Book Text:

Seals of Darkhollow

Making a seal of Darkhollow
while it may seem simple is
a decidedly difficult
project.

There are three different
methods with which you can
make a seal.

Smiths will need to follow
a pattern and work some
unique steel, with some
similarly unique water with
two platinum bars in their
forge and cool it with some
pure liquid mana. They
must be sure to shape it
properly, and that the
pattern of the seal is
precise.

Tailors work very similarly

and will need to work with
a pattern, some unique silk
or leather, and platinum
thread. They will take
that and soak it in a
mixture of the same water
that the smiths use and
pure liquid mana. Here you
will be sewing the pattern
with the platinum thread.
It seems that fine silk,
magnificent hide, mottled
hide and shimmering silk
are the materials that
tailors have to work with.

Gnomes that want to do this
work as one of their
devices will still need to
follow the pattern.
Instead of water, they will
melt the steel that smiths
use in a mold, specific for

each metal, heat it with
four gnomish heat sources,
and coat it with two
platinum bars, and cool it
with some pure liquid mana.
Strangely enough, they
will want to do this in one
of their large toolkits
instead of the forge, as
they will need to assemble
the parts from the mold
while it is still hot.

Be sure you note this down,
because you will need to
make patterns from this
book. Get yourself a
quill, large bottle of ink,
and roll of superb vellum.
Put those in a book
binding, and when you are
done, you will have a stack
of seal patterns for your
use.

Darkhollow Geode quest is also given to high elfs, by Artisan Elistar Vorann in Northern Felwithe. (and probably given to all races by their cultural artisan in their race starter city)

The Large Darkhollow Geode CAN NOT be pre looted, sinse looting it is a part of the quest. It drops fast tho. If your doing the quest to get Seal Pattern, you get 200 pr quest.

Do you have a high elf that is at least level 20? These cultural quest npc's won't speak to anyone but of that race and above that level. I don't have any high elf characters.

Quest: Seals of Darkhollow (Half Elf)
# May 09 2010 at 11:08 PM Rating: Good
You have entered North Qeynos.

You say, 'Hail, Artisan Vor Westrider'

Artisan Vor Westrider says ''And hail to you as well, traveler. What news? It's nice to hear from someone of mixed heritage like myself. I often fear our kind will never be fully understood by either elves or human. Though we pass through their lands, we are always a little [uncomfortable] in either community. At least we half elves understand each other.'

You say, 'patterns'

Artisan Vor Westrider says 'These, I cannot give away, but I can share them with you provided you are willing to help make Norrath safe for us wanderers again. I'm currently working with the city of Qeynos to secure trade routes outside the city gates. We need someone to lead some expeditions and reduce the numbers of dangerous creatures out there. As proof of your deeds we do not want actual messy body parts, but instead we would like you to make impressions of certain body parts in impression books. These books will magically take deep impressions or even just surface patterns. Interested? The more difficult the expedition the more powerful the armor pattern, I can provide. I have also heard about a new [underground] place.'

You have been assigned the task 'Darkhollow Geode'.
- Loot 1 Large Darkhollow Geode (0/1)
- Deliver Large Darkhollow Geode (0/1)

You have entered Dreadspire Keep.

You have slain a gargoyle!
--You have looted a Large Darkhollow Geode.--
Your task 'Darkhollow Geode' has been updated.

Give the Large Darkhollow Geode to Artisan Vor Westrider in North Qeynos.

Your task 'Darkhollow Geode' has been updated.
You have been given: Seals of Darkhollow

The reason this links to the cultural armour quests, is that they are from the same questgiver. Unfortunately, Alla is way out of date with regards to the cultural armour quests.

Follow the chat with the quest NPC and say "patterns" which gives you the list of tasks for cultural augs i.e. blessed, revered, sacred, eminent, exalted, sublime, etc but he also gives a quest "Darkhollow Geode" the reward for which is the book "Seals of Darkhollow"

The Half Elf link leads to the Half Elf Cultural books page.

There is nothing there about the Seals book?

Hmmm, have done the armor/symbol quests to elaborate and noticed at the bottom of the forum that "all you say is 'underground' to your questgiver" and he/she will give it to you. The woodelf questgiver didn't say a word when I said underground to him then try the other quest mob and still nothing. What am I doing wrong? The gnome quest looked at me like I was nuts too. =) I ended up getting my gnome the mission by saying "work" and that mission was one of several offered.

Next time read the sentence instead of critiquing some one’s proper spelling. "A superb roll of Vellum"

which tells me that Tethax simply was mistaken as to which was which. One is a type of paper and one is not.

    Xentt replies:

    Quote:

which is where Xentt is simply trying to clarify the fact that Velium is INDEED spelled with an "I", where the paper Vellum is not.

    Shamanplayer replies:

So, as you can see, Not only was Xentt trying to be a nice guy and clarify something for Tethax, but he gets bashed for it. The best part of this: Shamanplayer is the real idiot for bashing Xentt for trying to help, talked about Xentt critiquing Tethax's proper spelling, when all the while, Shamanplayer mispelled Velium (yes, with an "I" and only one "L"). Way to show us all your superior intellect, Einstein

The quest giver will give you the quest once you say 'underground'. But the quest doesnt specify where the underground is. You need to loot a geode and return to quest giver which in return you should get Seals of Darkhollow. Seals of Darkhollow are used to make Bazu Augs. A slot 12 aug. Very uber but a lot of work.

This is a result of a quest/task called "Darkhollow Geode>"

It is a DoD continuation of the Cultural Armor/Augs quests/tasks.

Go to your Cultural Armor quest giver. They may or may not mention this quest (mine did not). Simply say to them, "Underground." to get this quest.
