulbane, good ration, awesome proc. To this day there is not a single SK equivalent for the lvl you can get this thing at. Oh and there was that little monopoly having the original FA weapon.

# Feb 27 2001 at 3:37 PM Rating: Excellent
Im a lvl 45 SK with a MOSS (19/29). Prior to lvl 40 I was a tanking machine, I pretty much outdamaged any tank in the group and could duel warriors without using magic. However at lvl 40 my offense and 1hb capped. And as I keep leveling, I keep missing MORE AND MORE. I have heard of many SK's complain that they can't hit the broad side of a barn lvl 50+. And if this missing trend continues, I will be one of them.
Considering that you have to be lvl 55+ (or have lots of friends that are) to get this weapon, does it really "outbalance" us at all? That is, if we have such a high miss ratio, what does it matter that this weapon has an insane dam/del ratio. We need this kind of weapon to balance out the fact that we can't hit.
Personally I'd rather have the epic. The weapon will proc if you hit or not, and you have the ability to cast between hits(or misses as the case may be). A 23 delay is too short a period to get any spell in and still be effective. The saves on the epic are also a nice plus. And as was mentioned, the soft cap doesnt give as much as an AC advantage as one would wish for after 1100 anyways.

Whining? Explaining that we need a sweet ratio weapon to offset our misses isnt whining.
Whining is when you go to a message board every time that a new weapon is found better than what is currently found for your class and complaining about it.
I find it quite amusing how many people would rather a good piece of equipment not be released just because they can't use it. Guess what: everquest is a teamwork game (aside from the few soloers). So instead of griping about it, maybe you should be happy that someone in your group can now do more damage.
On the comment about 1h weapons. Best 1hb is the rod of annihilation: caster only. Best 1hs is dragon shard: which both SK's and Pally's can use.
I'm only considering ratio when i make these statements.
I found out caps for offence on castersrealm, and it appears that SK's do cap at 225 for offence and weapon skills. My guess is that their is a soft cap until lvl 50, since my offence and weapon skills havent gone up for 6 lvls (since 40). If anyone out there could confirm the soft cap, that would be great.

The dragonclaw shard is NOT the best 1hs... Frostwrath is better (24dmg, 22dly, lots of stats, cold dd proc....) and I'd be loath to say its the best 1hs...

shadowknights aernt around to deal damage, if your high enough to be posting on this item you should know this by now.

admited at 60 they can deal a great deal of damage, but they are much more effective doing other things (similar to enchanters and thier pets + dots + nukes could do alot of dmg.. but I dont think I have ever seen that happen, and I hope I never do)
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 26 2001 at 7:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey guys, why not give the classes that are supposed to do the most damage the most damaging weapons??...instead you give a weap that out-does most epics to a hybrid *shakes his head*...think about it.

I still don't get what people are complaining about. WARRIORS ARE STILL MORE WANTED AS TANKS THAN SHADOW KNIGHTS. they always will be. Yeah, rangers have equal melee caps as warriors. Yeah, SKs and Paladins have equal defense caps as warriors. We're 2 different classes. You guys have it all wrapped into one. Not to mention more HP, duel wield (ranger excluded from that) and disiplines that beat the snot out of hybrids. Most of our spells are pretty novelty post 50, sure then help, but not very much, certainly not more than having more HP and duel wield. Quit ********* you are still more wanted as tanks for regular groups and epic encounters than any hybrid will ever be, with this weapon or without.

Exactly. People here are comparing apples to oranges. Of course you can't compare a one-handed weapon strictly for people who CANNOT dual wield to a one-handed weapon for people who CAN dual wield. The hybrid-only weapon has to be inflated so that the hybrid can have a chance at coming close to a non-hybrid's damage output. The stats on this weapon are good, but there are several much more easily gotten warrior weapons which could defeat an SK wielding this item.
RE: screw you Verant...
# Feb 27 2001 at 8:42 AM Rating: Default
They have thought about it, obviously more than you have. Shadowknights cannot dual wield, making them deal so much less damage than a warrior that they are not wanted in groups. All of the high level paladin-only and shadowknight-only one-handed weapons are inflated to outdamage warrior weapons because of this. Have you ever seen a high level warrior or rogue use a shield? No, because with dual wield they can easily outdamage paladin/SK one-handed weapons, including this one.
RE: screw you Verant...
# Mar 01 2001 at 12:00 AM Rating: Default
So? The point is a SK or a Pal is NOT supposed to EQUAL damage of war/mnk/rog otherwise they'd have given these three classes spells as well. Think about this, a ranger is a hybrid with dualwield yet they have better 1handed weapons than what warriors get. Oh no they don't get as much HP? They aren't supposed to they can heal themselves, buff themselves, and cause harm through magic to targets yet verant has given them the "Exact same skill caps" in offensive melee skills as warriors in their last patch. They've also made this change to SK and PAL defensive skill caps. So what does this mean? It means an SK with this weapon would outdamage a warrior with his epic weapon, then get hit for same amounts of damage as a warrior would then regain his life by simply life taping target for 200+ dmg which not only heals them but does a fair ammount of damage as well. So I agree ***** verant. They gave casters epic weapons woth uber dmg/del that a melee would drool over yet warriors get 13/24 swords which are DROPPED by mobs in SEBILIS and they aren't even dragons or gods they're just rare off certain MoBs. fat chance you'll ever see a warrior weapon with 20/23 delay and I'm talking one or TWO handed. I guess they should stick to their 9/19 and 12/24's while SKs use 20/23's and shields that add more AC than warrior planes BP give. Sounds fair to me.
RE: screw you Verant...
# Mar 05 2001 at 1:16 AM Rating: Default
Again it seems you warriors are missing the VERY important fact that we SKs at higher levels CANNOT hit ANYTHING. Giving us a higher damage weapon is a small consolation to the fact that we will rarely connect with it to actually witness this high damage. Yes this is a better weapon than just about any warrior item out there, but warriors use their "inferior" weapons with much greater skill and no doubt could still kick my *** seven days a week and twice on Sunday. Your ego has nothing to fear from us.

I can't help but think that perhaps I DID in fact think about this issue more than Verant Interactive did. Verant, as much as the claim otherwise, release things without testing them completely ALL THE TIME...*shrug* I can't be sure why, maybe they have a good reason, but personally (nothing against SK's) I am a firm believer that this weapon should NOT exist. People may say "Well, it drops in Necropois so not it isn't over powering because only a few people will have them."...but think about this; at one point verant put a 100 damage 15 delay weapon (or something of comparable power) on a monster in PoA that they figured nobody would kill. Fires of Heavan (guild on Veeshan server) killed that mob and got the weap, though it was no rent (so it poofed when they logged), it was overpowering none-the-less. Of course this item was removed after Verant realized it was attainable. Just a few weeks back Triton (guild on Povar) destroyed PoA with only 11 people, a place that used to be considered impossible. The point is, soon enough, the Temple of Veeshan will be farmed like everything else that used to be impossible. So more and more SK's get the weapons, and more and more SK's will be more powerfull than they are SUPPOSED to be...
I understand everybody has their own opinion, I have nothing against anybody that posted views in contrast to mine, just thought i'd state what i think in extent of what i posted at first.

I'd like to see an SK outdamage a warrior with Bloodfrenzy and an Acrylica Handled Broadsword. I don't care if the SK has this or a frostwrath or a petrified heartwood flameberge or anything else equippable by an SK; duel wield offsets the damage that SK weapons do considerably. If you think we'll outdamage you with spells, you're sadly mistaken, most SK spells are simply underpowered necro spells, meaning that the equivilant necro spell overrides it in alot of cases... The dots do more harm than good on a raid alot of the time and lifetaps don't add up to much. SK's get weapons like this to counterbalance warrior's duel wield, and even then, the scale still leans noticably in the direction of the warrior. If you want to ***** about SKs doing too much damage (which i happen to find laughable, SKs do **** for damage), then worry about things like blindfoe and petrefied heartwood flameberge. Both are uber 2hs weapons which will easily outdamage this weapon, which isnt even the best SK 1hander. I'd take a frostwrath over this any day, 24/22, 20ac 180dd proc, and some other stats, 1hs pal/sk. Is a frostwrath overpowering? hell no, its still far behind duel wielding a pair of far more easily attained weapons. It wouldn't surprise me if a seb croaking dirk/swiftblade of zek and a frostbringer outtdamaged this, they would at the very least do comperable damage and you can get a scd/fb for a total of about 20k.

Also, there are 13/19 and similar war weapons which drop in NToV. A pair of weapons like that would own this with ease.

Once again as has been mentioned before. THIS IS THE FIRST UBER WEAPON FOUND! THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT WARRIOR, PALLY , AND RANGER UBER WEAPONS DONT ALSO DROP. ToV is still pretty undiscovered. One of the class's weapons had to be found first. This time it was the SK.
And just because a warrior/paladin/ranger weapon has not been listed on this website (which i find to be the best for current equipment), it does not mean that one hasnt been found. It just means that is hasn;t been reported. Quite often when items are first found, the finders try to keep it hush hush so it doesn't become a camping nightmare before they can exploit it themselves.

Verant's "official" Hybrid Template
# Feb 25 2001 at 7:59 PM Rating: Good
So you know, with all the balancing going on, Verant is settling the Hybrids into the roles they perceive for them, and the weapons being doled out are a reflection of that. I've seen a post by Alan "Absor" VanCouvring on the EQ boards saying Rangers are the Offensive Hybrid, and Paladins and Shadow Knights are the Defensive ones. Also, they steer the classes toward the weapons they're "intended" to use, without totally cutting off options for those not inclined to use what's designed. Rangers are meant to use two weapons (hence Dual Wield), Paladins are encouraged to use 2Handers, and Shadow Knights are encouraged to use 1Handers with a Shield. Note this isn't definitive: All hybrids can use most generic 2Hand Swords (class list on all of 'em is WAR RNG PAL SHD), all hybrids can use shields, and all hybrids can use 1Handers. ...but you almost never see a Ranger with a shield or a two-hander, and SKs are getting weapons and shields now to be encouraged to use them. They can still go two-handed if they want, but Verant's trying to get them ready for the level 60+game I'm sure by setting their weapons in place now. Come level 70, I'm sure the balancing will be fine-tuned, and most people will have accepted their appropriately stat-ed Dual Wielders, 2Handers, and Sword/Shield combos.

Just thinking about the future.

...I whole heartedly disagree and rebut your statement.

1) Swarm caller. Excellent mid to high level weapon for rangers. 2 HS.

2) Death Bringers' Rod. One of THE best 2 handed blunt weapons for shadowknights...

3) A Dark Reaver. The ORIGINAL SK weapon. Still widely used for it's awesome look.

4) Soul Leech, Dark Sword of Blood. Desputably the best sword in the plains. SK only.

5) Messenger of the Queen. 2 Handed piercing.(?) Paladin only...

Furthermore, if you played a viable high level melee class, you'd realized that when playing such a class, weapons are constantly rotated to suit the situation. MANY paladins use a Ghoul Bane (note: 2HS) in situations involving undead, along with a shield. In situations involving npc casters, They will typically use a fast 1 hander with a shield.

Rangers are the exception to this. Not a viable class in any high level groups, rangers are an inflexible, weak class that cannot hold their own in melee or duels. Their damage output, using either 2 weapons or a 2 hander in the case of swarm caller, etc, is sharply offset by their horridly low defense cap. Their role as a "Backup tank" is horribly botched, and a monk will readily take their place with higher ac and more evasion and damage skills. Rangers are a drain on clerics and an inconvenience to a group.

All in all, rangers are not a good class, and I do not wish them to be improved because their entire concept is trite and pedestrian. If you had even the slightest premonition of these qualities of hybrids, I'm sure you would swallow your words. Obviously you do not. Keep your flawed opinion to yourself until you can find any evidence or specific examples to back it up...

Palladins and shadowknights may indeed be unbalanced; i wouldn't know, i don't play one.

i, however, do play a ranger or two, and dissagree with the opinion that the "entire [ranger] concept is trite and pedestrian" nor do i agree that they are "not a viable class in any high level groups."

if you think the entire ranger conspet is off the mark in fantastic lore, you are sorely mistaken. take a read of tolkien's ring trilogy and compare the characters described in those books for an example: almost all of them are clearly definable as being a base for one of these classes. not to say that the folks at verant decided to go all out and completly rip our beloved character classes straight from the pages of tolkien's books, but the ring trilogy is a very definative benchmark for fantasy and roleplaying measure and base.

who was the ranger in this book? and, better yet, was he "trite?" how about "pedestrian?"

also, if you want to go even further back than that, take a look at robin hood. every kid knows the fairy tale, and ole' rob was a palladin/ranger cross.

i don't read fantasy a whole lot, i'm normally a horror guy, but it seems that ranger's have some of the deepest roots in the fantasy fiction/lore world, along with warriors, palladins, and wizards. if you are looking for a class that's completly baseless, look at clerics. never once have i read of a group of characters in a book having a battle doctor that was able to instantly cure all ilness and malady with a spell or a look or anything. i, on the other hand, have read many books with wonderful priest-class characters, but none fit the description of the cleric class as defined by verant. the cleric class was a "we absolutly must have a battledoc or everyone will die" class, created for one purpose, and not out of any mythic figures from fantasy fiction.

if any class is "trite and pedestrian" it's clerics, based on the history of the character class, and not the character class's usefulness.

also, on a ranger's usfulness in a group:
you are thinking too much about a classes specific innate abilities and not that much about the actual player behind the character. i know several characters of every class that i automatically do not play with, because of the people behind the character. it's way too objective to say, "hey, i'd rather have a monk in my group than a ranger." it's never that easy. more like, "i'd rather have a good ranger in my group than a bad monk." or, on the inverse, "this particular ranger doesn't know how to use his/her abilities to the fullest extent of the character, so i'd rather have a monk."

thusly: ranger's do in fact have a whole lot of history, bringing the concept of the class beyond trite. also, it's more about the individual player than the class at all, when it comes to definable innate differences that are similar.

oh, yeah, one more thing: since when do leather wearing monks have a higher ac than chain wearing rangers? the very idea is off base. look up some ranger gear and monk gear, and check it out before you post, palladin.

Monks do have a higher AC than rangers in the upper lvls do to their natural AC bonus. Though I do agree that every class (when played well) has it's role :)

So I ask you all, *WHY* do you think Verant gives SHD's such *good* weapons and armor? For just about EVERY single Paladin 1 hander, I can think of a better SHD 1 hander. Mind you, their epic's ratio is > Paladin's epic's ratio. The proc on it makes it VERY powerful, all we get is another DD+Stun...not bad, but SHD's can heal themself 250 hp in 5 ticks *REPEATEDELY*. Enough about the epic though. Ebon Mace, MoSS, Noct blade...all damn good 1 handers that MOST high level SHD's can attain, and better than any Paladin weapons of the same caliber. Hmm let's see...oh yes, Bloodruned armor! Someone look up that; gaze in awe at it's AC...note WAR SHD only. *sigh* I could go on, but I ask all of you why YOU think Verant does this?

Quit your crying,

Why don't sks have a quest like that east quest for the Nature's Defender. Verant does a semi decent job of balancing even though it may not be so obvious.
RE: why... 'o why
# Feb 27 2001 at 3:40 AM Rating: Default
Just FYI...Nature's Defender is only usable by half of the Paladin races (Elves) and I'd say the minority of all Paladins. So yes, the quest may be slightly easy, but most can't use it.
Like myself (Human Paladin).
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 01 2001 at 5:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ill tell you why, cause Paladins suck **** and derserve to get **** weapons cause their all ******* following a false god. lamest class ive ever played. if you hate being a paladin, try being a SK its alot more fun..
SK = Offensive Paladin = Defensive

There may be a equivalent for paladins out there, but it wont have the crazy dmg dly ratio. It will have better ac, and probably a proc with defensive abilities.
There may exist a PAL equivalent.

Mace of the Shadowed Soul is 1hb as well and it's 19dmg, 29dly, +10int. Sells for 4-8k depending on your server. I love mine, but I still want to get my hands on Greenmist >=(
who says...
# Feb 24 2001 at 5:35 PM Rating: Default
who says sk's shouldnt do 1hb. and who says that sk's cant use both this and the particle wep, alternating using bash wisely to stop casters!!
SK's can bash with the epic weapon, buddy

I am wracking my brain... Still, I cannot think of a single weapon that is better than this one outright. It has a simply insane ratio, insane plusses to all key stats and it enjoys 15AC on the item itself? Can anyone confirm that this is actually in the game? If so, any SK weilding it would be a happy fellow indeed.

I am fairly certain you would be better off with this and a high-end shield than using the epic.

Epic: Damage: 40/45 Str: +20 Dex: +15 Int: +15 Magic Resist: +15 Fire Resist: +10 Cold Resist: +10 Poison Resist: +5 Disease Resist: +5 HP: +60 Mana: +40 with a lifetap proc

This puppy and a Shield of the Elders for example:
20/23, 55AC(!), Str: +10, Dex: +8, Int: 25(!), 75hp, 75mana, Sta: +15, Agi: +8, Wis: +15, Cha: +5.

You would lose the resists and the proc but gain a whopping 55 RAW AC, 10int and 35mana. It is close indeed. Sure, the SoE is rare but you can get similar numbers out of an Orb of the Infinite Void, if not better.

shield means bash, which means extra dmg and spell interruption!! mucho importante against casters, which most mobs are. cant wait to get this terrific wep. yes i know ogres and trolls get slam but now de, iks, hum, and eru can interrupt spells and not worry about falling behind the the dmg department.

If you are even able to get this your ac would Prolly be Maxed out. so the Epic would Romp all over this.... Well in My Opinion. Would you Rather be Doing 300+ damage a Hit With a haste Item or Spell? or 150+ a hit going faster then the Epic? I guess it would just be a Prefrence
RE: Good lord.
# Feb 24 2001 at 11:13 AM Rating: Default
AC never maxxes out, idjit... it tapers off past 1100 AC vs. most MOBs, but you fight most of the Velious ubers and you want all the AC you can muster =P

Yet the very reason shadow knights get crazy weapons like this is because they do not get duel weild...

If you did get duel weild, you'd be stuck with 13/20 weapons as your "best" instead of this nifty piece.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 23 2001 at 10:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) from what i've heard Iksar SK's get dual weild, so maybe your dreams may come true hehe

NOT!!! No Shadow Knight is getting Duel Wield.

And remember we get these weapons because we don't duel wield, not the opposite (we don't duel wield because we have these weapons) as some have perposed. Since our AC is sub par for a "tank" the nice 1hb that allow shields is nice. Keep them coming.

You SK's can have dual weild if you give up your extra hps and AC. Oh, and no more pets or platemail. And sorry, gonna have to take Harmtouch too. Now, there ya go Dual weild all you want. But now, of course, you're a ranger, not an SK. Enjoy.

I'm sorry but I don't think it to be so bad. I mean Paladins have what... 2 FA weapons now? And I hardly think a drop from ToV is going to be that common anyway. Just my opinion but I'd say wellfounded. We also don't know whether or not there are going to be some good Pally only drops there (or any other drops for that matter) atm so be a little patient before we send them to the firing squad. (but if that day comes /giggle I'd like to help most definitely.)
