Just wanted to confirm that you can in fact ID items for other players. Just make sure they are holding the item on curser, the clicky this badboy and they get the Lore, found this out while helping guild farm shards =)
It's not a buff, it casts the spell Identify. That let's you see "lore" information on whatever item you might be holding on your mouse cursor.
It's useful for quests like the key to Veeshan's Peak where you have to collect nine different items that have the same name, yet have different "lore" information and are to be turned in to different NPCs.
Of course, I'm too cheap to buy one of these, I just kept track of which pieces went to what, but that's beside the point =)
Another post said that a level 21 could NOT use... so that narrows the range for when it first becomes usable to 22-30.
(sigh) I was hoping to use this mask to work out some things on Cabilis newbie quests... but it looks like I'll have to investigate one of the following options:
Just verified that the Holgresh Grand Vizier Beads DO work. My bazaar bot is a level 1 Warrior and he used it just fine. May be some confusion, tho, since the person targetted must be HOLDING the item, and the message goes to the person targetted, not the person using the beads. Also, you must put it in an inventory SLOT, you can't use from within a bag.
I would assume you can use it from a neck slot, but didn't check that since it is INT caster equippable only.
Since the arrival of the Bazaar feature for players and the increased popularity of Velks for XP hunting the price for these has been falling lately. The price I can get for these today on the Cazic-Thule server is about half what it was a few months ago.
For the ivy etched armor, you have to collect runes that all look the same. If you can get one of these masks with ID effect for 50pp in Bazaar and you have a ranger that is going to do the Ivy Etched quests, you might want to buy and stash in the bank. Saves having to find someone to ID the runes for you.
I just received the silvery mask as a gift from someone. It says I'm not the right level to activate it --- what level can a Druid use it? Also, I was sitting up in Kelethin tree village, looking at the 2 gifts I just received, and all of a sudden I've been knocked unconscious (by whom, merchant or guard I don't know; didn't see anyone). Would right-clicking on this mask in the face position be interepreted as an attack by a merchant or guard? Would appreciate an answer sent to my email: eqstargrace@yahoo.com -- thanks for any help :) -- Stargrace, Level 11 Druid (Wood Elf)
Likely, what happened is you took off this mask, and you had 25 or fewer HP remaining before you did, so it subtracted 25 hp from you're current total.
Nonsense. The right-clickable effect on it is very useful for anybody who does a lot of of quests. It's not something you'd wear all the time, but it certainly has its uses and it's worth much more than a merchant will give you for it. Sell it in the Bazaar if you don't want it.
There must be a million of these in-game. It's the common reward for turning in 4 kobold paws for Kael faction. 50p in the market zone if you're lucky. Don't pay more - there are just too many out there since Velks became such a popular xp zone.
Only reason they are so cheap is because they are such a common drop..., and at the level required to buy it, you might as well sell it cheap and get back to what you're doing, rather than trying to make a couple more platinum...

The Identify is clickable but you must be wearing the mask. It tells you some information about whatever you are holding in you hand from your inventory. Helpful in identifying ivy runes for example. They all look the same but different ones are for different quest items. Kinda limmited uses, but I'll hold on to mine just the same.

Why is this so cheap, with a weight of .2 and more AC then wu's fighting mask +25 hp against the +1 agi on the wu's this rocks compared to the wu's, which often sells for around 50-90. For monks alone I think it makes this worth more then the 50-75 people have been selling it for.
Then again I am new to the monk so there may be something else cheap for face slot better I don't know of?
What am i doing wrong, i have the mask on, i have the rune on the cursor, and I right mouse click on mask, it always returns "You must target something to identify". Any help would be appreciated.
As stated in a couple posts- many quest items are identical- runes of ivy are all different sides, but all state only-"rune of ivy".
I feel stupid, but have tried everything, and been back to this page 3 times to see if there was anything I missed.
You need to target yourself (or whoever you want to cast identify on).
The way Identify works, is you (or someone else near you) holds an item on their cursor, you target yourself (or the person holding the item to be identified), then cast the spell (in this case right clicking on the mask). You (or the person holding the item) is then told what they are holding.
This all/all mask is good cuz of it's ac/hp. i would think about using it for a non-melee class such as caster or such that hasn't much to choose from on face. Chances are everyone is going to use it for it's identifying power.
Identify isn't very usefull, but if you are talking about 2 items that look exactly the same and look the same, then identify is needed. the spell just gives you one or 2 words so you can tell the difference.
what do you people sell these for on nameless for?
My guild mate gave me one of these and I wear it but, when I went to see what it was worth to a merchant they all said I'll give you absolutely nothing for the Silvery Mask? Also what lvl does it proc at?
