#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 16 2002 at 11:07 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What is the big deal over people hating druids? I don't get it? It seems out of game too, no one would ever say anyhting like that to a Druid in game, because they are so useful. Perhaps I've just been terribly lucky and every Druid I've ever met has been a saint. But, I mean, are people jealous of SoW and such? Bards can do alot of things too, but no one has ever given me flack for my ability to outrun a GM (lol, spirit of Norrath my ***, lol, Selo's all the way). Is it the whole porting thing? Wizards can too, but no one hates them. Is it that they have lots of abilities? So do monks, and necros for that matter, but I don't see alot of people hating them. Maybe I'll just start randomly hating BL's or something to get attention... down with BL's!!! They have... pets? Yea... btw, cool bracers...
These dragons

Outside ToV along the north wall is a bunch of CoV faction dragons. Were yellow to 56 except for Ionat(he silences bad news). They drop the +6 all talismans, an array of dragonhorn armor, level 55+ velious spells, some book, and heads for kael quests. Got peerless, heavy, and reenforced from them(no matchless =(, worked from the dragons by the ocean(+4 talis droppers).

Last time i killed the ones by ToV used one group. A 60 rogue, 60 war, 60 ranger, 57 mage, 56 shaman and 56 cleric. Quite a fight for one group, mage died twice =/ Each dragon has its own variation. They debuff, some dot, some heal, some AE dd. Don;t remember any fear, but the one that silences killed us so left it alone.

Max ally CoV to kindly was about 7 or 8 dragons for reference to size of faction hit. Killed 9 total last round never went below kindly.

#REDACTED, Posted: May 12 2001 at 11:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You talk about quad kiting?? go to a Druid Site and look up how quad Kiting is done than complain again. Why you think only 1 out of a few 100 Druids quad Kite???Because its better Exp to solo Kite. And why you think most 50+ Druids dont reach at 200 wis??? because only 1 out of 100 is lucky enough to get the verm Bracer. In 10 Fear Raids maybe 3 Pieces Verm will drop and be sure its not a Bracer.so stop talking like a ******

Hmm . . Alot of valid points here . . lets just sum them all up. Druid from 50 to 55 CAN kite VERY effectivly in Burning woods, same as shaman, wizards, and many other casting classes. I've even seen clerics Kiting there. Druids from 55 to about 58 can and still DO kite in skyfire, all be it not as easy, but the renouned kiter can and will always find a way and a p[lace to e4xploit thier tallaents. That aside, the Armor lays out like this, Friend of mine doesn't have one piece of Verm. He has 200wis tho, and he is wearing ES helm, arms, boots, gloves and one bracer. For his tunic he's wearing a Treeweave. and Gator legs. Wielding a Paw and pearl kedge totem. Tho maybe druids don't get alot of fancy items or Urber items, druids do however get the items they need to make them well ballanced in thier own right. With new jewelry and some easier to obtain items from Kunark and Old norath Druids are still elite in their area, and not many classes get those luxuries. Yes, druids do need help, They need better group oriented spells, and less kiting material spells. Maybe even a bit more flashy armor, but thats all it is . .. Fluff. Druids are by far one of very few classes that can and have effectively solo'd from lvl 1 to upwards of lvl 58 or maybe even more. Not naming names but I know one that is 55th has limited time most days to play so he does solo alot. He's 55th and almost 56th now from soloing SKyfire. He's died a few times doing it but over all he's perfected his style and now he's one of the best kiting druids i've ever seen, and let me tell you. . . Watching him kiting 3 seafurry cyclops perfectly and safely in OOT from 49 till 51 was just awesome.

Now for all those complainers over armor types. . . .

Vermiculated armor isn't Chain, it is whats considered advanced Leather.

Chitin shell armor is a more advances form of chain, much like the Bark leggings for rangers.

Graphics and apperaces in EQ can be miss leading, they show you a visual look of chain or platemail, tho in respect they are little more than a fancy looking leather armor from a stronger source. Much like Rubicite armor was for rangers, a Advanced chainmail. You really should look to the bassis of the armor before you think about its actuall looks. Dragon made armors are normaly made from Thick very dense scales off elder dragons. Its a material in some cases stronger than most metals, and much more durable. There are some cases tho that will allow you to wear actuall plate or chain even as a druid tho however. Imbued Mithril elven chain made by Highelves is wearable by druids, it offers decent stats also.

In summary i don't think druids are all that over looked armor wise. Also it doesn't take any more money to outfit one than any other comparable class either. They do need work group wise, cause for one i think thier spells do not allow them to offer a group much at all. by mid 50's most Hybrid classes can almost out buff druids saving Natureskin and Skin like nature. But that is allso a balancing point for druids also, cause a druid that has to spend less time buffing will have more mana for healing and probably even a bit extra to throw a spell or two around during the fights. Thats also where their Kunark armors come in very handy. Mana free drones of doom on ES arms. . . thats a good deal of added damage to a fight in most cases that doesn't take or force them to waste mana and keep them from healing. the new addition of pets to those druids above 55th even adds another tank to the group, and if you feel bored, pick up a Ykesha war club, and mix it up a little in melee. . . .Cause even a druid can melee some like shaman do, and they DO have the ac to take a few hits just as well as a ranger does.

This is a long post, but its something that explains all reasons for the type armors available and might just give you a better outlook for your class. cause you can see, most classes when broken down are equal in alot of ways. Even a ranger, cause hehe when a ranger hits 57th he's a good fighter and able to cast most things a 44th druid can.

Kyshin Wu
39th Monk

Crelos
59th druid

I curently have 194wis and 200 mana with 840ac on my 59th druid, tho i also have ES legs and Tunic, but I know if you research it, you can get wis to above mine with near or more mana items.

Stop whining

Personally, I don't hate druids. in fact, I've got good friends that are druids. But here's how I look at this item and other dragon armor pieces, speaking from a ranger's POV. One thing Verant went out of their way to do with Velious was to help the hybrid classes out and balance them a bit so they wouldn't be overlooked when they go LFG in any given zone. At the opening of the expansion they even said so. Items like this even out the playing field so hybrids have it a bit easier and can be just as valuable an asset to a group as any other. The bracer has all the good stats a wis-using, plate wearing class would want, but it's hard enough to get as to not overpower any particular class.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 07 2001 at 11:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yes, Druids are cheated once again. But what gets me is, whats Vermiculated? it looks like Ivy Etched and Banded armor combined (which is chain-type) and we can wear it. Its rediculous. crazy crazy crazy verant need to stop sittin in their egg-shapped chairs, listenin to tunes, and stop smokin off of their bongs!
Ummm, silly ??

I have just wasted way too much time reading these posts i hopes of gleaning information. What drops this bracer? Where, specifically? What level is mob?

Just searching for relevant postings.

Vellious armor and Druids...
# Jan 04 2001 at 8:48 PM Rating: Default
It seems that there is a lot of armor in Vellious that is Dragonscale or Dragonbone.
It has always been my understanding that Druids were limited from plate armor since it wasnt natural and didnt come directly from nature.
Hence the reason we can wear chitin armor.

But the stuff from Vellious is rather annoying. There has been quite a bit of armor that sounds like a druid should be able to wear it, including this item.

I wont go so far as to say that Verant hates druids, but I honestly think that we get overlooked, or the things we can use are so difficult to get, it makes it nearly impossible.
Either that, or we are just so unlucky to not have found any of the really good druid armor yet.

Oh well, that's my two cents.
WTF Not Druids
# Jan 04 2001 at 5:12 PM Rating: Default
Why in the(BLEEP) can't druids use this? How stupid. They can use the CHA+ as well for charming animals. Plus the both the AC/WIS+ would be great for them. Again the Treehugger gets shaft. Stupid just plain STUPID!!

Other than that its a nice bracer!

#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 04 2001 at 8:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I do not know about anyone else - but I am tired of hearing the hippies whine. Any druid worth his bark doesn't need WIS at that level. Also, AC on druid?? Yeah they get hit all the time with SoW, snare or root, and DoTs. Farming kings I say.
RE: Leather/Chain/Plate
# Jan 05 2001 at 4:03 AM Rating: Default
pardon me but you can't solo with no mana even with ES. It has way to long of casting time and if you do snare you have to run for 15 seconds (with sow and it snared) to get off your ES Vambs, so quit complaining that we get too much stuff when i know for a fact (done lots of research) that i can spend another 18k in items ande have exactly 200 wisdom, i have about 45k in items as it is. Most clerics can use a minnimum of 10k to get 200 wisdom. And then they have all those slots open for mana items.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 04 2001 at 2:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I would have to say that this is clearly a bard's dream! wis/cha/ac who else of these classes could benifet so much from ALL these. Sure the wis is great for the other caster classes listed but the cha is not neccesarily needed on a pal sham clr rng..
No...
# Jan 04 2001 at 5:42 AM Rating: Good
No, AC/CHA/DEX is a bard's dream. What do bards need WIS for?

AC/CHA/WIS is a Shaman's and high-level Cleric's dream. Shaman debuffs are affected by CHA. Also, Cleric spells such as Death Pact, Atone, Fear, and Lull (rarely used, but useful if you have high CHA) are highly dependent on CHA.
i like this item for one reason...
# Jan 04 2001 at 12:51 AM Rating: Default
I am glad that plate classes get it. I would rather see a Pally, Shamen or Cleric with it other than a DRUID! Innorruk, please kill them all. I asked hatefully.... c'mon! you have to!
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 04 2001 at 11:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) #6 them rangers need 'em too... everyone must pity rangers too: not full-blooded Warriors he..he..he...and not even close to druids :P (If you are perhaps one of those chars who have had all the chars and are playing one because you enjoy the challenge then please disregarding this post.)
Kill them but more reasons
# Jan 04 2001 at 10:46 AM Rating: Default
Reason to like these..#1...they would 'rock' on a Bard.#2Pally's just plain need the help.. hehe...you have gotta pity a class that is not a Warrior or a Cleric...and can be bothered for a rez...lol...... #3 Everyone should always be glad to see Clerics have the option at wearing any good gear. #4 I appreciate, that they gave them to 'Shamens' as you called them, cause there are never enough Clerics. It is nice that they gave them to Rogues too.
It is most likely that Druids could of used these more than all but the Bards, that is perhaps why the did not get them. They would've had such great potential for use and maybe even the option for some abuse too <[{:'o(>> *sobs* Yes, I have to agree with you too many druids would have taken them away from others. #5 I have to agree, Innoruuk please kill all Druids that give us a bum rap...and all the ones that would have taken this item and not known how to use it ...PLEASE....I asked enviously. And Then there would be just enough of us to give us the option to wear this and not take em away from the intended class(es).
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 04 2001 at 2:46 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, my score filters failed me this time. I try not to waste my time and bandwith reading posts such as this, unfortunately for me this time a pleb like Aenaelil has a decent score. Feh.

Look at it this way with the amont of Uber wis gear in the game now people can gte 200 wis with 4 pieces and the other pieces just for looks. Your a druid thats ******** about an 11 wis bracer, go get some verm bracers +9 wis not as good and a few less ac. For over a yeaer druids had acess to the best bracer in the game for wis caseters. Get over it stop ******** and well done Karana
RE: dumb

HAHAH

You make a point ot mentin the druids bracers...do you have any idea just how rare druids Verm drops?

My beef with this item and items like it out with the expansions are..they are not plate looking in the icon (bone?...we can wear Chip bone..why not this one)..is that all the CHA and WIS item combo items in the game can not be used by druids. It seems sort of odd to me. But then again..Verant hates druids.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 05 2001 at 4:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I hate druids too. ***** them. Hehe.
