In a druids point of view, this bracer is nice. Althought I would never wear it unless I was doing a raid. Dont take me wrong, its nice but I would much rather prefer more resists then 10 ac when im fighting a dragon and not even taking the hits. These bracelets have there different purposes for different classes ;) but then again, this one is free
Sure u would wear it to a raid i won't wear this anywhere...... not that i don't like the sv but being a druid can't wear the thing.

what I wonder , is if all the ppl that say this item sucks even play a char over 50 in eq atall or are a bunch of noobs.
This item is a GREAT resist item , even for ppl 55+. sure bd has a bit broader base of resists and 10 mana but your loosin the 10 ac and a cool look, especially accented with ToV cleric armor :)
besides the time involved is really minimal, all things considered.

resist gear generally implies you're going against a dragon, and you hopefully won't be drawing agro at all... for a cleric, the 10 AC shouldn't make a difference.. i'd definitely get a BD velium bracer for the 700pp or so, even if i'm given this. and if you're a tanking class, the cultural bracers _own_ hands down. they generally have 25 AC, and 5 to each save.
Can't speak for other plate classes, but for clerics this would be a nice "general" bracer to wear because you can wear two of them, has nice AC, and fair standard resist.
For specialty occassions were one would encounter poison/disease mobs, then you can switch to BD bracers.

Sure it does. Velium Blue Diamond Bracelet is +30 mana, + 9 DR/PR/MR/FR, +11 CR.
AC is nice but AC doesn't help with AoE effects.

This is an awesome piece of resist gear. Resist gear is king for the higher level encounters.
This to me doesnt really seem worth it. (maybe if you were a shadowknight?) sure kelorek'dar is one of the easiest dragons in the game (id call it a sea monster not a dragon) but really, taking the scale, the necklace and the other item and in return getting this? semi nice ac, but high weight, and overall horrid stats. Unless you need something like this for a raid, I wouldn't waste my time. )-=

I wouldn't pay what the site lists as an average price for this bracer, but if you kill Kelorik and get a scale, why not do the quest?

Hunting Sirens in SG is experience and there are other nice drops.
A Fine Plate bracer is what.. maybe 100pp tops if you buy it from a player who already has the smithing up.
100pp for this bracer is really very nice. It's a quest of oportunity though, it's not like you would camp Kelorik for the scale. =)

Well, Blue diamond has no AC, and large races can not wear the ice forged shackles.

This thing rocks. You guys just don't realize how much resists matter in the highend game where you don't tank as much as you die from AEs. Personally I would wear this over pally's Shining bracer.
