Beyond nostalgia, it was disappointing to get one of these. It's a shame that this is so crap in today's EQ in 2008. I wish they revamped these at least a bit, like making the focus effect meet the level of the players who kill these mobs. The stats are sad as it is already, you get better item at lvl 20 with a simple quest in TSS expansion.

I guess its saving throw is that it's not level restricted, so it works as a twink item. But that also means those who bother to camp these are people who'd rather spend time twinking lowbies than doing simple quests to get better items in later expansions.

Overall, not worth the effort now. I know this is hardly the only item of its kind, but nonetheless I felt a deep sense of sadness today as I happen to loot one of these.

To the person saying it is summoned haste. get yerself a pair and look. You need to research before you open your mouth and flame someone. I have these and it is extended range. If u don't believe me get on the seventh hammer and Send a tell, i will be glad to make you feel dumb for trying to flame him!

Perhaps everyone should relax, as if you look at the screenshot currently up here, it USED to have Summoning Haste III, but has been changed to now apparently have Extended Range II. So you are all right, chill already

Many, if not all, items had there effects changed in a second patch. At first my Cougar Claw earrings had Extened Range 3, now they have Mana Pres 1. So, he could be right and the effect was changed. Now good for my Cougar Claw earrings but good for the boots, it would be more effective then the summoning haste for who would wear the boots.
Disappointing look

I got this item for my Rangerette. I thought it would go well with her Mithril suit (Until I land my hands on Mithril boots). Was disappointed to see it brownish in color with green stripping at the top. Good stats though. Guess I'll hold on to it until I somehow acquire the Mithril boots.
