Not even good twink gear
# Sep 12 2006 at 11:29 AM Rating: Decent
The prices sought for this item, 10K+ pp on my server CT, are rediculous. Its not even good twink gear anymore. I might however equip a lvl 3-4 Warrior with it and sent him back into Glooming Deep for a bit of fun, but for all its worth I'd dump it at about the time I was ready to enter PC.

Actually the real reason why this is so expensive is because it is twink gear. Velious armor/weapons don't have level restrictions or recommendations and are generally droppable which make them excellent on sub-40 twinks. Take, for example, Swiftblade of Zek, Crown of Narandi, Barb leggings, multiple haste items, etc. You can get items with 50-100 HP and high AC with stats/resists. A level 40-50 mob doesn't stand a chance against a level 30 with this gear on.

If you are PLing and/or twinking your lowlevel toon this is the stuff you want.

A level 50 mob, would completely OWN a level 30 toon with all the gear you listed on. Twinking makes a HUGE difference, but not that huge. On the other hand, a level 30 mob would probably die pretty quick, and would need at least half a group to kill untwinked.
Ok BP
# Sep 17 2003 at 1:52 AM Rating: Decent
Well the reason this cost so much is that it comes off a LVL 70 Dragon. The Dragon has differnet type of BP on it thouse. This one being more common that most of the others that drop. They best one that does drops Add 7 to each.
OK
# Jul 11 2003 at 6:20 AM Rating: Decent
I was loaned one for my lvl 39 warrior. I don't see why it should clost 20K though. I can get way better for a lot less. You should keep this until you get upper 40's by then you'll be able to get a lot more
Don't know what to name this lol

This isn't a bad piece of equipment, and it certainly isn't awesome, or great, or fabulous. The AC on it is nice, the HP/Mana on it is also a plus, and the resists are always helpful. But IMHO, i would take a PSC over this. It'd be missing about 3AC, about 25HP and whatever mana. But it's stats and, sort of, wavering resists topple this breastplate to the side. The one thing, however, that makes me really choose the PSC over this would be the price. People sell this, when it is sold, at around 20k(from what i have seen). PSC is at maximum nowadays at 14k.
This is a really pointless post, and i am sorry. I just wanted to enlighten some of you, if i even did :) about a comparable piece of equipment that is equal in stats(better IMO) and less expensive. So if you're going for more bang for your buck, PSC is the way to go. Sorry again for this very pointless post. My 2cp. Thx everyone.

Shut the fvck up right now... This thing hardly sucks.. what are u wearing a treeweave /gasp omg what a mighty bp that is.. Look where this drops, who it drops off LOL u can't even walk up to these and try fighting one with yer non-uber guild. jOO nOObs are stupid...with 3sta i get roughly 4hp at lvl 40 so 12 +50hp is 62hp that is not bad at all. Agi i get about an extra 1-3ac which give me more ac...plus the resists hardly suck +3 to everything. Get real dude...jOO need to check yer **** man. cause u will NEVA touch this,

Not that great? I think it would be a very big improvement to a non twink lvl 29 ranger.

Dragons.... Be specific
# Nov 20 2001 at 8:06 AM Rating: Decent
I dont see many 'dragons' roaming around, but i do see certain Drakes, some Crag Wyrms and actual uber hard Named dragons wandering around. When you say 'dragons' Im guessing that it drops of pretty much everything in WW that looks like a dragon, from Drakes-Named Dragons. Be a little more specific please on what the name of the mob was that dropped this. Never killed anything named, Dragon, before ;p
RE: Dragons.... Be specific
# Mar 06 2002 at 9:16 PM Rating: Decent
hehe, there are MANY dragons in WW. several roamers, some nest keepers, and some guard ToV. there are probably about 20 dragons in WW. the worked dragon armor drops from the lower lvl dragons (lvl 51 - 53) while better type of dragon armor drops off higher lvl dragons.
i like it

Dragon Armors
# Feb 15 2001 at 3:46 PM Rating: Decent
The pattern I've noticed.
The Dragon(skin, horn, leg, wing, etc.) armors come in 5 types. Matchless, Peerless, Heavy, Reinforced, and Worked, From best to worst.
For the most part the pattern is +or - 1 to the AC and stats for each level. It is wearable by chain and better classes and drops off dragons in Western Wastes.
The slots that I've seen armor for are Face, Wrist, Arm, Back, Feet Leg, Waist, Hand, Shoulders, and Chest.
That would make this the worst of the breastplates and if the pattern follows then the best is at least AC34 +7to stats and resists
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 14 2001 at 3:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Western Wastes is a rather low level zone, exep for few giants and orcs.
RE: What drop this?
# Feb 14 2001 at 9:10 PM Rating: Decent
Not Eastern Wastes, this is found in Western Wastes which is full of dragons, drakes and such.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 12 2001 at 7:16 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) He said Western Wastes dummy!

Just a comment.. if you look at the posting time of the original poster, you'll notice it is actually later than the posting time of the guy who responded.

In other words, the original poster went back and edited his post, most likely changing his comment from EW to WW.

Don't call people names. It's not nice. :)

If this is like the other Dragon armor pieces dropping in the Western Wastes there are at least 3 versions better than this so I definately need to tack on a couple more lvls and get my butt over there.
Graphic?

# Feb 14 2001 at 12:41 PM Rating: Default
It doesn't look like any pre-velious armor texture, it's a new one. It looks different on every race.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 14 2001 at 2:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It uses the new velious plate armor model.
wrong
# Feb 14 2001 at 3:26 PM Rating: Default
there is more then that for every race, dragonhide does not look like rygorr and sentry armors and it is chain. Dragonhide stuff looks like blue green chainmail. Pretty cool stuff. other examples is the ice burrower tunic which does not look the same as ulthork and tizmak. The stone something mail that does not look the same as sentry and rygorr, the emerald dragon scale tunic which does not look the same as guardian plate, the phase spider carapace which does not look the same as anything else i seen(that one is sweet!).

I agree with the "wrong" poster...If I remember my research on the new armor models, there was something like 2 new models for each leather/chain/plate for each race, each class, and each gender.
Hmm...something sounds wrong about that, but it's similar to that
