Just wondering do you have to equip to cast the summon bandages? If not this would be great for anybody that needs bandages.

Yes, you do have to equip the boots to use them. Sorry, hehe. That would have been too easy for Monks. :P

ok these boots suck!!! ok i got boots from luclin with 4 to every stat. now thats alot better then some week saves and NO INT! i mean come on. no int on something thats "soposed" to be one of the best things for Magicians out there.

I got these boots lastnight, and though the stats are not great it was nice to get something new. I am posting this because everyone is mentioning that the boots have a white graphic and I can see this buy the picture above as well. However When worn they look deep dark red on me, almost brown. Have they been changed? It can't be my 3d card as I am running Nvidia chip set on a Gforce 64meg card. Ooes anyone know?

OH should mention also that you need to have your velious armor turned on in the eqclient.ini, just set all the "LoadArmorXX=TRUE".

depends on the race I guess. on erudite they look bright blue with gold tops and trim. pretty nice actually. effect is useless tho heh.. thx 15 mana savings :P

Greetings everyone.
First off, I am a lvl 40 Tier'Dal Magician and no, I do not have these boots yet. All I have mainly been able to read here is people complaining about what the effect is. Why? Because it seems everyone just wants massive all powerful gear that makes playing the game easier and less enjoyable. If you have a complaint, go to the EQ forums and post it. I am not overly fond of the stats and effect of the boots, but I am not going to ***** about it!! Every class has some items that they wish were more powerful. I think that these boots are cool for 2 reasons.
1) They actually show up and look different than any of the other boots that I can get. They stand out and hey, I might need to summon some bandages at some point and not want to bother to memorize my summon bandages spell. Which that in itself is a boon for me, since it is one less thing I have to memorize and then forget when I first log on.
2) Look at the name? Arch Mage's Boots. That is awesome! Think of when you are sitting in some zone meditating or just standing there waiting for your puller to bring a mob to it's death and someone comes up and notices your white boots. Then they inspect you to see what they are and how impressed they would be by just the name of the boots! <lmao> I may be odd and different than every other mage, but I like looks a lot. <smiles> I think these boots are cool, and may try to do the quest when I get Scars of Velious.

Oh, a 3rd point. It is pretty good AC for boots for a mage and the weight is AWESOME! Look at Earthen Boots that we get and how much they weight. This is great!

Torn enchanted silk boots (and other pieces) drop deep inside Kael Drakkel. Level 50+ giants.
I saw boots and 2 sleeves on my last trip.

Cast time on these is 9 seconds :( Kinda crappy effect and stats, but I wear them simply for the fact that they are white and different than GEBs that everyone has :o. Its hard to see in my picture though.

Is it just me or does Verant seem to like adding Stamina to most Magician quest items? I thought the Temple of Ro boots had + Stamina too. Does Verant realize that Magicians are Intelegence based casters or do they just not care?

Apparently mage's secondary stat is stamina (as seen in character creation screen). Would guess its something unimplemented by verant that could make mages even better than they are.

this is a old post but mabey someone will read it some day. first and foremost mana is the most important stat for mages, depending on exactly what your doing mana regen or your mana pool may be more important < your in a group and need constant dps, your killing a raid mob and need too chain cast on it> second is your HP, or your ability to avoid damage. staminia effects your hp pool, agi effects your ability too avoid damage. dex wis str and charisma are completly useless for mages < you could argue charisma for call of the arch mage and mez, but at 66 i never use it except in bot> nabot is a pally anyway so why would you listen too him about how too play your mage. so next time that stamina aug drops roll for it.

Well the recycle time on summon bandages is ridiculously high so you could alternate this with the spell.
Really spiffy for those times you have to summon a couple of hundred band-aids in a jiff.

Or they could have just put a short duration buff on an item so we could dispell debuffs from our pets without whacking through BO first.

This does truely blow - give us anything just not more of our own low (really low) level spells.

Really, thats a joke. Summon bandages is a level -4- spell. Theres not much mana on these, or int. The saves are kinda nice, but not great.

For the difficulty in getting these, this has got to be a joke.

What's even better is the casting time on the summon bandage spell on the boots is ridiculously long.... :)

I know, give us stinking boots that do something useful, Why not make hard to acquire boots give us Levitate OR perhaps a personal Sow? Good Grief!

I am a lvl38 mage who has casted bandages all my life it is a lvl 1 spell for crist sakes and i can do it a hell of a lot quicker than 9 sec. What we need is something thats casts clarity or sow. all items that i have seen here that are class specific do the same thing for there respective players, re worthless. As to the saves you can get better in jewelcraft from velium

Um... First of all you didnt cast summon bandaids at lvl 1. Second of all you cant do even a stack yet so this is helpful to at least you (though tiny help but help). Third you dont loot it. (soapbox time) Please make sure you know what your posting about before you post.
