Hmmm, well here is my 2 cents to this page since its such a long time ago there was a post... quest the Shackle of Tynnonium in cabilis, it is WELL worth the time
12ac 10 str/sta/agi 25hp 10svm
after that go questing Whistling Fists for a nice weapon also in cabilis (goes in prim or sec, h2h)
12/20, dmg bonus 11, ac5, 10 str/dex/sta/cha/agi, 50hp, 5 to all saves effect: jonthans whistling warsong
Granite Bracer(IMHO) are better than these Granite Bracers:AC:5 STR:4 STA:7 for 1k-2k less than these and without CHA usless for monks unless its at 255 cap and who has time to get up. well in this you get your ac your str your STA and your hp from STA i think its a little better bargain and sure its .4 stones more but hey what can ya do?
Granites may be better-certainly cheaper (tho I've seen these for way less than 1k lately), but I'm not sure that CHA is useless for us Monks. Seems that my ID and Disarms work better when CHA buffs are up. Granted, ID and disarm have their own set of problems, but they have their uses-especially soloing.
I can't confirm the effectiveness of CHA or it's degree of influence, it's just a feeling I get. Has anyone else noticed this?
Got to looking at some of my stuff while lewting my corpse last night (damn giants hrrrmpphfff) and noticed something odd on my BPS bracers - NOW WEARABLE BY BEASTMASTER! Human, Iksar, and Vah Shir! Looks like Verant is gettin ready.....
Yeah, this stuff is better than the Pplanar armor, but let's face it monk planar armor sux big time. This isn't much better. If you're human, get two symbol of loyalties to vox for 50pp for the set and bang you've got better AC. Iskar time much better spent doing shackle quests. You want the look, go farm gnome skin in Tower of Frozen Shadows. If you can handle the weight Ulthork Hide bracers have the same AC as these for 25pp each. Str is good, but I'll take better AC any day of the week, cause I want to be hit less on my way back to the group with my pull. Resists preffered if I'm pulling a caster. If anything this should be used for twinking you're Low level monks who solo all the time where AC and Str need to be at a halfway decent level.
68 black panther skins took us 2 days to get, plus the yew tannin leaf that is almost impossible to find on the ground (weeks of searching). Getting ore is easy from crystal caverns but expensive to smith, and when it's all done:
68 attempts with a 163 skill resulted in 3 skill raises and 3 pieces of armor, two bracers and one collar. Estimated value of the armor: Chitloads. 10k each piece. It's better than ALMOST ALL of the dang Fear monk armor.
they best monk bracers are dragon bracers or something like that 4 ac per bracer +7 agi +7str per very nice i use them plus i use these cause even in the invintory i can still get the free ac and added stats
Finally Verant puts a use in the trade skills. Ya, jewelry making always had a plus stat, but come on, tailoring just basically SUCKED. Now, if only they could have enough imagination to make a high speed bakery recipe. Idea! Thicken mana, bata wing, frosting, kiss of death (drink in freeport) = Deadman floating biscuits (LMAO). Or maybe, put the rogue poison making ability into the equation?? I understand that they would have to make it difficult and less effective as say alchemy, otherwise they would just steal shamans thunder. Well, I am just glad to see Verant trying to keep its customers happy. Unlike most GMs. **remembers every bad encounter and grows ill** Oh, just one more thing, there are good GMs, they are just a rare spawn it seems. hehehe
this is quite possibly the only piece of blackpanther skin a HUMAN monk would want. iksar shackles owns this...but a human monks only bracer that compares is symbol loyalty to vox. and personally i'd give up the 1ac for the str and hp this offers
first off only the kick *** iskar shackle of steel beats this, this is a bracer that provides ac and str that a monk can wear without it wieghing them down this is a prize iskar monk item,
few questions
how easy is it to make what are the recipies what would the price be in say EC
