Message I got ?
# Jan 06 2008 at 8:48 PM Rating: Default
I finally decided to go and try and get my Ancient werewolf skull. Well after two weeks i finally finished all the missions to get it.

Well on Sunday January 6th 2008. Around 10:45 cst. I pulled a mob and got the strangest message. "Ancient Werewolf Skull grows heavier as you find yourself involuntarily snarling at your opponet. " So is this normal ? Has anyone else experienced this ? I just thought it odd that it never did that before that i noticed.

This is one of the many "intelligent" items in EQ that will randomly talk to you if equipped. This can be filtered if you get tired of seeing it but I think they are fun. All 3 stages of this evolving mask talk out loud.
# Dec 26 2007 at 10:18 AM Rating: Decent
The 3rd stage is The Skull of Den Lord Rakban.

There's a known bug with the Item Collector where the evolving stats occasionally disappear during a collection (only to reappear during a subsequent collection).

Given the story about the Den Lord, anybody try killing Shiliskin to evolve it? Haven't tried it myself but it's certainly worth a shot.
quick evolve?
# Feb 21 2006 at 12:14 AM Rating: Decent
There a quicker way to evolve this thing? Had it 2 weeks now, killed tons of mobs, its at 3%! Not sure if exp going to AA or normal exp matters..

I've noticed the very same thing.

My Cloak of the Spirit Tracker was taking *forever* and a day to evolve; after a month of xp'ing and getting over 200 AAs, it was only 50% into Level 1! At the time, I had myself set to 100% AAxp; also, this was prior to release of TSS expansion.

After dying a little more than I cared for, and losing quite a bit of my buffer into Lvl 70, I set it to 100% regular XP in order to max out my XP bar. That way, I'd never have to worry about losing a level mid-raid (had never happened to me, but I'd seen it happen to plenty of others), and I'd be ready to level up come the next expansion.

Immediately after I'd set myself to 100% regular XP, I spent 6 hours straight doing "Samples of Corruption" missions for my own toon/alts/bots and others in my Guild. Afterwards, I saw my XP bar had indeed maxxed out...and so had my Cloak of the (now) Spirit Hunter!

So it appears to me that it takes a % of the (regular) XP you're getting. So if you're set to 5% regular / 95% AA XP, then your Evolving items will take a set amount of XP from the 5% (regular) that you're earning. Granted, you'll still Evolve *somewhat* even at 100% AA XP, but you'll die of old age before it maxxes out.

It does stack
# Feb 16 2006 at 1:44 PM Rating: Decent
It does stack with everything I've tried it. The trick is you have to use the clicky last and it stacks. If you use it 1st then it won't stack.
Stacking with "forms"
# Nov 29 2005 at 12:09 PM Rating: Decent
I have been told that this doesn't stack with form of endurance, form of defense, etc. Can anyone confirm if it does or not? I know the clicks from the single items do, but I don't want to combine the parts if it doesn't stack.

It does stack with Form endurance and defense.
The "screech" effect has been removed and has now some resis Stack-Blocks.
So the form it wont stack with is: protection.

I use this mask's effect and the Form of endurance III effect of Ring of the Beast and it stacks.

It doesn't stack since the other clickies also got the "screech" effect.
How to piss off buffers
# Nov 19 2005 at 1:26 PM Rating: Decent
After patch it no longer stack with Seasons/Tribunal if (and make a note here) "Aura of Pure Arcanum" is casted first. But if you click away this one, then get trib/seasons you can reapply clicky after.

This is gonna make raiding druids/shammys mad as half their MGB rebuffs will be blocked by peeps that have this mask clicky on.

ummm it does stack with trib and seasons, I have this click up every night along with seasons, trib and GoD.
This is not a raid event
# Nov 16 2005 at 2:08 AM Rating: Good
I just wanted to say that his is not a raid event as you have marked, it take 23 single group missions, or 5 mission arcs; so it is not walk in the park to get, but still not a riad event.

And fyi, it takes about 17 solo kills to get it level 1% so your looking at 1700+ kills to get it to the next level.
