I have to agree, this is the BEST tradeable weapon for shd/pal.
It does 19dmg/sec--you can't beat that.

to the guy saying about sta lose ... bro you should know if sta is over 100 (yer stat sta) then you dont get any neg effects of empty STA bar cept that you cant jump... you dont lose weapon speed..

Im a 59 SK. Shard of Night sucks dude. I would much rather wielding this beautiful sword than something that looks like a Dragoon Dirk. Not to mention Shard of Night is the only decent Piercing Weapon a SK should use, therefore we have to work this skill up... A SK wielding a Shard fo Night would not outdamage a SK wielding Massive Dragonclaw Shard.
Well, I'm only a 53 SK, but I have a slightly different opinion on the Shard.
The shard is FAST, and LIGHT. When in MA role (which, as yoiu know, we will often take if not on multi-group raid), the Shard is incredibly effective for aggro maintennce, and my stamaina does not budge even wearing RBG and under 50's Shammy haste. That would not be true with a weapon that weighs, 7.5, and I will take every point of speed I can get for aggro management.
For raw hitting power this has an edge, yes. But when off-tanking and going for both massive damage and an ability to cast between swings, I like a much slower weapon, with a delay 45+ (also get's the 2-hander bonus).
And as for look......geeeesh do I even have to comment? I LOVE to kid about my shard looking like a "Toothpick" and that it's like the blade on a mob blender ;-). For looks I'll wait until I reach your level and quest for the Ethereal Naginata.....

I could care less about looks. If looks is what you base your weapon selection on then fine--I cant & wont agrue with that.

This is not NEARLY worth 30k on eci. It goes for 80k-100k if you can find someone selling this weapon on E'ci.
Yeah this weapon rocks but 30k+?? Shiat, don't get me wrong, it is worth it but still. Warriors can spend 20k get a Frostbringer and LSoEE or something similiar and outdamage a paladin even though the paladin hase spent like double on his weapon. Any really good 1hs is gonna be hella expensive and i don't feel like spending that much just for a sword that i still will get outdamaged and outtaunted by with a warrior who has spent like 1/3 as much as me on his weapons.

I just got one of these last night it is 28dmg 30dly 3wis 3int. I would strongly suggest to all paladins and sk's to put down the 2h'ers and concentrate on your 1h weapon skills as there alot more good 1h weapons coming out, and your damage per second will be much better with a 1h weapon. And good 1hs weapons are not that hard to get or that expensive, Sword of Mourning is selling for 10k on Terris Thule.

You are incorrect when you say the damage will be better with a 1 hander. A 32/36 exquisite 2 hander from WW will outdamage this.
2 handers have much higher minimum bonuses than 1 handers. The benefits to 1 handers come from the added stats/ac from a shield and the bash ability.
This will narrow the gap substantially, because of it's great ratio, but it still will not outdamage a similar level 2 hander.

Heh, I would much rather use Massive Dragonclaw Shard + Sarnak Battle Shield than one of the 32/36 weapons.

1h weaps are almost always faster than comperable 2h weaps. With the primary hand damage bonus, the faster the weapon, the more often this extra damage lands. This is why lammys outdamage centi LS, even though the cLS has a better dam/dly ratio. You also benefit from the ability to bash with a shield, let alone the stats, which you mentioned yourself. Many 1h weaps have ratios similar to equivilant 2h weapons, and benefit from the increased speed. I would use a noct blade, for instance, over an oggok cleaver. The oggok cleaver may have a better ratio but is more than twice as slow, meaning it will have much less effect from the damage bonus, let alone the shield can be very usefull.
While it is true that the primary hand dmg bonus will make the lammy better than Centi Longsword, that only comes into play when the character is lvl 43 & higher. Also, that ONLY APPLIES WHEN WIELDING IT IN THE PRIMARY HAND (Centi LS is much better for the offhand)

Isn't it also true that with more strikes per time (that is less damage per strike compared to a 2HS, but more strikes per fight), that there are more chances to double attack ? (Which would weigh in favor of a 1HS as well.

I use a Sword of morning and str of grodan or etched velium warlance. If you want to interrupt spells use the 1hs and a good shield. Against anything that casts that's the way to go. For straight damage, as a self hasted pally, the SoM can't get near either of those. I carry atleast a 1hs and a 2hs. Against nonstunable upper lvls the 1hs will only get you killed.
Got one of these. Very nice. Definitely no going back to 2hs for me. Not for a while atleast.

I must say that when I was chatting with a Pally on Drinal and I saw the blade I thought it must be a 2hs. But I looked at it and it is 1hs. A very nice wep.

This is a real nice weapon. I am Masjaun lvl 53 Erudite Paladin. I must say that after putting my JadeInlaid Axe (32/40 plus some stats) in the bank for this, I was very very pleased. I was taking hits on many plane and epic monster type raids. I could actually taunt and solo some cool mid lvl 45 stuff with this weapon. I am on Lanys Tyvl if any still think that its a fake. It looks kinda nice equiped also (goes along with my shield of the stalwart sea ac35 +20str +20sta effect ultravision)

And not to nit-pick, but all the clerics i've been with have asked for the highest tank to taunt, and him only...think about it, keep up healing 2 to 4 different party members, or just heal one? hum...get a bit more experience under your belt before you say stuff like "the pal.sk,war can share damage and makes it easier for cleric to heal"

I don't get it, everyone is complaining that Pallys and SK's don't get any good 1H slashing blades. Do me a favor, plz look over the list. The top 8 1H weapons, based on ratio, are ALL useable by Pallys. The 4-8 top blades are Pally only, and the top 3 are all pally and SK only. Warriors actually can't use ANY of the top 10 1H blades (top ten based on dly)

Though I have not seen the weapon first hand, I can say that it is not a fake. Kheldar is an honorable soul and the Pantheon is beyond reproach.

first off its not a fake and how i know i was there in kithicor the knight i was posting guild events for the web with my necro helping the battle for the pantheons ragebringer quest for 3 of the rogues finishing the epic quests and second the pantheon is one of the most renoun guilds besides legions of darkness and lords of eldeo as one well 2 of the best guilds on our server that aint jerks unlike a few of the cut off lvls of dead of winter ( a few guild mates = major assholoes) but other then that the item aboe is NOT A FAKE it is real and i know cuz i took pics of every single equipment list during the 3-4 hr guild raid
