Shield rocks. If you haven't done this mission yet... Do it!!! And do it until you get the shield to drop and the +4 mana regen aug to go with it. :)

The Shield of the Voids, from the Halloween mission, was good, this.... MUCH better.
Top 3 for looks
# Dec 15 2005 at 4:58 PM Rating: Decent
I just got this for my Nec and must say, IT IS VERY COOL LOOKING hehe.
I think it follow's the Cleric epic shield for looks, as I think that is THE coolest looking shield in game, but Blood Defender is a close 2nd.
It was a very nice upgrade from his Bone Shield from the Gods mm halloween special.

Cool looking
# Sep 24 2005 at 12:06 AM Rating: Default
Ok its cool looking but why the haste on a caster sheild?
RE: Cool looking
# Sep 27 2005 at 1:15 AM Rating: Decent
Well if you grab your caster a wand of dark waters which has a 750dmg proc on it. A decent proc rate will rack up dmg quite quickly. Certainly faster then say a oom caster.

Proc rates are unaffected by haste...
RE: Cool looking
# Nov 23 2005 at 11:07 AM Rating: Decent
True, but more swings = more chances to proc at same proc rate though
RE: Cool looking
# Nov 23 2005 at 6:36 PM Rating: Decent
you realise thats a complete contradiction, right?
RE: Cool looking
# Nov 28 2005 at 11:28 AM Rating: Default
Not really. Haste increases the number of swings you take over a given period of time. Each time you take a swing there is a chance for the weapon to proc (the proc rate) thus haste items(or spells or songs) will increase the number of times your weapon will proc simply because you swing more often and thus have more chances for the weapon to proc (even though the weapon itself may only proc around 1 out of every 15 swings, if you swing more often over 30 seconds, the weapon will in turn most likely proc more often over that 30 seconds then it would if you were hasteless)

BTW I love this shield. It gave me a reason to use my bandolier so I can switch out my normal secondary for this when i feel like taking a few swings at a mob.

actually, theyve done a few tests, and found that you proc a given amount of time per minute regardless of attack speed. If your weapon has a 100% proc rate (ie, not modified), it will proc X times at 100% haste and X times at 0% haste.

Basically, the game takes your haste into effect for your procs, so if you normally proc about 5% every swing with 0% haste, you will proc like, 2.5% with 50% haste.

Earthshaker groups with warriors, you actually SLOW the warrior, because his proc-rate per swing RISES, but the procs per minute dont.

If you HAVE to proc on one blow or so, slow yourself, remove your haste items, or get your delay high.

SoE has actually stated that Procs are Random, if you have tests with valid PROOF, with time'ing and testing over the averaged course of several hours, id like you to post a link

it dosnt exist because it isnt true, Procs are random, more hits per min. means more chances to proc per min.

Hammer of hours or other time proc'ing effect do become better with effects such as haste

actually, procs are not random, check out monkly business, the steelwarrior or evil gamer websites and you'll find hours upon hours of parsing logs. the average proc rate of a weapon, provided the weapon itself doesnt have a proc rate modifier( some do) is 2 procs per minute with 305 dex, 3 procs per minute with 305 dex and weapon affinity 5.
