Lately I went there to solo some IBs, velium hounds and Mastodon, and an IB dropped of these nice BPs. No silk unfortunately, but i was quite surprised to see 2 of them drop at the same time. Depending on your luck again, they're not that rare. Looted 4 silks & 2 BPs today off the 6 IBs I killed
Had a guildie killing IB in WW and one dropped I two boxxed my lvl 1 monk and with the assistance of my druid ported/ran him there to get it. Figured it was better than just letting it rot. It's pretty cool.
Last night I was in WW with an enchanter friend of mine. We were seeing if we could solo/duo there. True enough we could. I will pull stuff down in the tunnel (mammoth, and rhino's). But it seems the wall kept eating them once they got below 20% health. That sucks. Any way This little druid runs past while we were medding. Sure enough 5 mins latter he sends out a ooc to the zone saying anyone need this. We were the only 3 in the zone. So of course it went to waste. I guess it goes that way sometimes.

Yeppers, was in Siren's Groto when friend sends tell, hey you want this (links BP)? I was like OMG where? Currently was wearing the Robe of Lost Circles and was looking for something better. She was like in WW. I was like where? One word, Dragons. I was like I will be right there. I have 10mins to get there. Got there with 1 and a half mins before it rotted away. So very very happy lol. But yes it still does drop.
These bad boyz got lotsa Hp's AE 500 pointer nuke and dispell. The dont summon which rules so thats why you will see alot of druids smacking them around. My 61 Shammy pet it tough, cute but lets be real when those bastages rampage bye bye pet. So charming a brotheronium (spelling) with my chanter works best Malo a brother, tash, charm, haste, and hes ready to rock. He will do nice damage while I have agro from Slow, cripple, dots etc. I just run around in circles while the 2 pets destroy him. Each fight takes about 10min but man its fun and when u are 2boxin its pretty challenging. I usually kill the chanty once a night( poor guy just cant fight for shiet.. Well one day my monk will get a Bp. Ive killed 5 so far and no drops these bp's still drop right?
They still drop, but the drop rate is pretty bad. Not sure what it is. Good friend of mine kites them for several hours a week and has nabbed 3 tunics over the course of the last 2 months or so. The most recent was last week.
I dunno if I got really lucky or if they changed the drop rate, I went there with 2 58 druids, 58 Beastlord, and me a 53 monk. Did the druid snare/dot thing, while me and the beastlord beat it up from behind. Whole fight took maybe 4-5 mins, and it dropped 2 of these, on the very first kill. We were playing on making this a couple hour endevor.
Acquired one last night in WW, and it took about 20 Ice Burrowers to get it. I upgraded to this from a PSC, I say upgraded because the weight from the PSC was the only thing bad about it. The AC on this is similar, and the stats are only marginally less in some respects to the PSC.
As for hunting these guys, we tried the Druid kite method described somewhere below. And actually we kind of stumbled on it by accident. I would Snare and DoT with my Druid, and when sufficient aggro was built up everyone else would join in the fight. The Melee would whack away from behind the mob as he chased my Druid around in a figure 8 pattern. I was thrilled when it finally dropped, it lowered my Monks weight from 23(1hb) & 25 (2hb) to 19 & 21 respectively. Our group consisted of the following: 60 Monk (mine), 59 Druid (mine), 62 Shammy, 59 Ranja, 53 Druid, 61 Pally, 54 Shammy, 55 Necro, and a 54 Pally.
Good luck to all who are hunting for one of these :)
Ditto me today, again had killed something like 18-20 ice burrowers to get it . I also got one of the new research runes (for the 51-60 spells) yesterday off an IB, but other than that, about 75% of the IBs have had no loot at all, and the rest had a couple of Ice Silk.
I hunted all these all via charm-aggro-kiting in a circle while casting a couple of DoTs to keep aggro - I prefer to use a Velium Hound over the other critters in the zone because of their high rate of damage without any extra pet buffs (in fact, whenever I cast Savage Spirit on a Velium Hound I was using for this, it would promptly steal aggro from me and get unsnared and and uncharmed courtesy of the IB's dispell proc.
BTW, I've been stacking up a bunch of Junk Buffs ahead of my important ones (C3, PotC, Bladecoat) so that if (when!) the Ice Burrower manages to hit me, if it procs it won't rip off any buffs that are too hard to replace....
All, BTW this still drops. Had one drop for me today. Monkey (had camped at entrance in case this happened) was logged on and woohoo. As I normally solo these....I won the roll =) Usually killable in about 35 minutes solo. They have 2 forms of regen btw both massive. Regen 1 is kiting regen...not too bad but still worth using a disease DOT to assist with it. Regen 2 INSANE !! don't let this happen....if you must FD from an add it has a MASSIVE regen...regened from 35 percent to 100 percent in 1 min 30 secs. And a mob with about 25K+hp thats a HUGE regen. Mob is fairly resistant to MR and Disease...no resists ever of Fire. Good luck to you all... and for the drooling Monkeys... it only took 13 kills lol...Did I get lucky at 13 ? You decide =)
when no one is on the aggro list, mobs regen much faster than normal...try it with any mob and you will see.
also, disease doesnt cancel out mob regen, thats a myth from noobs who got rabies and the damage over time from the rabies = their natural regen...so people try and say disease stops regen, it doesnt.
The reason you drop disease is not because it eliminates regen... it IS because most disease DOT's at this level are extremely long lasting, easy to land, AND effectively negates the regeneration of most [i]soloable mobs.
Im still working on getting one for my monk, but i killed 11 IBs and know of 3 more kills, never seen a tunic. Oh well, ill just have to keep doign it, but seems like the IBs are acting wierd at the moment, uusally 5 or so up, now i seen 2 in 3 days of looking and PH killing.

so what? at level 20 my SK was ally to CoV and could easily walk undisturbed all the way to ToV even, and all he has to do to loot the item is log off his main, log on his alt and then loot the item which was probably not needed by anyone else at the time. This happens quite often.
A few days ago, my guild was setting up to take down The Kromzek captain in WW. We were standing next to charisa when one of these agroed us. We had 9 people at the scene, only 2 of them being 60 (pally and cleric.) Well the pally got agro first so he went down fast, then we jumped in there and our 59 chanter was able to slow it after 3 tries. We had one tank and I tossed a couple Cheals and that was it for the burrower, no drops but dam nice exp..I was 54 at the time and the exp bar moved nuff so that I could notice it, thats a big ole jump =) Good Luck monkeys
First of all, it's not a forgery, that graphic is very real, yes the skin tones don't quite match up but nevertheless it's the graphic for the Netted Kelp Tunic, Icecicle Tunic AND the Ice Burrower Skin. Secondly, I have a fungi tunic, I do love that regen, but I for one when grouped would MUCH rather have a stat wagon for a BP over regen when I'm likely sporting Regrowth anyways along with an extra 1k-5k HP's from the clerics and shamans at the scene. As for weight, at level 57 I ride frequently at a comfortable a 17 stones or so with good stats across the board so I could handle some more stones. I would definitely say weight matters but anyone that said this tunic shouldn't be worn by a Monk due to the weight obviously doesn't know much about Monk gear.
In regards to the Ice Burrower's that drop the tunic... I've known is this tunic for quite some time, I was in WW (ally faction so it's not as risky for me as it is for someone that's KoS to wander around there) and saw an Ice Burrower. I wanted to see just what kind of smack they laid down so I aggro'ed one. I never got hit for more than 180 in melee (they likely hit harder, this one only hit me 3 times) HOWEVER, proc'ed a 500 points AE AND a single effect dispell with every proc... he proc'ed every time he hit me as well.
So yes, I agree with Mandicus that 3 groups of 55-60 is about right and even with that, I'm more than positive someone's going to die regardless as even if the think hits for 180's, resists or not, that 500 point AE is going to dig into your skivvies with a vengence.. and the dispell is going to really suck too. It's VERY hard to get, but aside from 1 AC and the effect of Deadeye, I'd take this over the Icecicle tunic as it has better stats from where I'm sitting.
Good luck getting it, I'm gonna start prepping to kill some IB's soon myself ;)

Well, 3 groups not really needed. This is one tough beastie but we were able to kill several of them with just 3 people. A 55+ druid aggroed it and started casting his array of dots and snares. Once it was good and mad at the druid, us two beastlords, 54 and 56, sent our pets in to chew on its tail. The druid kept running in big circles around the valley to DN with the pets following behind and me casting a dot every so often. Went down without us losing any hp and rarely lost a pet.
Okies... new guild here... mainly family members... went to WW other day... to the right of the zone; 8 of us... 60cleric, 60monk, 60necro, 56warrior, 55druid, 54bard, 52monk, 52ranger.
We killed two Ice Burrowers (yellow con to 60). The first one nearly wiped us out. The warrior and myself(cleric) were standing with the IB down to E in ICE... the warrior was at very low life when I got my CH off on him and quickly rez'd the 60monk back in (who does the tanking) and was able to then polish the IB off.
The second IB was easy compared to the first. At the end of the fight I even had mana to spare.
Our intention was to get the 52monk out of his CCS... the IB dropped nothing :(
Not to say everyone should try this. It was a very hard and challenging fight, but it is possible with un-uber players to pull off.

Make sure they are all set to TRUE if you want to see the armors. Note that this will have a certain performance impact if you do not have a 64 meg graphics card - most importantly it will slow you down somewhat on your zoning (because you will be loading larger texture sets).
The last line (armor23) is for the monk textures. This you have to edit in MANUALLY for some reason - Verant mentioned this in a patch message a couple of months ago. Once you set everything to TRUE you will be able to see all the velious armors (they will no longer look like old world leather, etc)
It seems way too hard for a monk to get even some semi decent stuff. I have a 45 monk and I have had the same equipment for what seems like forever. There is absolutely nothing good that a monk can solo quest for on his own that is really any good. I think that Varant should spend a litlle time to come up with some decent items that a character wouldnt have to beg barrow and steel other high lvl characters to help him with a kill in which he may not get the roll on the item anyway. Even if he arranges the hunt himself. I guess I am just harping but it seems to take a lot of fun out of the game when you see guild leaders and such with great stuff and know that you have absolutely no chance of ever getting it yourself. Even at lvl 60 :(
Cause when you build merit with a guild you shall be rewarded. Just get a quality guild with good ppl and enjoy the times. Don't worry about loot so much, it will come to you. And yes, any 60 has alot of equip and should has a great chance of getting these items in the 55-60 range. Good luck.

This looks very pimp on iksars...same graphic as netted kelp tunic. Kinda grey middle with pinkish trim (sounds gay i know but it looks badass). Thats not a good description...hmm. Guess you gotta see it for yourself
First off these things spawn by the rest of the dragons that drop the +5 to everything talismans and they are tombstone at 58 so they are 61-62ish.
Second, this is the best non-sleepers bp that we currently know about so to dismiss this bp as not worth the trouble is a big mistake.
You can kill these things in the ne corner of west wasstes but I would suggest camping a cleric and possibly a necro there with coffins on hand for corpse recovery. Yes, sometimes 2 dragons agro or harla dar will walk by.
For already hunting dragons, these things are definately worth pulling if you have monks in your parties. The drop is kinda rare, but it's not nearly as bad as the kunark rare drop stuff.
Would suggest 2 or 3 lvl 55-60 parties to accomplish this decently.
Good idea. I'm having a debate with someone right now as to whether or not this is what we saw on the same female. I inspected her, he didn't. I could SWEAR this is the name of what I looked at. But this female was green to him at level 52. Any info or pics of this on a female would be cool.
The icicle tunic from the lord in velktors has better stats in my mind, not to mention your only 1 zone away from you bind spot, dont have to go through the grotto and survive WW, lvl 61 wurm sheesh-prolly hits for 400+
And Actually...it drops , The icicle tunic of a Lord Dorkjalsdkjf some crap like that...**** long name...he's a monk like the Gaint noble look...but sort of firegiantish..
while true Velkator is closer to a bind spot actually getting through Velkator's and to the big guy himself is a major hunt in its own right. Top it off with Velky being a tough mob to kill (we are talking Trak raid style of groups) and the fact you would have to roll against any other monks in the raid AND it has to drop off the guy in the first place you all of a sudden have quite a few problems getting that tunic. The Ice Borrower Skin however is to my understanding a MUCH more casual hunt. I have not hunted for these personally but a friend of mine says that its usually just a casual hunt of about 2 to 3 groups levels 50+ (usually 55+ if just two group). These leeches are on par with I have heard Lodizal which can be taken down by a single group if well organized and clicking together right. So yeah you have to travel further but on the other hand you won't have to fight through a multileveled maze of crap and deal with UBER sorcerer at the end.
on prexus and about every other server lol, hes about vindicator level of toughness, maybe a bit higher. if you have a well trained guild and a good CHEAL order, you should be fine, as long as the clerics dont lag out. Not as hard as some things IMHO. but just because a guild kills him on your server doesnt make you special :P. if a guild on your server kills vulak, seru, or any of those other mofos, then you can feel special.
Do ALL Ice Burrowers drop this wonderful tunic and do they drop this ALL of the time? If this is a "rare" drop then I would understand the Level to Attain being 60. But if this is a common drop, a monk would merely have to wait in the zone for a /shout Burrower Skin at (some loc).
I'd spend a week or so FD'ing in this zone for that if this is the case.
A good group of 60s could take one probably, they're a fairly moderate drop rate at 1 in 10 or so. They're kind of a pain in the *** so no one really kills them.
This should weigh 0.8 (or less), based on any 'legitimate' risk/reward, and the level required to obtain it.
Fer gawds-sake, it weighs the same as Lockjaw!
+3 AGI !? +23 HP!!? wtF~
It's sad that *this* is the 3rd-best tunic which Monks could ever get... Counterpoint, and Counter-Counterpoint:
Naysayers: But my Gawd- it's better than Crafted! Shut Up, Whining L'il Monkeys! This thing Rocks! You should be grateful! Weight doesn't matter for high-level monks! Shut *up*!!! Argh!!!!
Monks: If you're still wearing Crafted, tanking level 60+ MOBs, then either you're an under-equipped, semi-naked "E-bay Idiot", or you're *just* an Idiot; and, yes, weight always matters.
>>
In closing:
Looky, an AC 26 pair of gloves which weigh 0.0! and- looky, an Epic Quest reward that is... AC 15, and which has... weight.
=/
Ceum- Monk of the 50th (and a half) Disappointment, Tholuxe-Paells Monk of the 39th /boggle, on The Nameless
Azaz- Monk of the 12th Twink-me, on The Nameless Monk of the 1st I_turned_in_my_guild_summons, Tholuxe-Paells
Aeso- Monk of the 2nd You_Suck, Rallos~Blechk
Falconfist- Monk of the 1st I_was_Bored, on Test Server
...8< Many names, of many Monks, variously statted to determine that maxxed AGI is the Golden Path for Monks.
It's not all that bad, given that a 60 monk has a 24 wt limit, and 12 STA = 48 HP, so the total is 71 HP. If you aren't soloing (i.e. you have a Healer or someone else is tanking), this will be better than a Fungi. I've killed 4 Ice Burrowers (using Charmed velium hounds) to date, and I'll keep killing them till my 61 monk has one. :)
