#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 23 2001 at 3:14 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hehe well, why is it you always hear casters rolling or wanting to roll on tank/any melee gear. You never here melees ******** or wanting to roll on caster gear though, that would chap some of your casters asses if most of us played by those rules, so everyone that supports Casters should get a roll or a chance at getting Uber Melee gear, you can kiss my *** you whiney little greedy pricks.
RE: lmao... casters...

hmm......thets count the number of insults he threw at casters.....I count 11 but I may be wrong. plz post if you can find more. Oh and try and think more creativly when you insult people you used the same insult like 10 times. When you wanna flame somebody at least learn some better insults.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 22 2001 at 7:58 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) JCBurkhead casters go to places they get nothing so that the tanks will go to places where nothing drops for them
Another quick thought
# Apr 18 2001 at 6:27 PM Rating: Default
Having been on guild raids I still find it irrelevant. Why should casters waste their time helping on raids and camps when they won't get a chance to roll on something that pops up? And yes, farming sucks but that's the reality, kinda like Playstation 2s and Furbies (a couple years ago). Again, just a thought.
RE: Another quick thought

Because you idiot you go on raids to help your guild you dont just go to get stuff for your characters. How would you like the tanks in your guild to decide not to help you get your uber caster loot because you decide not to help them get loot. And yes I have been in on a yelinak raid that got this item to drop one of the nodrop version and 2 of the droppable version from same kill. The nodrop version was awarded to my sk while one of the droppable went to a bst yeah the main tank already had better. also the caster earring dropped during the same kill.

Just to reiterate you go on raids to help your guild kill something that maybe they could not take down otherwise. Not just to loot some item.
Class specific

Im sorry but all these people that say "all classes should be allowed to roll" don't know what it's like to be in a large guild or on a large raid. That's just the facts, the classes that are best suited for an item roll.

Those that whine, complain and stamp thier feet because they dont get to roll on a tank item when they are a caster or a caster item when they are a tank, get kicked and asked to leave. PERIOD

Let me explain. If a caster won this item a tank lost on the AC, dex, and str in the item, the person that looses is the GUILD that the tank belongs to. Simply because he will not be as effective in his class as he would have been with the item. The caster would not gain nearly as much as the tank would have and therefore gains the guild less by winning.

In the next epic raid that tank could be more effective against the mob, that's what's important. There is no if ands or butts about this. Go on some big raids and find out. If you don't like it, don't play.

My thoughts
# Mar 09 2001 at 10:35 AM Rating: Default
Just wanted to say I agree with the guy(or girl) who said as a caster that they would want to roll or buy looting rights. The point of the game is to develop your character AS YOU, THE PLAYER SEE FIT. Just because one or two or, hell, even five players in a group seem to think that an item fits a certain class is irrelevant. If we continue to pigeonhole items into "class" loot all we'll have is a group of identically armed and armored characters running around. What's so great about that?? The other side of this is each member of a group is equally as important in its own role (tanks absorbing damage, enchanters mezzing, etc) and should have a fair roll to an item. Anyway, those are my thoughts on this. Enjoy and good hunting.

To add to the posts above with some actual info.. Lord Yelinak is the "boss" type mob of skyshrine. He is a dragon deep inside. Takes about the same amount of people to successfully kill him as it does Wuoshi.
Quit crying

To Contunue everyones gripes. i am a cast and i would love to have that earring. just and every one sould be able to roll on ANYTHING that they would USE.
I also hate seeing jerks roll on a great item just to sell it.
That like farming an item, and i hat that as well!!

Now if i was in your group and won the roll on this earring I would use it. not sell it. If you hated me because as a caster I rolled and won and you rolled and lost, wether you were going to use it or sell it... all I can say is GROW UP !

I have seen many times meelee classes (all of them in the group) roll for an item and there were 2 that wanted it to use and the rest to sell. So don't just cry about casters rolling on this. we cannot sell it IT"S NO DROP

Umm, I believe he said that.

At any rate, heck, I'd pay the group that killed him 1500pp just for looting rights to it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 26 2001 at 5:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ROTFLMAO! 1500p 1500p!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA
What a lame comment :(
# Apr 07 2001 at 8:27 PM Rating: Decent
Mezmer quit bashing on a newbie that doesnt know the "looting right" for this would cost like 500k In trades.
I know what i am talking about a lvl 60 Warlord paid one of our uber guilds ~250k in highlevel items so they kill the queen Velazul Di`Zok for him and he can Loot the Queen blade for his Epic. But that was because all warriors in that guild had Queen blades or Epics already :D
I doubt that there will ever be a guild where all melees have this earrings
and to our caster that wants it. If you would be high enough to be able to talk about uber loot
You would know you wouldnt wear this. Why ? because it ONLY gives you AC as an "Important" stat, and AC is NOT important for casters, you wont be able to tank a Dragon no matter how much AC gear u wear ! If you get agro because you blasted on the Big mob too early then you are dead, and its not your equipments fault, not your Clerics fault its just your own fault because you nuked before the command to nuke was given

Oh wait this must be a mistake, the first good Velious equipment that doesen't give perfect stats for tanks and perfect stats for casters so Verant can watch us squabble over them(bastards). OK, so maybee im blowing this out of proportion, but im glad they finally stopped ******** things up.

# Jan 03 2001 at 8:51 AM Rating: Default
Actually this is extremlly good for casters (that are at or close to 200 int/wis), and tanks. Low weight maxs it really good for caster that dont have as much in the str department as tanks.

*Warning*
Before you read further, realize that the following thread has detiorated into name calling and flames. Basically, the posts are broken down into 2 sets.
1) The tanks / melee classes on the raid should recieve the item. (correct response)
2) Everyone should roll on the item (incorrect response)
Lots of people chose 2) due to lack of experience I think. There were lots of references to everyone in the "group" rolling on the item. As if you could kill the boss mob of Skyshrine with a pickup group or something. No, this mob will only be killed by a well-organized guild. Now, I am guildless, but am a high 50's character from a much demanded class, so I have been on many raids with very strong guilds. This is how looting seems to work:
1) The guild discusses who needs it. I have recieved the most loot on raids from guilds using this tactic, despite not even belonging to them. These are your friends and people you often fight with, so you realize it's important to emphasize everyone's strengths for your own good. After all, I sure feel safer when my tank has more AC than the wiz in the party.
2) The guild has a pre-ordained strategy for determining loot rights, including seniority, buying items with raid points, rotations, etc. Hypothetically the wizzie could spend all his raid points on this item, but that's going to anger the tanks, and he probably won't. Once again he doesn't want to ***** over the friends he depends on to get an item that will make him marginally better.
3) Everyone who really needs the item will roll. Based on the stats for this item, 99% of the time the officers are going to say, melee only roll.
4) Ninjalooting. Typically the tanks are the closest so they have the best chance of snagging items.
Oh please
# Jan 03 2001 at 9:11 AM Rating: Default
Please don't tell me a caster would want to roll against a tank for this... The name of the mob it drops from, Lord Yelinik, sounds like he's pretty deep in, and the mobs in the shallow end of this zone can be pretty tough. This is like a warrior wanting to roll for a white dragonscale because the cloak will help him learn trade skills faster...
RE: Oh please
# Jan 03 2001 at 9:43 AM Rating: Default
Hmmm.... well, I'll say this -- That's prolly the best earring I've ever heard of, and is also probably pretty damn rare... If you're gonna tell me a wizard should be able to roll on this thing (Note, it's No-Drop ) so they could carry more, I don't think you'd stay in my group very long... =)

Thank god the alliance would never allow casters in this. I think this item went to an uberwarrior Thun DerStuck.

TELL me about it!! I was with an otherwise GREAT group in Sebilis not too long ago, and the runebranded girdle dropped. The group, except for the 2 tanks, decided all should be in, since the belt gave +25 mana as well. So the ML in the group rolled alpha, and a cleric won the RBG. Needless to say, I left asap. STILL steamed about that BS!! (really ticked me off when I later saw the cleric auctioning the belt in FP).
I get sick of seeing warriors in on bonecaster robes or mystic cones, when there are casters that need better equipment in the group, and I REALLY get sick of seeing druids and wizzies wanting to be in for melee items when the warrior in the group is still in crafted and using poor weaponry.
Just my 2 bits.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 04 2001 at 11:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well actually I would love to have this item. Right now I am sporting an Ivandyr's hoop and a cougar fang earing. Why you might ask? For the AC. After I capped my int at 200 the next thing I go for is AC. AC IS a phenominally important stat because in the higher end game we end up doing alot of tanking and every little bit helps. I would bow out to the tanks on this earring but I would still kill to have it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 06 2001 at 9:09 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'm so sick and tired of hearing every punk a$$ little ***** talk about how they feel they're worthy of getting an item cuz it's for their class. Point being if you're in group you ALL roll for item no matter who can use it or who needs better equipment yadda yadda yadda waaaaa waaaaa waaaaa you little pu$$y. Go slit your wrist and sit in a warm bathtub you pr!ck.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 26 2001 at 9:37 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) With an attitude like that you will never see the high end encounters, so I guess the whiney pu$$ys win in the long run
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 08 2001 at 5:47 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I agree, it sucks to be in a party and constantly get fu&ked out of rolls because your not a "caster" i mean com on, why do you think i'm in the damn party? Because I want a chance at the loot to not because i'm a nice guy who wants to give casters better loot and sit arround holding my man sausage! EVERYONE should get a roll on ANYTHING of value!

Good luck getting in a guild with a decent rep on my server. Pretty much anyone who doesn't go NbG is considered pariah on The Rathe.

i have to agree with those that say u role based on what ur class is. If u think u can get in a guild as a caster, go on a guild raid in skyshrine and try to roll for this u will be kicked out faster than u can say "but its for my twink." U dont go on guild raids to get as much loot as possible u moron's. It's to get some exp have a great time and get one or two awesome pieces of equipment. Unless no melee class wants the earring,(highly unlikely) u casters have no chance of getting this. Anyone who has been anywhere that requires multi-groups knows this so just ignore the morons who say otherwise.

Since when is level a sign of intelligence? I would love to get my hands on this for my Cleric, for the Dex and AC. Ever grouped with a Cleric who has low AC? He won't last long, and the GROUP won't last long without the Cleric. Fact is, this item has stats EVERYONE can use, and thus SHOULD be rollable by anyone. Period. You may not like it, but who's gonna roll on a NODROP if they aren't gonna use it? I don't like farming myself, believe me. I'd get pissed every time some int caster or melee type camped Gynok in Befallen, saying that they wanted to sell the ring. Camping him for a friend or an alt is fine by me, but when you just want the money, that's bunk. Besides, there's MUCH easier ways to make 1K at level 35 than the Plat ring from Gynok. Anyway, my point is simply this:
If someone WILL use the item, and especially in this case it being NODROP and unsellable, why CAN'T they roll on it? And just because all of you are spouting off about "Well, I'M in a high level guild," DOESN'T mean you're so special or grand, you AREN'T the smartest person in the game, and you DON'T know everything.

Remember,

IT'S JUST A GAME!!!!!
RE: Must Be Newbies
# Feb 07 2001 at 2:36 AM Rating: Decent
Odds are that you probably won't be rolling on something like this as more than likely you would only see this on a raid and the guildleader would more than likely have a good clue as to who to give it to.
End it!
# Mar 16 2001 at 9:35 PM Rating: Default
This is insane, no one in this game can dictate anything. You pay for it, good for you, you have a hobby. But you are not the creators. People can roll for whatever they want. No one else should be able to tell they cannot roll for an item because of their class. Like my little brother says, "your not the boss", now go and kill things, have fun and take your agressions out on the game. If you get real pissed about losing a roll for something and the person who got it is the "wrong" class, then I know a great little orc and dark elf duo that is fun smashing. Go to Crushbone and play out your anger. Really! It's fun!
RE: End it!
# Apr 07 2001 at 8:40 PM Rating: Default
Aye end it
Yelniak is big phat ugly *** kicking and requires a guild full of 55+ people to take him down
This guild has many tanks in it wearing Cougar Claw earrings or Sarnak earrings and the WANT this ring. They deserve it period. Clerics dont have AC problems past 55 because their plane armor gives more AC than Thorny vine or Tolan Darkwood armor.
Items should go to the Classes that have the HIGHES advantage of it. the example of the RBG with 25 mana is a very very bad joke :(
and to the newbie with the L4/\/\3 typing : Class lotto is something that people dont know in Crushbone, you'll know it later.
I guess it's a good earring
# Jan 03 2001 at 4:56 AM Rating: Default
But where is the +25mana and +7 int +7 wis to go with the all/all?
RE: I guess it's a good earring
# Jan 26 2001 at 9:33 AM Rating: Default
There are two styles of Yelinak earrings, other one is for casters with fairly comparable stats. Its not like what classes it drops for matters, the guilds killing Yelinak will NEVER lotto anything, that much can be pretty much guaranteed.
Great Earring
