The SS is old. Royal Velium was changed sometime back. Bards can now wear them.

Yes, they can.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 31 2000 at 9:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) except for the ac, these are kinda useless to a tank such as a warrior. the stamina (at lvl 18 anyway) would give my warrior around 6-8 hp. the agi (theoretically) helps activate skills like dodge, parry, etc. out of the rest of this armor, the arms kinda lack any good traits...besides the ac of course.

Stats ain't nuttin'! Yous can always buy pertty ring or sumtin ta make yous stats highers. AC is GOD for warrior! :bonks him again: Now yous also forget, warriors not only class dat use des. Me know many SK's, pali's and clerics dat woulds kill ta gets a chance ta get des. Mebbe cause yous lil' lvl 18 yous not see da importance of AC. SO me try ta explain, AC means da chance of yous gettins hit and da amount yous gettin hits for. Da higher yous AC, da less yous gets hit so da less dmg yous take. Da lower yous ac da more yous gets hit and da more dmg yous take. Me know dis difficult, but try to follows. Warriors, we be tanks. We gets in da front and bash. We not meant ta do immense amounts of dmg, we meant ta take a big beating. Yous wants ta do lotsa dmg, yous be wizerd. Yous wants ta be da one dat da clerics hate and da true casters love, yous be warrior. Now on top of todays lesson yous just need ta remember, AC is GOD!

Wow, immense? thats a big word for an ogre /grin

On a sidenote, at high lvl, ac is usually seen as king, saves are god ;) up until you start facing AoE mobs and the like, ac beats out the saves. Theoretically, you should be at a high lvl by the time you can aquire these, however. The AC on these is great but in some situations, the lack of resistances would kind of hurt, however in my experiance, there arent alot of good arm pieces that have good saves. The only fairly common (still a rare drop but not off of a uber mob in ToV or anything) arm piece i can think of with superior saves is darkscale and you would loose 4ac by switching...You be the judge, or hell, get both, can't go wrong there ;)

HAHA, these aren't meant for level 18's they are meant for level 50+.

AC is GOD for warriors. This stuff isn't god loot so it's stats are fairly decent.

I'm going to ask you a dumb question now...what are you wearing on your level 18 warriors arms? Or what would a non-twinked wear?

A twinked warrior will wear crafted which is 12ac. This is 50% better. Normally you stick with crafted until level 46-50 when you MIGHT start getting planes gear unless you are an uber twink and can get cobalt which really isn't likely.

I know I have a level 56, 48, 26, 24, 20 (plus others under 20) and the best that lowbie 20 warrior will get for a long time is crafted.

I don't think even at level 20 vs your level 18 my warrior would even once consider turning down royal velium vambraces hehe. I don't think he would turn them down at 50 either..as a matter of fact I will be quite excited to get them at 50.

My warrior was in full crafted until about level 30, when I upgraded to Acrylia Plate and Mithril and a couple of Crusty pieces for the stats, then I upgraded to Champion armor from Kael on a few pieces, now I am working on faction to get SS armor for her.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 23 2001 at 7:58 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Guess what buddy, my lvl15 warrior is droping his crafted for this, yes im twinked. Ive got the boots, arms, and the gaunts so far. They might not mbe meant for it, but, these guys are actually not hunting for exp all that much, most people i see on my server there are 60s wanting faction :) so they got there plane gear and epics. and me gets da left obers!!!!

BTW yes, I know these are no drop and not twink items...that doesn't affect my argument. They are still good arms.

Well consider at 50 and up the multiplied stamina. Most warriors have some gear anyways that has stamina on it (gets tacked on with str). So figure those 8pts per lvl x 50 = 400 thats not to bad for free hps.

it doesn't work that way. My ogre warrior at level 48 would get roughly around 20hp+ for the 3STA on this item.

at level 60 1 point of stamina is 6 HPs
