Dreadspire Gargoyle Dust  

 

this item dropped for me today in Ruins of Illsalin from all kind
of gargoly-mobs, maybe not that often liked explained before from
others.
no need to go to Dreadspire.

Camping the two gargoyles at the 70.1 enterance turned out to be a great farm for these. They dont assist each other as they are on the other side of a wall opposite of each other. There is one spider roamer, easily dealt with and was never so much as threat at any time.

Respawn time on the gargoyle's seemed to be fast, not fast enough to stop other pulls tho, we would pull spiders from the other side of the bridge for more XP.

In 25 kills we got 7 dusts, 11 granites, 10 glowrocks, and almost always a piece of VT.

Camp was easy, drops were common, and group was not even elemental plane geared, just cheapo pre-OoW bazaar geared with some lower end PoP raid or Vex Thal gear. I kept 4 dusts for my mission that needs them and am almost done with it :). The other 3 we put on a trader at 1.5K plat each and left him on overnight, one other trader had 2 of them at 25K a piece (yes, 25000). Next morning I checked our trader sold one and still have two left. Needless to say the person selling for 25K never sold a single one. Been checking off and on in case I can manage to get a couple more for a real bargin (sub 1K) in hopes of reserch skill-up's, alas not any more are popping up for sale for about the last week other then ours and the 25K person (who still has not managed to move one... unless he sells 1 and reloads with one more as he always has two on him)

We went back to the spot for XP again, this time got 8 dusts, 9 granites (no glowrocks) and VT again. So drop rate on the dust seems to be fairly set and common, as well as the granite. Just need to loot 3 more for finishing my quest =) The other people in group let me use the dust we got for making the Ink needed to make the mechanoinstructions. Got 2 research skill-ups in doing so.

Common drop in Illsalin and the 70.x spell progression missions. Seems to run ~2500pp average on Tunare. 1000 low, 4500 high.
