these are great

for those that are saying these gloves are bad or the stats arent that great on them think about it.

gloves that give you + 10 int AND + 3 all saves AND + mana

lets see you find another pair of gloves that do all that and remember gloves are a VERY hard slot to fill. then consider the gloves are part of a set and that should be taken into consideration as well.

and for those that said it was difficult to max out int that was a joke right ?? i have a 58 human (yes human those the ones that start with the lowest int) and I have my int at well OVER 200 just by keeping myself buffed with enlightenment (and previously brilliance) heck I was even able to put on BD earrings + diamond rings to keep 3 of my resists over 100 and still keep my int maxed. dont underestimate the power of the chanter buffs either with the proper buff line up I keep my cha softcapped at around 150 because overwhelming splendor adds + 50 cha to put me at 200.

These gloves (which I just got to replace silverchitin handwraps) will now allow me to drop yet another piece or two to trade out for hp or mana or resists as needed.

You know nobody really cares if you think these suck or whatever. Not everyone can be an uber twink and have 200 int and cha and 700 ac at level one. Some of us still do work for what we have. For the people saying other things here about crappy stats Aren't these supposed to be part of a set of armor?Or do you all expect all the bonuses from the whole set on one piece? And no I dont have any problems with people twinking(I do it too),I just get sick of the uber twinks saying how a good item sucks because their level one is wearing level 60 armor. Not everyone has access to level 60 characters with uber guild that have nothing better to do than camp camp camp.
Usefullness of Int
# May 25 2001 at 11:34 AM Rating: Default
I agree with others that the int isn't so great at higher levels. I have a 60 enchanter and I always get cha over int, but if you use a Kobold's jesters crown you have to have a lot ++++int equip to keep max cha and int, so these gloves are quite nice

Since everyone else has an opinion, I just wanted to say once that while int over 200 may not be that useful, exchanging a 5 int item for a 10 int item is still a good deal. I am 55 and I have 199 int with brilliance, and every time I get more int items I get to trade out smaller int items like shoulder, waist, pants, range slot stuff and jewelry for Hp/mana gear and resist gear. When I get my epic (friggin hate) the extra 10 int will mean I can replace my range, pants, shoulders, and end up with 200 again only I'll have more hp and mana. I know different chanters have different priorities, some prefer ac or cha, nothing wrong with that, I just prefer HP gear. After you get Theft of thought and clarity 2 mana gear is even less important but it's usually an extra stat so I can't knock it.

Heres my 2cp as an Enchantress:
At the higher levels(starting around the mid 40's) INT becomes not a big deal at all. I found that with my Incadescents, Stein, and Crafted Jewelry I could reach 200 or very near it. Every point of INT over 200 adds ONE point of mana, so thers very little or no reason to have an INT greater than 200. As soon as I got Brilliance (heckova spell btw) I started to really concentrate on Cha, Mana, and SV boosting equip. Honestly a pt or two or 10 or 20 of AC doesnt make much diff, neither do 5 or 100hp. This Kael stuff is nice, some nicer than others (the slippers for instance), and with a mixture of Kael and Planes gear I will be a VERY happy Mezzer indeed.
Thats it. Hope I didnt burst anyones bubble.

int over 200 now adds level/10 mana, before 200 adds level/5 mana.

so at 50, 1 int = 5 mana post 200, at 60, 1 int = 6 mana.

WEST tov actually. East tov(aka halls of testing) drops unadorned silk for skyshrine quests. I wouldnt mind the skyshrine armor but heck, in one tov raid i picked up ancient silk gloves pantaloons and slippers. So im a happy chanter.

Why?
# Feb 06 2001 at 12:28 PM Rating: Default
At level 45 why do they have a +35 to mana isn't that just a tease? The +9int helps a lot more.
RE: Why?
# Feb 10 2001 at 1:26 PM Rating: Decent
go to ever lore .com and ues the mana calc. the +35 can equal a lower spell and the +9 int can = up to like 70+ mana sooo its like + 100 mana in a way
RE: Why?
# Feb 20 2001 at 7:41 PM Rating: Default
Because once your INT is at 200 it stops giving you alot more mana per int point. post 200, each point of int equals 1 point of mana. So, once you hit the 200 int mark its time to start adding +mana stats to yourself.

# Feb 21 2001 at 11:40 AM Rating: Default
yes that is true but u have to remember, u r tradeing out items not stacking them all together. so if u have gloves that r only int+ 6 and put these on u accually only get 3 additional int point. its alot harder to get over 200 then u think.

Erm, I used to think so too when I had an INT in the 170's. My 42 Mage now with an Oracle Robe is at 196, and that's only because I haven't bought Gator Sleeves yet to get him to 200. I know plenty of only mildly twinked characters at well over 200 lower level then me. I've still got quite a bit of Damask on me, but I've spent maybe 3K or so for my Int. And since me and my Nec can make 1K in a good night, that's pretty reasonable. The only nice item I have is a Runed Cowl, but my Nec is also at 196 without one. I'm already looking ahead to starting to swap out INT gear for Mana Gear. That three extra int means getting another +Mana Ring and dropping a +INT ring. Or it means swapping out an Earring for a +Mana one or even a +resist/Dex/AGI one.

Maybe if you're a Human who didn't max your INT or some other less intelligent race it would be tough, but for DE's just spending a little money went much further then I would have thought. Tough to get over 200? If you have no money maybe, but sometimes you gotta slow down levelling and go camping for a bit to get there. Just buying player Jewellery, BS earrings and such goes a long way.

erm, int is the easiest stat to keep up (well I guess cha is a bit easier, but I dont count that as a real stat ^_~)

try keeping +500 hp and 700 ac buffed and then you see why int is so easy ^_~

anyway about the item nice ac, I dont see any real benifit from 10 int, 35 mana is nice, but honestly, I about never go oom (that would take like a 8 pull) so thats not a real consideration. lack of hps deters me from this item as well as a great deal of the other kael aromrs, I guess I wont get kael for this item )

Just curious; where did the armor piece drop for it? The gems are easy enough to come by, just time consuming, but I haven't been able to figure out where the get the armor pieces.

I push my crack, trying to make a living, and drool at the thought of getting something this cool.
I have some lame gloves that cost me 100p on right now, with like 25 mana, or somethign lame like that. If only I could get.. this.. nooooo
