ok jarlaxe u are incorrect somewhat and u to sakoraz all classes have good and bad sides and people always say ogres/trols amke the best warriors thats not entirly correct they say that because their base sta is higher so more hp but in high end eq every classes sta will be maxed so it doesnt really matter and sakoraz u have a more to contest about hehe because iksars do have the extra regen but cant use most armor and now kael/thurg/ss armor isnt all to great compared to other stuff like VT

Whenever I see an Iksar warrior in a high end guild then MAYBE Ill fear them but unfortunately it doesnt matter what race you are its all about the gear

all you people that say one race is better then the other are dumb... sure ogre wars have wicked high str and sta and are unstunable from the front but they are big and ugly ... trolls have regen and high str and sta but again big dumb and ugly not to mention evil ... all races / classes have there pluses and negetives... the nastyest war iveever known was a half elf lol .. btw my retired war was dwarf ~ extra magic , good and can see at night ... just my choice not saying its the best.. btw all races with regen level slow as hell.. i dont think the race or class makes the char if you play a gnome war as long as you know yer class and how to play it you still better then a ogre who doesnt..

Well heck I wish I knew about that 12 months ago Sharok. Ive been wearing armor that I could wear for that long. OOOOPS. As for Iksar warriors suking. I have a 60th warrior on Zeb server, I currently have 4355 HPs 1329 AC, 20 standing regen. If I suk then all those other warriors that ive whooped in duels must really suk.

Iksar can wear this, the pic is outdated.

As for Iksar's usefullness, just keep telling everyone that. Makes for a nice surprise to the groups I'm in.

Okay, all these posts are very out-dated.

Just to sum it up, Iksar are now THE best warriors.

Iksar can wear all velious quest armor (Kael, SS, Thurg). Because of the natural AC bonus, Iksar benefit even more from the massive AC pieces from these quests.

Not to mention Regen and Night Vision.

Who cares about faction? In the high-end game, pretty much everyone raids PoG for loot, thus they end up kos around Norrath, but it doesn't matter... There's no need for cities other than velious and such at the high end game.

At level 54, my AC is currently 1095 UNBUFFED. I have mostly hate armor, with a few misc pieces. THIS IS WITH ABSOLUTELY NO VELIOUS QUEST ARMOR. Now if that isn't potential for UBER AC, I don't know what is! :D

While you may have decent AC, tell me how many hitpoints you have unbuffed? Now, compare that with a Ogre who also has nice AC not to mention very good str and sta. Also, unstunable from the front!

Jarlaxe, you bring up a very good point. I play a human warrior, and i cringe everytime i see my low hitpoints.

Well, I have been playing the same Human Warrior almost exclusively for over 2 years and love him. If you cringe when you see your hit points in comparison to others then you need to start playing the character and not a set of numbers. Believe me, it is a LOT more fun that way.

Personally I believe it is a lot more fun to play the character, whatever class/race combo it is, and let the numbers fall where they may.

Though i haven't been playing him as long as you all have, I've got a gnome warrior, level 36, and he seems to be doing all right, with around 1460 HP (with crusty armor, no buffs) and around 765ish AC. It seems to me that race skills like the iksar regen and added AC, or the fact that ogres can't be stunned from the front, etc. are more important than having higher stats unbuffed.
Yes, you can...

I play a lvl 51 Iksar warrior, and after spending many hours working on my coldain faction, it is slightly disapointing to discover that I can't wear the armor that the Thurgadin quests enable you to get. And yes, I know that berserker's armor drops in PoG, but it isn't often that I can get into an PoG raid, and it will never be something my guild can do as a whole, considering the bad faction hit. Kael raids are much easier to come by, and drop the armor needed for the quest. Now I would understand this a little better if I couldn't use any of the velious quest armor at all, but I can still wear the Kael/skyshrine quest armor..which confuses me, why make some of the quest armor iksar usable and some not? This just means that I have to switch factions completely, while my entire guild is on coldain faction, making it a very difficult transition. It's kind of hard to find an open invite Icewell raid on my server. I guess its time to beg to be invited to a PoG raid...
I hope this didn't sound like a bunch of whining, just my perspective..I did know Iksar couldn't wear plate when I made my character, but I'm just confused as to why half of the quest armor is plate and half isn't...And I still don't quite understand the whole plate concept..Royal frosted velium has a plate graphic, yet iksar can wear. Maybe someone can inform me as to why it is like that...oh well, I'll stop rambling now :)

You need to raid Temple of Veeshan for the armor drops for the Kael and SS armor. You can fix your faction rather easily once you have the Armor and gems, just kill all the green coldain Tracking wolves for Kael armor or kill lots of Storm giants in Kael for SS armor

I play a human warrior, raided hate 16 times, led 4 of the raids, and I have 2 pieces of indo to show for it.

If I was Iksar, I'd have 2 full sets easy.

Also, back on subject, This bracer is the most common corroded drop in Kael. Corroded is the most uncommon drop, expect all your caster friends to get full sets before you get one piece. The gems you need to quest these are less common than the flawless diamonds, and everybody needs them, even druids for their boots I think.

Thanks Verant for your petty ways. See you in PoG.
Not that bad

I've found in the arena area your going to see more silk leather and chain the plate, BUT Iceshard keep in Kael will drop ONLY plate. So if your having trouble and all your caster guildies are decked out, tell them to suck it up and do one for the tanks and clerics =) It's a nice quick raid as well if you've got your act together.

He's a link to a nice guide for it.

just one fast thing an iksar natural "scale" ac is modified by defense rating. i dont remember exactly what is the starting ac but i have more now than befor that im sertain. And this armor is plate which we canot use because of the aformetioned scales.

now then about the armor its nice but ill never see it on one of my char as i hate the way that the ho so powerfull plate looks on all those 4 apendaged races. especialy the stupid helms can they look anymore hidius

Kael vs thurg
# Feb 09 2001 at 5:12 AM Rating: Default
I have not seen any of the stats for the Kael armor or the Skyshrine armor. People keep saying the armor is about the same but i know the Kael armor is a heck of a lot harder to get. You would think it would therefor have better ac/stats or what would be the point of going through all that work. Has anyone seen the kael or skyshrine armor yet? does it have the same textures?
RE: Kael vs thurg
# Jun 25 2001 at 3:40 PM Rating: Decent
Kael BP is 59AC SS is 54 and Thurg is 49, and SS faction isn't that hard, just need to kill Storm Giants, not frost. Storm giants are more common in Kael and beyond while frost are all over EW and GD

so far from what i have read online the kael armour seems to have 2 ac more (at least from what allakhazam's has posted) and none of the SS armours have been posted yet, but since they seem to be the hardest to obtain (yelnak faction is a ******) i would assume they would be slightly better than both kael and thurg's armours. BTW notice how similar the Champion's armours are to the PoG droped Berserker's armours.

Well i dont understand anything of the previous post about Iksar havind bad ac and such things.
Im lvl 52 and have 905 AC base unbuffed with nothing else than regular items. Already loose a roll on berserker helm (with a 953 DOH!) who is AC 29 so 17 More ac than my trooper helmet. If i won ill be now like 930 ac who is better than the most most non iksar war i have seen at my lvl. Really i dont understand what u all talking about sorry. Iksar Rules ,that is my believe, especially with berserker armor they are now the best tank of this game( more than 1000 AC at lvl 46 if u can get it ), if u not happy with urs, play a soft skin and come duel me.

Someone want to talk about the item, which the forum here is meant for? Where does the corroded plate drop? Kael? The Gems drop in the other dungeons and under Icewell Keep, off random mobs. This is what I have heard so far. I would imagine the gems are droppable and sellable...and that the corrodded is no drop. But...would anyone care to actually clarify these facts rather than argue over warrior stats?

After reading all the posts on here from the last few days, I like what I see to some extent. Hello all! Although I see in a prior post that somebody claiming to be me claims to have started this entire subject, I am the one who brought up the initial comment about iksars not being able to use this bracer.
I'm very impressed by the understanding that most people have for the situation. Here are a couple of feedback comments I have for the prior posters:
1)There is no such thing as an iksar/troll...they are two different races.
2)Yes, and someone answered it for me, if you're going to charge me with whining...then ask me to change RACES not CLASSES...iksars are a race not a class.
3)When I brought up my initial comments I was not whining but merely stating a fact...iksars are deprived of much of the decent stat-buffing armor.
4)Though you may not believe me, I was not aware of the iksars natural ac when I started my character. I was aware of the regen and the kos.
5)The natural ac does not do much for me and was only really a help up to around lvl 12, the regen also doesn't do much for me since I'm now level 45. The kos however still makes me kos. Before you call me a whiner however, I'm aware I would be kos and I'm fine with that. I did think the regen would improve as my level improved and after I found out iksars had natural ac that maybe it would increase as I leveled. Sadly, wrong on both counts.
6)Someone else made this comment earlier and it holds true for me also. The only place I'm not kos are Cabilis, Thurgadin(the new city in Velious) and Kelethin. I slaughtered a few hundred orcs to attain the standing of DUBIOUS, which only allows me to move around the city, nobody will sell or buy from me, and I'm still kos to the banker(btw, that banker is an sob...).
7)Although I admit I was aware that I'd be kos, I don't think I fully appreciated the problem of being a kos iksar warrior....unlike iksar shamans, necros, we can't bind anywhere but cities...I admit that monks have the same problem but not to the same degree. I watched my buddy simply sneak into a city, get a bind and sneak out again. As for SK, I do agree that they must be one of the most difficult race/class combos around, I have a friend who has fought with me forever and he seems to never close the gap in levels with me, but instead it gets farther and farther apart.
8)Choose wisely: I do not recommend an iksar to anyone as a first character. I would say to pick a well liked race/class combo and enjoy the world of Norrath. I have 8 chars presently on 7th Hammer Server. My warrior, although he's the highest in level, is quickly beginning to bore me. Mostly because of the reasons I've stated above. I have acquired some of the Ry'Gorr Armor from the orcs in Velious recently and it is a welcome addition to my ensemble. However, I've mostly been twinking out my woodelf/bard. I've found the bard class to be a most fun adventure and woodelves for the most part don't have a terribly difficult time getting around. Hope something I said was either interesting, provocative, irritating or supportive.
Best of luck to all of you, no matter what your race/class comination is. And remember, everyone has some problem or other, not just you...so be kind.

#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 29 2000 at 10:06 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Having been a warrior since beta (even though I did ***** up and put 4 points into wis on my human warrior after beta was over) I can understand how taluross feels. Back before we even had crafted AC was very important to us. I know full well how 20 AC can make or break you in certain situations. Iksars do have quite a problem in that area not being able to use the plate armor we have come to use as warriors in our higher levels. There is a big difference in how a warrior works when they cant get the AC they need. Having played 5 warriors in various classes it seems to me a shame that iksar suffer so much just for regen and a small AC boost that does not ammount to the AC lost. BTW though, I think maybe PoG armor is usable by iksar, could be wrong not gonna check, someone else confirm or deny plz thx.

All this is great about Iksars but how about a little info for the less informed, where does the corroded armor drop and off of what mob? any info would be appreciated
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 23 2000 at 7:41 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I play a level 46 iksar warrior, and I would like to comment on this whole issue. While it is true that iksars have a natural AC bonus and regen, we still miss out on the STATS that the high level armour gives. Iksars are not AC challenged, we are STAT challenged, because ALL of the high level warrior armour is plate. If there were other pieces of armour with those stats (not talking about the AC), then I would not complain, but since there isnt, then it is unfair. I love the challenge of playing an iksar, but there is a big difference between a challenge, and a completely unfair situation. How are we (iksars) supposed to increase our stats and resists if there is no non plate armour for us to wear? We cant. And that is why it is unfair. As for the PoG armour being iksar wearable, I have an issue with that as well. I had to spend 2 days straight in crushbone killing orcs to get to amiable with the kelethin and felwithe guards. I dont feel like ruining that by killing stuff in the PoG. To all of you that say we iksars simply whine, and that we should shut our mouths, you people really need to think before you open you speak. It is clearly unfair. There is simply no way around it. Having said all that, I do not intend to stop playing my warrior. I'll overlook the fact that there are no iksar attainable armour pieces with self buffs (except for PoG)and next to zero pieces of armour we can wear that have a great combo of stats, AC, and resists. Did I mention that we also level slower than any other warrior race? So there you go. Rant away and call me a cry baby, which Im sure you will. Im simply throwing my two cents into the pile.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 24 2000 at 7:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I too enjoy playing my Iksar, they are a great class to play. And out of the two regen races, they dont scratch their *** every 15 seconds :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 23 2000 at 8:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) For my two cents...I play a 51 Iksar Reaver (Shadow Knight) and I agree whole heartedly with my fellow Iksars comments.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 23 2000 at 9:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) To the two Iksar players who posted above. You are whining. You knew going in that playing an iksar would result in limitations on down the road in armor items and yet you choose to play it anyway? You say your just stating facts? Well, those facts have not changed since level 1 have they? You made an adult choice, no need to complain about it now. Suck it up and make the best out of it you can.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 24 2000 at 5:41 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Limitations, yes....unavailabity, never even concieved that it would happen.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 23 2000 at 10:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok, I will respond. I am the iksar warrior that started this thread, and I would like to comment on what you have put down here. Actually, I would like to ask you a question. Lets pretend that verant introduced a new expansion pack, chock full of incredible items. And they were useable by ALL races, except yours. Not so bad you say, right? Surely they included equal armour that my race can wear. Sorry maxwelle, you're wrong again. So there is everyone running around in their brand spankin new armour with amazing stats. And there you are, in your armour that you've been wearing since level 30. Thats not the position you're in? Oh wait, thats right. It's the position IM in. Armour limitations are fine. I can deal with that. But this goes beyond armour limitation. This is the complete LACK of armour. That, my friend, is not called limitation. It is called UNF*CKING FAIR. As for your little statement that my fellow iksar and I were whining, why dont you read our posts again. Not once did we "whine". For someone who has proclaimed himself as smart, you are surprisingly dense.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 24 2000 at 7:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I myself have played a Human Warrior and am now playing an Iksar Warrior for quite a few reasons. First of all, they look damn cool. That counts for me; sure it doesnt keep you from dying but looks are important to me, just as they are for everyone in real life. Second, Verant is trying to help all the Iksars by making the new armor quests (the warrior ones are a bit difficult but result in some nice armor, near or better then crafted in some respects). But it does suck that the lizzy SK's and Warriors and Shamans cannot wear the regular quest armor nor can they wear the PoA or PoH armors either. the best they have is either various pieces of chain and leather based armor, or smithed Enchanted Cabilis scale...and eventually PoG armor. Verant tried, at least admit that, they did try (in their classic lazy-***, half-assed way) to give iksars armor to look forward to.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 24 2000 at 9:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well stated jookar - now, as a halfling warrior, i can understand SOME (not all...) of the limitations placed on you by VI not puting in good enough armor for you. personally, i'd be damn pissed off. i think you have a RIGHT to be angry with VI for not putting in nice stat adjustment armor for iksar. their quest armors aren't really mid level, the adjustments on them are not as good as the other races mid lvl armor, and to put it mildy, verant has a decided LACK of new and intersting armor textures for iksar. you either get banded, leather, or the jasarth look...
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 25 2000 at 2:21 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, i play a lvl 51 iksar warrior.. hated it for a while till this explansion.. i now am getting the royal velium armor from the guards in icewell keep. Very nice armor indeed. And next on my list is the Beserker armor from the plane of growth. So now i must say being iksar and a warrior isn't half bad at all. I'd like to be fully decked out in beserker armor and maybe some of the blood runed armor from velious for warriors, and then see how well i stack up against another warrior of another race. It may, just maybe true that now iksar warriors with their natural ac boost are higher then the other races in ac.::shrug::? Just a though, i won't know for a very long time if thats the case, till then though the royal velium armor isn't half bad, the bp itself is 32 ac +7 str and some other stats. So yes again velious has helped even me out.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 23 2000 at 7:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If it was a recent change that didn't allow iksar to wear high AC plate armor, then all this whining and moaning would be well justified, BUT, it was known even before kunark came out that, iksar wouldn't be wearing plate, you knew before you ever had the option to MAKE an iksar, that you wouldn't be wearing plate.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 24 2000 at 5:50 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Once again....the AC for me is important...and yes I knew I would not be able to wear the Plate type armor. But, did I ever know that there would not be comparable Iksar only or armor which gave the same stat's as what these plate and planes type armor offered??? No! How could I have....I started my Iksar on day 1 of Kunark, before any of the goodies that Kunark brought to the game had been found. Have I just sat around whining and moaning about, NO....have I continued on to attain (and continue to move on) higher levels....YES!
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 25 2000 at 11:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Check out the new armor from the plane of growth, beserker armor which is warrior only and iksars can wear. Also there is armor which i myself have been currently getting, and thats the royal velium armor that also iksars can wear. The beserker armor will put iksars up there with other warriors of other races. So it can be said that iksar warriors will definatly be able to stack up against other warriors when wearing the beserker armor. In fact with iksar's natural ac which isn't much, they may even have more ac then a warrior of another race wearing that great armor. Thats just my two cp.
Silly...

Iksars can wear the plane of growth dropped version of this.
This armor is for those of us who wish to keep our faction with tunare. I sure like visiting my home town of kelethin and felwithe. Killing in POG makes me kos. So for those who are already kos why not just go to the plane of growth?
Please read a little before you start bashing verant. I think they're doing a good job. People learn from their mistakes in the past. obviously verant has learned from their mistakes and applied newer ideas to velious. cudos to verant.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 23 2000 at 7:45 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Once again, because of the supposed inability for iksars to wear any kind of armor that won't let their skin breathe, they get ripped off. This bracer seems to be a very nice piece of merchandise which I would have actually gone for, but since I wouldn't be able to wear I obviously won't be doing so. If anyone has any suggestions on good armor for an iksar warrior to wear, I'll be happy to hear what else I should shoot for. Right now I've got a lot of the new ry'gorr armor that drops off the orcs in velious.
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 23 2000 at 11:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I must agree we Iksars loose out on alot of armor because of our regen. We are deserving of better, since nothing we can wear even comes close to the stats on these and usually most of the best armor.

Actually, while I don't play an Iksar warrior, I can understand the frustration, when they get to a certain level.

On this particular piece, however, is there a PoG drop that basically corresponds? If so, there's the answer right there - my understanding is that the drops from PoG and those available from these quests are basically the same, and that our scaley friends are able to equip the PoG drops.

#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 23 2000 at 2:33 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) As a 39 Iksar Warrior I can understand the whining. Its hard to find decent armor, and NO WE WILL NOT PLAY ANOTHER RACE, WE LIKE BEING IKSAR, IT'S CHALLENGING, which is something some of you K3WL D00d Necros and Druids (this is only for the K3WL D00ds and not normal necros and druids) are afraid of.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 04 2001 at 12:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Sorry to let you know, but it's not like Iksars suddenly fell into a pit alone. All small warrior races, or small melee types have been suffering the challenge a lot longer than you. High Strenght adding items only usable by the incredibly stop is simply a joke. You like the challenge, continue you playing.
