#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 12 2001 at 3:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok, take a look at these gauntlets people.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 10 2001 at 4:43 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) These gaunts own any haste item you will ever find. They have 40% haste on them and are the best haste item in the game. Furor the leader of Foh which is the best guild in this game has full warlord armor except for gaunts because he uses these for haste. And if any newbs wondering he has about 5200hp 1356ac 1300+atk when hes buffed out. RAGE ON HUMAN WARRS!!!

According to Absor, as of the last patch you now have to have at least amiable faction to complete King Tormax's quests.

Yes AC is benifitial to all classes. However, who is repeatedly up in the mobs face. Remember, after he waxes my a$$ hes coming for you. Soloing may be possible till level 20 for most classes, it is not feasible. By the time you get to lvl 50 its simply not possible for a melee type to solo an even con mob unless you can kite. Even then it is fruitless.

Post after post after post, the name of the game is AC for melees. I wonder how the fuss would go if I rolled for item that was benificial to a caster but that loosely I could wear. I remember when the the mithril gorget (or whatever it was called) was the highest AC in the game. But it always went to the casters first.

It makes me sich that casters want to play both sides of the fence only because the afore mentioned scenario of me getting a caster item simply doesn't happen. Even if a caster can wear the d amned thing, he should pass on the roll. But then again, I forgot the name of the game... Evergreed.

Some pople are just plain dumb.
These gloves should go to any melee with a droppable dragon haste item. I would not bar warriors from this because the kael gloves are almost the same....My guild has hunted ToV a LOT and we have not seen ANY Plate gloves at ALL. And we have several people in plate BPs and Legs =).
There are a lot of good cloaks (how many cloaks rot off cazic?). With haste glovs a warrior can get an extra 100hps from a cloak. As can any class.
I would NOT give these to a melee over a warrior. You say "unfsair! Foul!". Think about this. How many casters have their defense capped at level 60? Not many at all. How many casters EVEN IN FULL AC GEAR could be hit for anything less tha ax damage off most Velious mobs? I am sorry, my level 56 enchanter is always being hit or max damage, my ac was a little less than 1000. I realised ac is worthless to a caster. Honestly, get yer heads from your backsides casters, it is useless to you in the high end game (sure, it may< help wit that dog beating on you in karnor...but what abotu Sain? Derakor? The statue?). This item can majorly upgrade a melees ac and resists as well as a nice hp bonus. He can then pass down a dragon haste item and sort out another melee with a nice upgrade. to caste it adds great mana and hps and resists, yes...but the greatest advantage comes when given to a MELEE.. When you are killing stuff like work to better the guild NOT the individual. Anyony caster who says him getting this item is going to benefit us more than ANY melee getting this item is selfish imo.

I dont say itzs not a good item or a caster, its a GREAT item for ANYONE. The thing is, it benefits melee more, i am sure 99% of you can see that (I dont doubt the 1% will now jump for my throat tho)

Ok now a ranger can solo easily with bow and snare thats not hard, now a monk can solo with FD and fear, SK can also solo, hmmm Wizards can solo too odd, I can make an ENC solo to level 20 pretty easy, Necros... well you know necros, Mages can solo, rogs can solo, bards can solo, hmmmm odd trend, warriors can solo, missed any? oh yeah, druids can solo, shaman can solo, cleric can solo, hmmmmmm whats left...., paladin can solo also sheesh what a magical trend we are on, missed any? i sure hope not, just for all the fools out there, any class if well played well geared and enjoyed can solo, nother tip to people... neat philosophy here "Play something you enjoy, not something you need or want to have around, play something you find fun, you will find it much easier to solo if you can enjoy what you are doing instead of getting stressed out..." also if someone would be kind for me could u toss this on a msg board or 2??? thanks

you are as stupid as you call others you moron, saying all classes can solo, when talking about solo, we all mean something that is worthwhile, not some green waste of time you idiot. warrior? solo? no, rogue? no, cleric? no! you are a fool, what a waste of space. those are group classes, not solo artists, unless greens ya freak.

It amazes me how idiotic and brainless some warrior classes truly are. AC is a benefit to all classes. Let me spell it out to you morons. Eq: Fighting the Planes (or anywhere high lvl mobs r found) and facing a 2 hour CR, party requests the wiz mem evac, heavy spawn, people dieing, group leader shouts for the evac as the wizard is cornered in melee... believe me.. that exta ac will save not only the wiz'z life but yours too and no 2 hour cr. No matter how little the difference in AC is it could make a big difference as to how u spend your night, fighting or CRing. God im sick of stupid players
RE: Wake up meatshields
# Mar 18 2002 at 1:45 PM Rating: Decent
I have to agree. The above poster is a complete and utter moron and should be forced to hand in his everquest CDs immediately and never return.

Casters do not loot Yelinak's head, ever. This item is given to melee classes to augment current haste % and allow them to use some of the better back/belt items. They have some of the highest AC in the game for hand wear, can you say the same about a CoF or CoCW? No. These gloves allow melee classes to get rid of cloak/belt haste items to make way for Lod shields and Dain belts/Turtle Belts.

The silly thing is, every post with an opinion about this item that has the word "roll" or "random" in this thread should be filtered and deleted to save valuable space, because the posters obviously haven't a clue. In the high end game, items are not "rolled" for. Raid leaders decide who gets what item based on need, and how it would best help the guild. I've seen many players removed from guilds because they couldn't grasp this concept. Not getting anything on a certain raid? Waste of your time? Not going? Great, no loot for you next time either. It is all about helping your fellow guildmates, a concept lost on the majority of selfish pricks who play this game.

Sorry casters, no gauntlets for you.

And yes, I own a pair of these as well.

RE: Wake up meatshields
# Mar 18 2002 at 1:50 PM Rating: Decent
Oh, and to follow up the pure caster's post above mine. You wake up moron, since from the meat of your post I sincerely doubt you have ever even been to the planes. If the raid leader calls for an evac (hardly ever happens in a planes raid, you die where you are and be happy about it while the clerics camp), and your little wiz has something pounding on him, you are already dead. The typical planes level mob, weak as they are, duals for around 140'ish or so, and is fairly quick. You arent getting jack off for spells, so dont give us your load of horse dung about how you need ac.

RE: dumb people
# Jan 22 2002 at 10:01 PM Rating: Decent
your dumb, stop talking until you can kill anything even close to that high a lvl
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 12 2001 at 3:40 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Uhm... what kind of moron evac's from the planes? Just typing to pass time? Man I hope i'm never in the planes with you...
# May 25 2001 at 12:00 AM Rating: Default
Whoever said AC does not mean jack to casters is either retarded or just seriously lacking in high level game experience. Ask an ench with 1kAC to charm a level 53 mob, then ask the ench with 600 AC to charm the same mob, lets see who is alive after the hasted mob breaks charm.

To say one item is better for your class is just biased. Everyone does it, I play a shaman as my main, and I would love these gloves, any tank who would take these over their ToV/kael quest gloves is a little wacked IMHO (warlords gloves give 30ac FYI) where as classes who cannot normally take the agro (Ench), but need too when debuffing mobs would beinfit more from them. This is a biased opinion really. These quest items were designed so everyone would want them and it would not be simple handing them out.
RE: blah
# Jun 04 2001 at 8:10 PM Rating: Default
In case you missed it, the person who said that AC was worthless to a caster did say the item is good for everyone, but especially for Melle type people. I happen to agree. If you play a Ench who gets smacked around a lot for crowd control, you don't really have a good group.
You make reference to a 53 MOB. I'm assuming that you're high enough now to know that you should protect your casters at all cost, not necessarily with AC, but with your Melle people. Anyone who allows a ENCH to get smacked around after mezzing something should not even be in your group to begin with.

Solution....After MOB is mezzed, have a Ranger throw a snare on it to draw the attention away from the ENCH. Ensnare will make Ranger MOB #1 on hit list and they'll survive a lot longer until a warrior can peel it off, or a successful jolt.

One thing to always remember.........Snare/Ensnare does not break a mezzed creature.......Only pisses them off while still mezzed.

Does anyone know if you have to have Ally level faciton to get the gloves now after the new faction patch? Previously I believe indiffernet or better was enough to finish this quest, but I wonder if it was changed now. Would be a shame to loose a nice item like this because of faction.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 06 2001 at 12:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ever watch an Enchanter cast Tash on something?
#Anonymous, Posted: May 05 2001 at 2:49 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) A friend on Tunare server was in a guild.. wont say who. Anyway they were killing yelinak for the 5 or 6th time. Anyway it was his turn for the head (there was a list for them) and some new guildy warrior ninj'd the head.. disbanded.. shouted "later guys" to zone.. and then drank a gate potion. Thats just not kool man. He still got his gloves in the end but.. not kool.
# Apr 25 2001 at 2:07 PM Rating: Default
depending on what the haste is this probably wont go to monks because by the time yelinik falls they will have celestial fists. probably will be rolled/merited to another melee class. might go to cleric or shaman as well.

These are meant for Melee, so get over it
# Apr 22 2001 at 1:54 PM Rating: Default
Casters will never get a shot at these with any guild that has half of a collective brain amongst them. AC is ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS for casters, face it. If you want to tank, play a melee. Caster defense caps, and the utter lack of defense skills, will make it impossible to survive getting hammered by 51+ mobs just because they have a single piece of uber gear AC on one or two slots. RIDICULOUS ASSUMPTIONS!! If your cummulative AC totals aren't where they need to be for tanking, you will get your *** kicked, regardless (minimum 1000 post 55 range, 1100 average, 1200+ preferred)

there are TONS of other bad *** mittens out there for casters. And their ain't a soul in
my guild, I am proud to say, that would seek a roll for an item like this if they wouldn't use it for its' two most obvious advantages, AC and Haste.

I'll agree that Hybrids get the best use out of these, but any warrior or rogue would be allowed a roll for it in SOK.

The selfish greed of so many is saddening. Do what's best for your guild, always.

Posts such as this one makes one believe the self absorbed person posting this. Chances are you are a Half breed Why would you not post this to help your own gain and benifit to obtain the guants for yourself or lessen the odds to your favor for such a post.Greed you speak of? The greed seems to lie within your words my friend. Why shun any class that stands beside you in combat to the death?
#Anonymous, Posted: May 08 2001 at 12:04 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Of course this is one of those brick headed melee classes posting this junk.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 03 2001 at 2:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I disagree Thomaas - AC is not worthless to casters, though maybe you think that because you play a Ranger and Paladin (no I don't care about your newbie level 40 [insert INT caster class here] if you have one). Personally I would pass on these gloves so the melees could have them, but after I put in my efforts on many Yelinak raids I will voice my desire to have them too (we don't roll on Uber loot in my guild, it's awarded).
RE: These are meant for Melee, so get over it
# Sep 04 2001 at 4:36 AM Rating: Decent

I'd like to point out the fact that there is no charisma on these.

Kael (have to be Giant aligned to get these gloves) quested gloves for int casters all have 10 int on them, hps, mana and resists. This WOULD be an upgrade for most int casters, just not by a lot.

Now clerics, that's a different story -

True, the int/wis/mana make this very attractive to hybrids, but the remaining stats seem to scream melee of any type.

RE: These are meant for Melee, so get over it
# May 20 2001 at 6:24 PM Rating: Default
at the level you get this item a caster should not need any int or wis items , so that leaves +75 mana and some resists , get over it, this is a hybrid/warrior item.
RE: These are meant for Melee, so get over it
# Jul 04 2001 at 7:11 AM Rating: Default
mybe i have 200wis but would realy like to be able to change my crapy wis ring for a good res ring? i mean at ths level warrior shouldn't need AC they have 1200+, how do you like that argument?
#Anonymous, Posted: May 26 2001 at 6:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Saying that an item should go to only a certain class is such ********* TMO has casters who have belt of Dwarfslaying. TMO has casters who have Dain's hammer. Why would they give to a caster? Because it has Uber stats for a caster too. And no, it's not only mana and resists. The AC, HP, Mana, Int, and Wis are GREAT for casters.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 19 2001 at 9:41 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) lol
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 07 2001 at 8:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Monks have better. Warrior Kael gloves are almost identical besides the resists. The haste is irrelevant, any melee killing yelinak already has dragon haste or better. If i was in charge of the drops this would a rogue/ranger/bard item, as they would get the best use out of it.
RE: Class rolls
# Apr 15 2001 at 12:36 PM Rating: Default
Well, If you/guild is high enough to take out Yelinak, there is a good chance your high enough to take out the Dain. My goal would be to have a)a set of these Gauntlets of Dragon Slaying...b)Belt of Dwarf Slaying, the song on the belt gives haste also right? And even tho two permanent hastes don't stack, spell haste stacks on song haste which stacks on permanent haste with stacks on processed haste, all of these stack together but none of them will stack on a haste of the same type, hence if the belt gives haste, get both you now have (effectively) two permanent hastes in effect and you can get rid of that cloak of flames and get one with nicer stats (even though that CoF is pretty @#$% nice)...
RE: Class rolls
# May 06 2001 at 10:01 PM Rating: Decent
soong haste and spell haste do NOT stack. Unless that song is Melody/Composition of Ervaj, those are the only 2 songs where the haste effect stacks with spell (or other song) haste. You can have a haste song on you at the same time as a haste spell, but you will only be getting the haste from one of them, just stats/ac/ds/whatever from the other. Item haste will stack with either, but not with another item, so if you get this, you might as well trade the cof, they're worth a lot, but are not so good if you have this.

RE: Class rolls
# Apr 09 2001 at 2:20 AM Rating: Decent
I assume this has pretty good haste on it tho, so even tho a hybrid uses the wussy(int wis) stats on it these would still be the best gloves in the game for a warrior, and with all the pretty new belts and cloaks, having haste on your hands would be primo
RE: Class rolls
# Apr 10 2001 at 10:02 PM Rating: Default
IMO, Warriors/monks/rogues/bards waste the WIS,INT and mana stats. Pal, RNG & Sk will be best classes to equip it up. Clr, shm & drood also not bad. :)

Well, anyways, here is my question if anyone THAT HAS THIS ITEM AND KNOW FOR SURE (other answers, dont bother) can tell me: Is the haste stackable with any other items such as FBSS and Hangmans Noose?
