I just traded my SCHW even for this shield, I think the price has come down alot on this or someone really wanted a haste item. 40 sv fire is sweet, but a SBS is a better shield overall for general use as its +10 sv cold and magic and has 40 hps to boot. Anyway with this Im close to 280 resist fire with my potions of cold ( +25 sv fire and +25 AGI ). If you need save fire gear Id reccomend a stone of morid ( 30svf/30svc ), firekeepers tunic ( 20 svf ) , Lodizal shield on back slot ( 10 svm, 20svc, 20svf ), enshrouded veil ( 10 svf ), opal stein ( 10 all saves ), and BD earrings and bracers ( 4/6/6/11/11 and 9/9/11/9/9 on each saves ) as some gear that is alot cheaper and has good saves.

If you look VERY closely at the picture, you'll notice a small hole just below his left ear - that's where the key to wind him up goes. <a clockwork highelf priest XXVIC> Gotta love da Gnomies!
I quite agree that this would make a nice addition to anyones raid/resist gear. Need me one, need me a book offa Naggy's stupid butt and this would make life so much nicer when I go to kill his wurmy *****

I would be happy if my clerics all had 200 wis, saves, and could be put outta harms way to keep me and my group alive. I get tired of seeing you guys whine and moan about this one has this this one has that, grow up. If your partners have the best they can have then there is a better chance you'll live and eventually get it for yourself. Why be so selfish?

well - certainly wouldnt agree with ya. On Naggy raids or raids on mobs with same lewt table, most casters get screwed outa things " because it is a melee " item this and that. Actually, I am getting pretty tired of people making those assumptions. Quit day dreaming, it doesnt bring you close to the item you desire =) and quite frankly, I do believe that since they participated on the raid, they should be able to roll on ANY item their class was considered for, period.
If you look at the Cleric he has his Epic and is in Full Planes gear, that means his wis is most likely over 200 by enough that he can afford to use this shield to boost his saves. Also they may have just used the Cleric to take the pic because it looks good with his gear.
Any rogue that would *ever* use a shield is a complete moron. Same with warriors. Only people who should even concern themselves with this shield is druids, pallys, SKs, clerics, and shamen.
As a small race, my warrior swiches to a shield to bash and interupt spell-casing NPCs, then switches back to her off-hand weapon. Comes in handy.
On raids, she'll sacrafice AC gear for resist gear, and that often means wielding a shield. While that lowers her damage output, the net result is less of a need for heals, so the healers on the raid can concentrate on the main assist.
Ever pull a mob who likes to snare/root? While I much prefer pullin' with my SK, more often then not my Warrior spends time pulling in groups. After tagging the caster-mob with an arrow, switching to a shield to help mitigate spell damage results in making it back to the party in one piece.
By the time someone is able to get this shield, they'll know whether or not it would benefit their toon. While everyone has a right to his or her own opinion, calling someone a moron for doing things differently than you would isn't called for.
Ultimately, it's a game. Use a shield, don't use a shield, wear cloth armor in the arena in Kael--whatever it takes to keep this game fun for you.
Cloth armor in Kael? My warrior wears a cloth robe as MA in ToV, it's dyed to almost black, just because he looks cool doing it. Not like those mobs are worth worrying about anymore. It's always fun to stand there and get a ss in a 2 ac cloth robe tanking one of the nameds in ToV. Whatever makes it fun!!!!
