13 kills. No pearl. I think it is more along the rare side than common as is listed.

Eye of Veeshan on the last island. Two kills, dropped the shammy rod item the first time, and this the second time.

There are two items called "Shimmering Pearl." Are you sure this version is the one it dropped?
I used the first Shimmering Pearl I looted from Eye of Veeshan to get the Windstriker bow, which was the quest reward for the Ranger Test of Ranged Attack. To be expicit, I didn't get that pearl from Natasha Whitewater in Timorous Deep where the other Shimmering Pearl is obtained. I just got another Shimmering Pearl from Eye of Veeshan, and cast Identify and the results returned were: "Item Lore: Shimmering Pearl.". Beyond what I just wrote, I don't know how to further ascertain which version of the pearl I got from Eye of Veeshan. If there is an in game way of getting EQ item numbers please tell me. (wheels of thought are turning in my mind) O O O ! Let me guess: Item Collector program, right? Is it safe? Does it violate the EULA from SOE? Please enlighten me.

If you're concerned about the EULA (which I don't believe our Item Collector violates), you can take note of whether the resulting item is MAGIC/LORE/NO TRADE or just LORE/NO TRADE, or whether it's WT: 1.0 or WT: 0.1, or whether it's Size: MEDIUM or Size: TINY.
The Shimmering Pearl from Eye of Veeshan had weight of 1.0 and Size was MEDIUM.
