Actually....

These have amongst the best AC that a cleric can get without killing WW dragons.

So without going into ToV or WW, a cleric in the late 40s, low 50s can still be "uber."

is about the same stat wise, but these have better ac. And as one of the previous posters pointed out, AC is everything at higher levels.

Not a high level cleric (me, that is), but it seems to me that at this point (since you can be wearing 2 different bracers), that this wouldn't be so bad on one wrist. No need to waste mana summoning food. Good (notice I did't say great) AC...added hps too...ok ok ok..less than 1/2 a hit against most of the MOBs in this area, but so what...as they say, every little bit, right?

Heh, I'm not gonna say the bracer sucks but I will address your points.

1. At level 46+ which you must be to hunt this area (I suggest 51+) buying food is not that cost intensive.
(but there is still "conveinance")

2. 35hp isn't 1/2 a hit...the mobs this drops off quad attacks for 170+. IE it's not on thought of for you to take some 500+ dmg in 2 secs. This is 35hp. ;-)
(but like you said every little bit counts.)

So both effects are very minor....but still it's a good item and I'd consider wearing it.

Bascially I'm wearing AC9 Wis5 bracers now (as are many clerics). And 2 ac6 65hp rings (well I'll wear those soon as I take the time to buy them hehe).

If I swap out a 6ac/65hp ring for a 7wis ring change out my 2 bracers....
I get a net effect of:
+6AC raw (10ac), +1wis, +5hp, +10dex, +4vsPois
Effect: Summon Food

Granted it's not a major upgrade....but it is an upgrade.

Thanks for the intelligent post Citra...very nicely written as I understood everything you said :).
AND, the anony below your post has a huge point that we didn't think of. Slip it on, summon food for party (whatever party you're thinking of having, whether Dragon or just trying to get your fav wood elf drunk...heh) and then take it off again. I don't know why I never think about the on/off situation, except that I just don't have the carrying capacity to be holding a piece of armor that I'm not going to wear. But that's just me.

Question? Who says you gotta wear it all the time just put it on when you want some food. Keep the better gear on.
RE: Don't knock it
# Mar 04 2001 at 11:34 PM Rating: Default
Because most armor that has a Triggered effect needs to be equipped in order to trigger it. So basically, just throw it on, summon all the food you need, then throw the better gear on.
Bracers are not so bad

At higher leveles most clerics allready have 200+ wisdom any way and most look tword higher AC. summoning food is a pain any way :o)

RE: Nice proc on this one Verant (NT)
# Feb 14 2001 at 2:15 AM Rating: Default
Oh so these suck cause the have an almost worthless effect and low wis? At the lvl you are gonna be pickin these up AC is god, and you will most likely have enough equip to take you to well over 200wis, so 15ac bracers are pretty damn good.

Mages have been getting summon bandages as procs for their armor pieces, nothing new here. =p

Don't expect me to be wearing these... not unless I've got some pretty uber stuff for Wisdom in other locations.

Heck, it doesn't even make up for it with +Str so I can actually move if I loot anything!
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 13 2001 at 10:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) prolly shoulda put a rick-click Cheal or rez huh? bracers that have effects are nice, as they are the crappiest piece of armor one wears
