Recipe?

Can someone possibly post the precise components and quantities needed to tailor one of these items? (Directions for a mask would be great)

Also, am I correct in assuming this can be made in the typical large sewing kit, or does this require a special container? (such as the imbued vale stuffs for Karana worshippers)

Thanks in advance. :)

... and it took me three tries to do so at a skill of 124 Tailoring with 175 Wisdom. Seeing as how a stud costs 52pp each, I'm trying to figure out for how much I should sell something like this! Still not sure of the real success rate, will have to do more I guess. The difficult to get components are the stud (which requires 6 pieces of velium ore as well as the 52pp in tempers), a tigeraptor skin (pretty common loot in a really annoying zone), and drake egg oil (brewed from a foraged drake egg from Skyshrine). Materials + failed attempts + skill + time + profit = ??? Guess I'll look for a comparable mask and charge that much.

Wisdom has absoutely nothing to do with sucess in making tailoring/smithing/pottery/etc. The only thing that matters worth a lick is your skill level. (Of course, INT always determines how fast you learn a skill)

Imatelle is correct in stating that Wisdom does not affect successes in trade. I've heard that Strength determines that, but have no conclusive data to support it. Instead Wisdom affects skill point gains.

I had a number of wisdom pieces from my old druid that I used on my ranger when fletching. I was gaining skill at a much faster rate than my friend who was playing a rogue.

I disagree. My newb ranger has pathetic wisdom, is trivial with common arrows, but fails about 50% of the time. My druid, however, went from no skill to maxing newb arrows with only a dozen or so failures.

For working on Fletching, get your dex up as high as possible. My dex is 147 and I'm almost grandmaster. It's cost me a ton though cause my wis sucks.

Basically, with fletching, dex help success, and wis helps to learn the skill.

As far as tailoring goes, I've heard tell on eqtraders.com that dex helps tailoring as well, but I can't verify that.

These types of discussions have been argued for years. Visit EQTraders.com for the latest information. There are future changes being planned for tradeskills, such as adding DEX as one of the primary skill increase attributes.

However, my understanding is that currently whichever is higher of either INT or WIS will be the primary attribute that determines your rate of skill increase. Certain tradeskills have secondary skill increase criteria: STR for blacksmithing and DEX for fletching are examples.

The only criteria that determines the success rate on combines (besides chance of the RNG) will be your current skill level plus any skill level modifying contraptions. So even with a low skill, there is a small chance to have a successful combine, just like with a high skill, it is possible to fail on an item with a low trivial value.

Many tradeskillers buy a set of WIS or INT gear that is worn only while trying to increase skill in a trade. I myself have a set over a dozen items in the bank for such occasions raise my base WIS from 85 up to 160. That and the CHA gear I have for buying/selling at the best prices goes back into the bank after my skill raising session is done.

Actually... you would be happily surprised... Check out the eqtraders site and look at the velious tailoring recipes. A whole new slough of goodies... mostly class specific, from the reinforced black panther gear for us monks...(you are gonna pass out when you see the stats...) and the studded haze panther gear for rogues? might be wrong on the spelling.

but I am frickin excited.
thanks verant for making tailoring a skill worth having!

#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 30 2001 at 2:32 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) OMG... I hate it when you ******* idiots come on these boards and start crying that it didn't really come from tailoring. THERE ARE RECIPES ON THIS PAGE FOR MONTHS. OMG. *sigh* Get a life loser. Or even better, just stop posting on this board all together.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 30 2001 at 1:41 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) the recipes for all these tailored things have been up on the trade skill boards for months now genius. All the new tailoring recipes can also be found on a vendor in Thurgadin. Next time you should do a little research before opening your mouth and braying like a jackass.

Huh?

These are ranger-only. The monk items are black panther, and aren't fantastic, but they're not terrible either.

I believe thats what was stated before, and as far as stats remember these are tailored items so the stats look much better
