I bought this sword from Darksinthe for 20pp (a steal, but we roleplayed and got to know one another so it was from a seasoned warrior to a young one) and I have to say it is great for powering up the 2HS skill. I am level 12 now and was looking for a good 2HS weapon - this beats fine steel all to hell and it allows me to kill wisps which supply AWESOME PP!
Don't look down on the cool weapons of lower level characters!
Yep this would make an excellent practice weapon even to higher ups - more swings, quicker to gain levels in 2hs (or at least thats my understanding of it). At 30 I've neglected all but 1hs so now I'm trying to grab as many other types as I can before I get any higher :-)
As has been pointed out this is an excellent practice weapon. The low delay will help you get your skill up quickly. As a dwarvin paladin I like this even better than the Rantho Rapier as a practice weapon. Hit's harder and has good adds. I play the paladin on a PVP server (Tallon Zek) so +20 hps and especially +10 MR is very good. I have used this when grouped and battling darks in LOIO when the darks are whipping spells at me. After I max out my 1HS and 1HB each level I use this for awhile till I max 2HS. And lastly, as pointed out in the excellent post below THIS IS A ROLE PLAYING WEAP! Use it at meetings or whatever. Impress a wood elf girl. I had another player con me today for PVP. They almost always attack, but this time I happened to have the sword equipped. He just ran away probably not realizing it's a pretty whimpy sword. The sight of it scared him off. Is okay, if he had attacked I would have pulled out my crystalized blade and cracked darkwood shield.............
Ironhom Hammerforge Dwarvin Paladin Tallon Zek Server Syndicate of Light
i must say i was given one by a kind pally (i was lvl 7 now lvl 13) and i have used it, i like it and i get lots of coments on how good it looks and people wanting to buy it off me for 70pp +
Just thought I would say that this weapon has a matching peice to go with it. ( I beleive) It's called a Sarnak Ceremonial Dagger and they looking great together. So if this is the weapon that you attend weddings witht then you might want to go out and get the matching dagger. Arrive at the wedding with style :)
Well i have the dagger, but its a caster item, for wiz nec ecn and mage i dont know the dmg or delay on it since its really not to fight with its a 3 wis 3 int item and goes in the range slot, which makes it pretty nice for casters i believe anyways im selling it if your interested send a tell to simas on nameless woodelf ranger 36th season "zone!"
Already posted up here by someone, but I am going to reiterate his comment. Read the name morons, its a CEREMONIAL SWORD. It is a highly decorated great looking swords used for show at weddings and guild events. Yes the stats suck, yes it is horrible for people over 20, but that is not the purpose of the sword. If you have any clue about history Knights and Kings had weapons that they used only for show at events, ones they would never attempt to use in battle. This game is not all about uber weapons and who has the best whatever, some of the items in the game were actually implemented for roleplaying. *GASP* Roleplaying what a concept...
Just to reinforce, the Ceremonial Wedding Sword from the wedding up in the Tower of Frozen Shadow (which also looks tre-cool, but in the Velious style) has no Damage/Delay at all, and therefore cannot even be used in combat.
I love these pieces, they add a little variety to the game. I personally have a Barnacle Breastplate in the bank for special occasions...
This a GREAT 2hs practice item for a ranger. Find a blue animal, snare, fear, and then follow behind. the low dmg means ou need a lot of swings and low delay will give you a lot of swings.
You know this is a fair weapon, however if your class gets duel weild I would HIGHLY suggest to stick with one hands. Why lvl up with a two hander just to switch to 1hs when you really need the high skill lvls by that time? Think about it!
so if you say, its not worth to sell it for 70pp, i am lv 6 ranger, and got this from my new paladin friend, and it looks great, and it is nice 2hs magic weapon for newbies like me, so for me it is now the best weapon i have, and will have a long time, cause i dont have any higher character. of course, if you have some lv50 char, such a weapon you get every day ten times, but for someone, who just started, to get this, is very nice.
LOL Paladins seem to give this item away a lot. Everyone has been saying a very kind Paladin has been giving them this sword. A Paladin also gave ME this sword when I created a newb Ranger, a bit off the subject but of what the heck just thought I would point it out
Ok why is everyone bashing this weapon? I have one and find it to be a rather good 2H slash weapon for my char. which is a lvl 14 Ranger. I payed only 40pp for it and am currently selling it for around 100pp, hey a 60pp profit is pretty good for almost any hard working char. under lvl 20 I would say.
I beleive this weapon would work well to raise 2hs. Your skill raises based on the number of successful hits you have, amount of damage isnt important. Low delay means more swings in a given amount of time and that means you have more opportunities to get a successful hit.
I think its a great weapon if you take it in the proper context. (Im the guy who just poseted about buying one for under 2p) Its not an uber weapon of indescribable power that also summons balony sandwiches. It is a good upgrade from rusty or fine steel, it provides a hp and mr bonus, and its pretty. If you are working on twinking out your low level toon on your second account, or your a level 70 iksar warrior iin full class armor its probably not what your after. However, if your playing your untwinked low level toon and you come across one cheap. (like i did) go for it. Its an improvement over the rusty/tarnished 2 hander youve been swinging and its magical so you can whack wisps and such with it. One thing Ive noticed, is that most of the people who are complaining about how crappy it is are the same people who are trying to sell it for 100s of plat. My advise, if you wont use it, give it to a lowbie who will.
I think this weapon looks awesome if equiped but you people cant be serious that you would use this to raise your skill in 2 hand slashing. The whole reason someone uses a 2 hander is to get better damage. 8 damage is about the worst damage i have seen on a 2 hander and if I got this weapon I would give it to a newbie because it wouldn't be worth the hassle to sell it for only 70pp cause that's all it's worth if not less.
I just got one of these for my troll SK. I love it. Its not the hottest weapon out there but as non - twinked level 11 sk, it as good as Im gona get for awhile. the strength bonus combined with my siphon strength spell does wonderful things to my atk score and it looks pretty cool to boot. Want to know what the best thing about it is? I bought it for 1p 9g from a vendor in Grobb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At that price Ill be checkin that vendor everyday!
