I am looking at this bow in bazaar right now, and it is useable by WAR, PAL, RNG, SHD, ROG. It is NOT ranger only.

Too bad they nerfed this. It was the combined 100 resists that sealed the deal for me. I really wish though that the stealth nerf turned this item into the Druzzil's Composite Treant Laminated Compound Bow though; instead, this forces me to have to sell the stealth nerf item to help finance a purchase of the Druzzil version, and since the nerf version is now attuneable, there's no way I'll be recouping the original purchase price.

Such is the risk of buying things too soon after any expansion. You'd think that after 7 years of this I'd know better. Enjoy the new bows though, they really are nice for those of us that can't raid.
Plainswalker's Bow removed? New Bow Added?

It appears that the Plainswalker's bow has been removed. I had it before the recent patch and now it has been replaced with the Composite Treant Laminated Compound Bow. I did find a new bow that isn't listed in the search engine on this site. It is called "Druzzil's Composite Treant Laminated Compound Bow". Stats are: Dam 47 Del 37 AC: 25 Archery Mod: 5% Str: 18 Dex: 12 Sta: 18 Wis: 10 Int: 10 Agi: 12 HP: 165 Mana: 165 End: 165 SvFire: 13 SvDis: 10 SvCold: 13 SvMag: 20 SvPoison: 10 ATTACK: 20 Regen: 2 Mana Regen: 2 Useable by WAR, PAL, RNG, SHD, ROG, ALL Races and has aug slots type 7 and type 4, both! I found this bow with my trader in the bazaar. I typed /buyer and then searched Treant Laminated and found this bow linked there. I hadn't heard of it until then. Just FYI!!! Please feel free add any comments.
3-15-06 patch nerfage
# Mar 15 2006 at 6:18 PM Rating: Decent
I had this bow prior to the first 3-15-06 patch, and when I logged back into the game it had been changed to an attuneable Composite Laminated Treant Bow. Downgraded in hp, mana, and various other stats including the loss of one point in mana regen, I am not a happy camper. Petitioned about it, and within 20 minutes the servers were set to come down again. Time to go take some aspirin.

Sucks losing a few of the stats and the hp/mana. On a brighter side the bow did recieve a type 7 and a type 4 aug slot. With the right augs you can make this bow look a lot better then it did before without the aug slots

I think I'm going to wait until these changes shake out a bit before I update this item. Please keep us posted.

I've updated the entries for the two items in the DB, but don't know the new recipes. Removed the old ones.

I'm guessing there is no aug slot because you could then just slap on a life tap aug and have a better version of the Composite bow. /ponder

Comparing the two this bow has WIS (who cares if it has INT, ignore it and move on), 20 more HP, 20 more Mana, 20 more END, the saves are higher (+25!!), and 1 more FT. The tradeoff is that you miss out on the Lifedraw proc and 5 DEX (but it you are at a level to use this bow and 5 DEX is a concern you have bigger issues).

So the decision point will be (1) do I want a significant increase in these stats? or (2) do I want the benefit of supplemental damage with the proc and an aug?

It will be up to the ranger who wants to use it to determine what's of more use to them.

Personally, since they have the same delay/dmg I'm going to grab the compound and slap another dmg proc aug on it since my ranger is focused on being dps. Heck, I might even do the same for my warrior.

Edited: Changing this post since the original post I made was about the pre-nerf version.

This was the Plainswalker bow, but with a patch, was changed into the current bow you see here. Was a serious nerf, as the Plainswalker had much better stats than this. I feel very sorry for anyone who got clubbed with the nerf. The Plainswalker, being much better, would have sold for much more than anyone would give for this. But SOE doesn't seem to mind ******** people over, especially rangers.

Isnt this bow Ranger only?
Also, was the aug slot left out on purpose??

yes, it is ranger only. and i think it was left out because it would make it overpowered? i dunno.. alot of the evolving items dont have aug slots in the final forms either

Interestingly enough, the non ranger only version has a proc and an aug slot. I can understand your argument on one or the other, but not on both (no proc and no aug slot).

I had my featherwood set up with 2 procs, one from the bow and one from the aug. Every other hit one or the other would go off makeing it one ubba bow. I much preferred the feather over the stoney for that reason alone!
