personally i dont worry about the JBB.. i am a 47 IKS battle SHM (not very many on Tunare Server) i can say that not having the JBB is no big hit on me. yes, i do like it (would be telling a lie if i didnt) i look at the JBB as a caster type weapon. you just sit back while your pet does all the damage and you use the JBB. i will say that if youve never tried meleeing things around levels 40+ it is quite fun. just have your mind and hp buff (KEI and VRT if level allows) and go to town. hopefully you have a primary weapon with procing abilities. i guess it all depends on how you want to play your shaman. i will say however if you are a caster type..dont be afraid to get in on the action..
This bracer is junk for the effort you have to put in.
You need a rare drop in an area that is very hard if not impossible to solo at the level this bracer is useful
You then need to farm or buy crushed opals
You then need to have kindly faction in Thurgadin (not that big of a deal, but still a requirement)
Then you receive a no drop bracer that can't be sold after the disappointment wears off.
Honestly, there are better bracers out there that drop with a lot less effort and have much better stats. All this talk of how good the AC is - well it's not that great actually, and it has no HP bonus either. It has a strength bonus which is damned near irrelevant to a shaman in his 50's as most will have Strength maxed when buffed, and even if they don't; +2?
The ultravision effect may be nice, but as you have to GROUP to get this, who uses ultravsion over Acumen? Prior to getting Acumen, the fun factor of being able to clicky Ultravision rather than mem the spell does not hide how crap this bracer is for the effort.
Go get a coldain military wristguard, or a bracelet of the spiritcharmer, or save the cash you'd use to buy the crushed opals and find at least a semi decent bracer in seconds rather than days.
Same goes for the gauntlets too, which are actually even worse.
People keep saying this is perma Ultravision, probably because of the info at the top. This isn't true. I just got mine about 20 minutes ago, and it is a right click effect (went around giving it to people in Thurg around the bank.) Just to hopefully clear that up..
Are you a shaman? Charisma has nothing to do with any spell we cast, cept for charm animal and it's so low a spell it's stuck in the back of my book somewhere. And you may be chasing 900 ac...I am chasing 1000 :)
And as a shaman, I go for ac above wisdom...Mana as a shaman is all about regeneration, not your mana pool IMHO
Well if you are soloing a mob that quads for 280 as a shammy... your nuts... Im not a chicken but I know that at 43 I cant take getting quad hit for 115s and I have 658 AC. So, IMHO I would get these bad boys and never take them off.. frankly the AC rocks and the wis is nice... oh and have you ever been a Barbarian? try running throuh any zone in the rain at night with no UV... perma UV rocks =) Akiles Tendon 43rd Barbarian Shaman of the Tribunal
Some time when i read roster like this I ask myself this question .
U are all running after Wis and AC, and wanting 900 AC and 200 Wis at Lvl 50 . But a good shaman is not this kind of one U need to balance all u stat exept perhaps Dex and Int. If U resisted on Tugur on a mob that triple for 280 , it's not u 10 more AC point that will save u. But 10 more CHA point would have allowed u not been resist.
I consider myself not well balance Lvl55 850AC 199Wis but only 120Cha in fight (i'd like 150 Cha)
That's just an exemple about Bracer (Rune Etched) and u can not believe me but just Medite about what i said
Pretty sure char affects our resists. Why would they give us a char buff and have 5 of our starting points going to char? I doubt the char buff they gave us was so we could buff enchanters. I would think that our buffs would be designed with soloing in mind as well. I also have noticed that when I put my char buff up I get resisted less. I saw a post by an orge shaman(ugly shamans they are) that said gullerback in bw could not be slowwed. I've had no problems slowing him from lvl 51 with my char buff up. I might be resisted if I don't but usually not if i do.
Other than improving our Charms (a whole 2 of them that can charm up to a level 35 or so mob... yippee) all CHA does is give us a SLIGHT chance of taking less aggro. Seems mobs don't wanna beat on the pretty boys. But truth is, once we overaggro the tanks, we usually did it with a DoT and this little change is worthless.
Hehehe - Charisma has nothing to do with how much you get resisted on any spell except for a Charm or a Mez. In the case of Shaman that's 2 spells out of about 130. Not worth the effort getting Charisma up if you ask me. This is also why certain Shaman items have neg Cha on them - cause it just doesn't matter that much. When looking for items here is the order I would rank things:
1. AC 2. AC 3. Useful Effect - clickable DD, or perma-regen 4. Wis
Wis is easy enough to max out - it's the AC and Effects that make the difference between LFG in Karnor's and Soloing Dragons in Western Wastes.
Hehe...well the bracer is nice because of the AC. I was always in need of the wisdom but as you get higher and gain you epic and other items you are going to want to replace that excess wisdom with AC. This is nice because it does have the wisdom...as well as the 15 mana which isnt much but I dont know of many high ac bracers that have both wisdom and additional mana. I will be getting mine tonight, which will go good with my JBB. For those of you that say this bracer is bad...it will help you to have the 200wis and 1000+ac when you get to the higher levels. If you have the means get the bracer.

Im a 51st shaman on Rallos Zek. I plan on getting these real soon. The stats are decent, but my god I am so sick of having to CONSTANTLY rebuff Ultravision on my barb, that I now must have these. No Drop baby, its where its at on Rallos.
Sadly for all the Iksar out there... you need to remember your disadvantage.JB is only for the strong hearty shaman. Sadly they will prolly never rerelease an armor piece with an attack spell because it is incredibly powerful. As such, no click for iksar. sorry guys
Gurthor Pestilencebringer 51st Emissary of Cazic Thule Tribunal
Probably not...what i am wishing for which i will never get is a Kunark Armor for Iksar shaman besides sebelite scale and scaled mystic there arent any good iksar shaman armor sets that you can get without needing a high lvl raid
List me one other bracer with that good of AC, that has even 1 point of wisdom? Not a single one. Shamans need good AC too, especially with those mobs pounding on you from your dots. I'd rather sacrifice 2 wisdom for this AC, and be happy with my mana less ultravision.
