Triggered?
# Aug 15 2003 at 2:21 AM Rating: Decent
Is the effect indeed triggered? Can I cast it on others? Or is it permanent, self-only when worn?

If it is triggered, what is the cast-time?
RE: Triggered?
# Mar 24 2004 at 10:50 PM Rating: Decent
You can cast it on others.
RE: Triggered?
# Dec 05 2003 at 1:52 AM Rating: Decent
There's an eight second casting time on the gloves.

I am a lvl 46 Druid follower of Tunare. When I went to Tunarean Earthmelder, I got no response though Earthmelder conned amiable to me. Is ally required to do this quest?

oops, was surfing on my buddy's comp and forgot to log him out of his account. ignore the fact that it appears to be advice from a warrior, it was supposed to be me. :)

anyway, the info provided there is correct, good luck to you Niolen.

Niolen,

you need to be 55 to do the quest. the Earthmelder asks for the assistance of a preserver or outrider if you inquire about the giants. click the link in the top right corner about the quest to get specific instructions. best of luck to you, these gloves have served me well.

I can almost guarantee you that with Planes of Power the halflings (and humans) will get their gear. Plane of Storms will be entirely Karana's domain, so you can bet that the awesome quested items there are gonna be Karana Only. Until then, there are other nice items you can get to hold you over =)

Paid 5k for mine on Ayonae Ro...the guild didn't need vindi's head after killing him..they didnt want to accept the money so i paid in blue diamonds :>

At 54, every single group I am in has me on Damage Shields. I always have one memmed in groups. Having an extra spell slot open (which is, in effect, what these gloves allow) makes these useful. Also, the spell, Shield of Thorns, is an improvement on the higher level spell (the one I always have memmed) Legacy of Spike, seeing as how while Legacy of Spike is a group spell, Shield of Thorns does more damage.

These would also be useful for when a n00b begs for a Damage Shield. No need to sit and mem it, just right-click.

Aside from that even! These gloves have some of the best wis I've seen on druid gloves....

Maybe we'll be the ones envying you when Planes of Power comes out, and yer getting a staff that casts the level 49 AOE Lightning Spell (how Karan-ic...nm)...no, that's not fact...just an example...

when Planes of Power comes out, and everybody (hopefully?) has their own God's plane giving them quest (heck, there's even a Prison-like Plane of Justice for all the barbarians that chose the Tribunal..can you imagine the quests that'll have?...go collect the heads of ___,___,___,___,___,___,___ ...I think the Tribunal has to do with 7 ...aren't they the ones that are actually *made* of the plane, and when one dies, another grows in his place....whatever, anyway)

Soon (or later), there may be no more complaining of choosing your diety!...and a lot of ppl making Alts of same class/different religion -=P

(BTW, nice gloves...but being only 46, maybe it's just me...but who doesn't always have a DS memmed? Does it get replaced when we get the bunch of DD/AOE/PB/Whatever spells at 49? Either way, can't wait! Almost there!)

Edit: My mistake, the 7 I was thinking of is the "Rathe Council" on the Plane of Earth...7 or 9 or 12 (can't remember the #) Treant-like diety types all in a circle or something...one gets killed, the Plane grows another in it's place, if I remember correctly

group thorns is a nice concept but many times these days only 1 MA tank seems to require them to hold agro till mob is lower in life so others can join in and by that time the Ma has and should keep agro.

More diety specific quests would be very cool when PoP comes out - but it would just **** off all the enchanters that chose agnostic. Maybe there can be an Agnostic plane for those that worship no god: The Plane of Atheism.

Man talk about flaming druids, here this fourm was put up to talk about the item not flame druid or any other class for that matter.
anyways Rangers are a bit harder to play then Druids we can't take hits in combate all the well and our mana supply is it'y bitty compared to a druid of the same lvl.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 05 2002 at 7:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yes!!! you speak the truth =) i've been playing my druid more than my ranger lately, and it's so much better in the low levels, but as i've seen, after 30 it all changes with rangers :). Hey sotako i haven't seen you lately, are you still playin?

Well I finally completed my Gloves of Earthcrafting. I actually like them better than the treeweave (skyshrine quest) gaunts simply for the better magic resist.

Noobs love the "yes" reply for a DS, I no longer have to search for level 49 damage shield and switch out a spell, I simply cast from my gloves, cast time is a bit slow though, about 4 seconds longer than casting the actual spell if I had it memorized.

Hey its mana-free and that is nice!

Anyone know the casting time on the proc?
Missing the point.
# Jun 20 2001 at 12:11 AM Rating: Decent
I think the fact that everyone is missing here is the reason(at least the reason I think) that the restriction was put on these and other items. Verent wanted to add a little spice to ones choice of religion. I think that is a great idea, I could not agree more. So many people go agnostic just because there is no benefit from picking a relegion, only penelties(such as bad faction). The only problem here(at least in my oppinion again) is that they compleatly missed the boat. They may have meant to enhance religion but it seems to me they just put more restrictions in place. /shrug

Sure would have been nice to throw Tunarean bards a bone. You'd think I'd be used to bards getting the shaft by now. ;) But hey! We got a really cool mace during the Halloween event. Maybe we're loved afterall... or not.

Hmm... I see nothing wrong with them being Tuanre only.. 1) Quest is in plane of growth and 2) Have you ever noticed how much better the stats of a halfling are to a wood elf druid ?
Thats all I have to say, 55 Druid of Tunare
#Anonymous, Posted: May 28 2001 at 7:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Man, I REALLY hope there is some cool rogue quest. If thay already have somehting for Pallies and Enchanters, why not Scouts of Tunare??
#Anonymous, Posted: May 24 2001 at 4:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If VI wanted they could add quests for Karana worshippers in PoG since Tunare and Karana are allies, both being gods of nature. I chose a wood elf oh so long ago and now i see some really nice gloves for us druids and they rock! Don't despair little halflings, maybe you guys will get something equal or better!
For those Karana worshippers...
# May 07 2001 at 9:05 PM Rating: Decent
Why be so pissed about these being Tunare only? They are a quest item in PoG which is where you find who? Tunare! Go figure! I'm sure when they make a Plane or Rain or whatever and Karana is there you will be able to quest for some equally neat stuff.

By the way, just think about all those evil races that are kos to their own gods. Sucks worse to be them, not that most care.
Derakor
# Apr 26 2001 at 2:22 PM Rating: Default
Derakor the Vindicator is by no means "easy" I watch him kill about 30-40 level 55+ people the other day. They finally killed him after the 4th attempt. These gloves might be ok but killing Derakor makes this almost unatainable. BtW the BP of Vindication is a very nice item that Derakor drops +45 ac among other things....
How easy?
# Apr 16 2001 at 9:54 PM Rating: Default
People say that druids are easy to play, but then again, whats difficult? Warriors just need to hit those action buttons to attack, clerics are falling asleep most of the time in groups as there role is so dull (but nessicary).
Wisards hit there nuke and root buttons over and over.

Granted the enchanter has to use her brain in situations. Druids can do so much and have so many options that its not as easy. Must be pure class envy as druids can to a little of most things.

But why moan about good equipment for druids? In the end it benifits the whole group.

RE: How easy?
# Jul 06 2001 at 12:22 AM Rating: Default
pssst, there a bit more to playing a warrior than hitting a few buttons. Granted we are one of the easier classes to play(tried a chanter, head almost exploded deleted the character). Warriors are the first to fall and the first to take the blame when the casters fall.
First in, last out save the clerics and casters!!!
RE: How easy?
# May 22 2001 at 4:30 PM Rating: Default
Triena, wait til you get past lvl 49, get your last AE DD spell that hits for 477dmg magic based, and you level lap ALL of your friends like I did playing an equal amount of time. I made it from 53 to 56 just outside of one month. Very few classes can do the same, in fact I'd venture to say that almost none can, at least not in the amount of time it took me (couple hours a day for 5 weeks). There is NO druid on ANY server that could not do the same, so there is really no way that they can whine. I've played a warrior, monk, cleric, and enchanter, and they all have it much harder than druids. The only way we suffer is for lack of cash, and that's only if we choose to solo outside rather than fight in dungeons in groups.

Wait until you're 60 and you've got pure melee friends who are 60, lol. Monks and Warriors can make exp at almost the same rate you do with less risk, assuming that they have the right AA abilities. If you think I'm exaggerating, just watch a level 60, critical Mending, Bind-Wounding-to-100%-health, *** whooping Monk go to town on high 40's mobs. They can do this in dungeons for an additional exp modifier, allowing their exp gain rate to nearly equal that of a druid quadding in an outdoor zone.

All they need is a healing BP of some sort, or possibly one of the few items that can be used to summon bandages. Although, I don't mind the fact that they kick so much ***, since I frequently wind up grouping with them. ;)

Tunare Only
# Mar 17 2001 at 7:04 AM Rating: Default
After reading both sides of this argument, with all the whineing and race envy, I must say I dont agree with the idea that its on Tunare's plane so it should be Tunare only. My main char worships Caz and there are no quests for CT only equip on Fear or Innie only on Hate. If they are gonna make this kind of religion based questing they should not just favor one god. Whineing wont help but with VI nothing might. More of these quests (balanced to include other dieties) might add some real depth to char generation. Too bad for everyone really, regardless of god (Tunareites excluded).
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 10 2001 at 11:37 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) stuff youse, I see a whole thread presuming if somebody can't wear something it has to be a Halfling, incidentally a race with pretty good baseline stats tho ugly and low on the appeal, you jokers forget EQ has 1/2 elf druids who can worship K too and us as a clique get it tough in the drewidd biz. What is all this Tuna crap without a simultaneous K parrallelism - somebody gimme a sammich! - you Plebs sobbing about the Trees and all standing around in our grass gawking at them trees!!!!
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 06 2001 at 7:14 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This quest is so easy for the reward its rediculous. I've seen every giant needed; the ones that roam WL can be done with any average group - that's 3 heads. The one in Kael is up in the Arena area, and you can get there and clean the area with 1 group. the hardest part is the pull, because he comes and goes with his 3 pals, so you can't chain-stagger the pull - the tactic is to keep them running in circles, FD, run, FD, etc and TRY to pick off one while wiping hate somehow. Once you get him alone, then its a standard boss-mob fight needing your best tanks. If you dont have them in your guild, no matter - there are always Kael raids where SOME group decides to take him on.

Vindicator was killed a few times right when Velious was released(there was a bug that was exploited).I have not read anywhere on any website that he has been killed since, and a lot of uber guilds have tried.

You don't need to charm or do any other exploits. You just get a raid size force together and just go kick his butt. Clear the area near the icewall and pull him there and kill him while you crowd control the other two guards using a high level tank in defensive with a personal cleric or two. Vindi is not that tough. We have taken out the Statue of Rallos Zek twice now with minimal losses using the same tactics. Everyone on Statue while two groups crowd control his armor buddies. Now the Avatar of War .... well he's a bit tougher =p
