Ambleshift's Amazing Automated Amalgamator are indeed sellable, but they are the container used to make Bazu and Lastblood augs (see my links below) which are not sellible. In other words, if you want one of those augs then you must obtain a Bazu or Last Blood, but everything else can be bought in the bazaar.

(Bazus and Last Bloods may well be tradeable on FV, I don't know)

"Before you even close the device there is a bright flash of light, leaving the item in your hands, but no sign of the device"
What is this?
# Apr 09 2007 at 5:18 PM Rating: Decent
I have to ask, what the heck is this? There's no description, it weighs 25, 10 slot giant - same as deluxe toolbox, it is a lightsource (GLS) and it's 0% Wt Red. On that basis alone, I'd rather carry the toolboxes. :P

On the other hand, I've read it can be "used" once, so I know it has to do something. Lil help pls?

It's used to combine the various DoD craftable augmentations, e.g., Last Blood of the Advisor.
worth it?

It's worth it if you're willing to put forth the time/money. I was able to make my bazu aug for around 50k, i made most of it myself and got a friend to do the 350 check tinker combines+final combine.

My tradeskills are all 200-250 so i'm not an "uber" tradeskiller, which goes to show that you don't have to be to get this item. Smithing is probably the most important part if you want to make the subcombines yourself, you'll need to make many High quality steel plates, 30 or so (sml med and lrg)

i did buy some of the rare pieces like the clockwork gnome bolts and tablet for research combine. Some of the common pieces are cheap as heck in the bazaar. it was a lot of work but the end result is a 154AC 325HP breastplate with dodge III & other stats, a huge upgrade over time chest, only other comparable chest i could get is anguish chest which is highly contested. Bazu aug is a lot of work to make but well I have finished it before I have seen another Anguish chest drop..

the Only thing i find disappointing is that the dodge 3 aug has accuracy instead of avoidance. That's ok though. Gives me the option to replace my dodge earring when i need to.

Seems like a waste of time...all those combines, rare drops and high trivials for something you can only use once....thanks SoE...another Tradeskill path I will never walk :LOL

This is not for a "tradeskill path". Read the posts made months before yours and you will see it is for the new DoD type12 player-made augments.

Lol, you counter this statement by responding like the meaning of "tradeskill path" is set in stone somewhere, wtf do you know about what he might have meant by saying that? Could just mean it's not a series of things he's willing to do to make this item, that's how I took it.

Besides, he mentioned how it's annoying to him that this can only be used once and then you have to make another one, so apparently he did read the posts made months before his. And strangely enough, you seem to have missed that particular aspect, otherwise this wouldn't have confused you into responding...

Well, the OP does seem to be missing something important. For the tradeskiller making these, they sell for 250-400kpp in the bazaar on my server. They cost about 100k to make.

Yeah what a waste of time. 150k+ profit from a single item.

For the buyer, they're even better. Bazu stones drop off DoD raid mobs, that are killable by mid-GoD level guilds. These stones can be paired up with GM armor, to make items with equivalent Hp/mana/ac to Anguish gear.

So, for guilds that are not even in Tacvi yet, they can gear their tanks up with ANGUISH level gear.

Yeah, what a waste of time that is.

/sarcasm off

anguish gear=300hp+aug.

cultural GM gear
Base 30-50hp BazaarArmor
+type 7
+type11Aug(~100hp) [grandmaster's symbols]+ multiple mods/focus
+type12Aug(~200hp) [Bazu Seal or Last bloods] + multiple mods/focus
=
500hp+ armor with multiple mods (cleave/parry/etc) and focus (improved heals/range/etc). way better than anguish armor for heck of a lot more plat and time

I would not call GM armor auggeed with a bazu "way better" than Anguish gear. My bracer is a GM bracer, with a GM aug, bazu seal of dodge, and a real nice type 7 aug.

The one way it's better is the dodge III. However, it is lower in some other ways. The regen is less, and some of the efects are different/less. The HP/mana is practically identical.

The one thing that makes the GM armor potentially less attractive, is that it has a type 7 slot, instead of type 8. For tanks, this is less of an issue, since they can aug AC augs from RSS, Dreadspire, etc. For everyone that would not chooses AC augs, there are a fairly small set of choices. Two augs from Circle of Drakes, The BiC aug, the dain MM seal, and the rest of the choices are worse than anguish augs.

So, while a couple slots of GM gear with augs might be nice, unless you are a tank, a full set will be hard to properly augment.

You can get stonewarden aug from dreadspire. Kind of pain to farm it, but worth it

Except that, to a caster/priest, 25ac 25hp is not really a good augment. With the return over cap that we get, a 65-90 hp aug would be better.

# Oct 14 2005 at 11:47 AM Rating: Decent
if i'm not mistaken this i used to make the new type 12 augs from bazu stones and last blood stones.
RE: Augs
# Oct 16 2005 at 7:26 PM Rating: Decent
Yes...it's used for the new type 12 augs.....but it can only be used once per aug....so you have to get a new box for each aug. Also, the 4 tiers that I know of are 1. Chronal 2.Bazu 3. Discordant 4. Last Blood ....(not positive about exact order)
The recipes for the augs are: Bazu Stone + epictherium(?spelling?)ooze+ mechanoinstructions(various types) combined in this box....I forget if there was a fourth ingredient(I made many in Beta but I have a poor memory).
The resulting aug depends on the mechanoinstructions used....and the strength depends on the stone. Strange thing is the Last Blood (stone) doesn't have the word "stone" it's just plain "Last Blood"...not sure if this was intended or if it will be changed.....
Hope someone will post any corrections here so info can be shared :-)

In reference to the "Last Blood" drops not saying stone, it's a folklore reference, and so I doubt that stone will be added in. According to legend, when a person would kill a magical being such as a dragon, the last drop of it's blood solidified into a stone, which would hold power determined by the age, type, and knowledge of the being that it came from. So they were very prized and rare. Sony has to get their ideas from somewhere, even if they do mangle some of them into nearly unrecognizable form...

I believe the fourth ingredient is the chronal/discordant/Bazu/Last Blood Seal for the final combine within the AAAA for the no drop aug.
What is this for?
