great weapon indeed for level 20, when dmaga ecap of 31 max til 20 is removed, this weapon is a great self powerleveler sort, most most dont have much hp in the oldworld/kunark era, and with this you can gain levels up to 50 real fast using hotzones, nad mobs you fight wont stand a chance, if you have this and lets say a 27% haste item, hasted with speed of shissar or swift like the wind its actually not that slow, and for grouping its good for holding aggro, or if your just dps, big hits create good aggro if tank, and if your an sk, this is awesome tank weapon til 50 to mid 50's maybe even 60, and that high delay gives it a enormous damage bonus too. Great in the area if you like to farm, just collect a ton of mobs your farming use a riposte disc, or just fight off the group killing 1 by 1, and your ripostes will kill half the mobsitself.
Just bought one of these in bazaar and went to try it out. With 115 str and 42 skill in piercing, i hit for a max of 117 dmg. Real nice dmg output with this thing.
I was in Lower Guk, heading to a group at bedroom. Being a rallos zek warrior I was kos to the frog at ent. Begin swinging away with my Tantor's Tusk, had a HoS and about 30% hp (Berserker Frenzy) hit his *** for 535 damage Crippling Blow at level 38, my dex is maybe 180 and str 175 with HoS..get this weapon~

This means it would do a 60dmg 40 delay, thats friggen better then the windblade. I am also high at piercing. Just think bout it. This would be about the same as 1/7 faster than the argent protecter (beleive thats the ubah one) and 1/3 more damage. PLUS, i would be doing more damage in my primary. I am defenetly gonna set myself on a mission to kick this bullys butt. I would recomend this to any tank in there secondary slot, or if pali or shadow, primary.
No he said it was for his 51 warrior. You might want to turn the default filter to never filter, to see the post he replied to before flaming him. Just makes you look like the fool, not him.
The post he was replying to had so much bad info in it, its almost scary.
How the guy got to thinking that this is faster than argent protector is completely baffling to me.
I have killed Tantor now the 5th time without letting some1 else kill him/or a spawn... Just wondering allkhazam says Tusk is common oh well, didnt get a tusk yet, only once a Velium Mastodon Fur.... Also was wondering what spawn time he has, im thinking about 24 hours ? or 12 hours ? not sure, I only know its 24 hours or less since I have been killing him the last 5 days, no prob 64 bard can easily kill, just takes 30 min thats all, but its kinda disapointing that the tusk didnt drop yet... my lvl 20 oger war twink would love it for some nice crits hehe....
Ok noobs, let's get one thing straight. Dmg bonus doesn't add to the damage of the weapon. That would be f-ing ridiculous. Dmg bonus is added to whatever dmg you do after you hit so if had a dmg bonus of 20 and you just hit for 10, you would now do 30.
With my 54 Beastlord on Tarew Marr last yesterday, I accompanied another Guild, The Dogs Of War, into the Western Wastes to do a turn in and kill some named Giant. Well the turn in was not up, but Tantor was, so we killed the Hairy bugger, and sure enough, he dropped the tusks. Being the only non-guild member, I was surprised when they announced an open roll for it. Well, in a random 1-1000, I came up with a WHOPPING 33! Surely I had lost, but it turns out, that the lowest wins. I was STUNNED. I admit the pic is quite ugly, especially with my Dwarf Warrior holding it, but I think this will be a nice Upgrade from my Heavy Velium War Lance. (32/39 with a DMG bonus depending on level FYI) Now I cannot wait to go back into the Dreadlands and show those Yetis what pain really is.
This thing is awesome swap out weapon for a ranger really trying to keep down on agro, or avoid a killer DS. Doubles for 200+ a hit are not uncommon for me, and record is a whopping 480 (roughly) single round....215 hit + 265 hit....=)

Soloing Tae Ew Crusaders and their friends out in front of Cazic Thule, the most common hit or riposte for my unbuffed level 40 Ogre SK is 117. A great many hits and double hits are in the 150 to 170 range.
A double hit for 160 160, followed by another for 160 160, and you've put over 600 hp of damage on the lizard in just a few seconds.
I've heard some people complain that a 6 second delay is just too slow. But the ratio is so strong that even without haste buffs the mobs still die very fast: rarely more than 30 seconds to put a Crusader or Spiritualist on the ground.
In a group, with buffs for strength, dex and haste, this will deal out more damage.
The tusk is currently selling in the bazaar on Vazaelle for 8 to 10 k. It was a little higher than that, maybe 12 k or so, a couple weeks ago. But people were whining that it was a wimpy weapon and too slow, so someone sold it to my SK for 3 k.
My advice? Get you one of these. Go to the bazaar, ask in /ooc for people's opinions of it. Most of them will say it's a piece of junk, worthless because it's too slow. With a little luck, that will drop the price and you can pick up a bargain.

Averaging 111 damage with my 31 Shadowknight, and have hit for 183. It's not worth using at all before 30, however... damage cap too low.
After 30 it's really lethal, though, and after damage caps are all lifted it'll be hitting for hardcore damage. I've dropped Stonegrabbers in Marus in as little as about 10 seconds.
For those saying Iceflame is better, I have used both of them: there are very few (droppable) weapons as damaging as Tantor's Tusk.
The only unfavorable aspect of this weapon is it's butt-ugly graphic.
Rogues would never be able to use this thing. They do enough damage allready. Besides this thing is to slow for ya rogues. And don't even start about saying that this is a monk item, /bonk.
my rogue friend would like to point out, and this is assuming this were actually rog useable, which it aint, you wouldnt use this for normal melee. What you WOULD use it for, is to swap in when your backstab ability refreshes. =) Like he said, too bad it's not rogue useable. =/

This is a great weapon for a 51+ pally on PvP's im currently useing SC hand wraps and my lvl49 self only buff (both item and buff are 25%=50% haste) greatly increases speed and give the pally that extra boost of damage that they cant normally output, hope to get one of these soon, Shemfade Vortigem 52paladin Tallonzek
Damage bonus does not add to the listed Dam on a wep.Having a Dam bonus of 20 would not make this a 70 dam weapon it just gaurantees that oyu will never hit below 21 points of damage with it.
For those of you that want to test this(And before you flame me and look like an idiot please do)
Put a weapon in your main hand. Then in oyur offhand equip a wep that uses a different skill. For instance I use a Bash weapon in main hand and a slash weapon in off hand.
Now when I hit with my bash wep the lowest I hit for is 9 points. That is a damage bonus of 8 added on to the 1 point of damage I did with the weapon.I never hit below this...
I will often however slash for one point of damage because the bonus is not applied to the off hand..
Damage bonus adds that number of damage to your mainhand damage on every hit.Again before you flame me try it.You will see it is very simple to test. You will never hit below your listed damage bonus(+1point) in your main hand but will often hit for 1 point in your off ..just use different skills so you see
crush for 30 crush for 26 slash for 47 slash for 1 (!)lol
I am an angry gnome I have this and am only hitting for 60 at lvl 23.. I am just wondering and verifying that there is a damage cap at 30 'cause my friends keep arguing about it...any help would be cool

Im sorry, but I was ******** around with Magello when I stumbled on this thread. I was looking for the best AC item for every slot, and it seems that you have exactly that. Not too beleivable. Try again.
Im thinking thats fake, he has the best item for every slot, and i think the puldron is guide/gm only, he has maxed out AA. its just to good to be on one toon not to mention on a PvP server.
"mabey it because he IS a guide . :P Being a guide dosent mean he cannot alter his equipment when he isnt guiding ..."
Yes, actually it does. The rules are strict. Guides wear armor provided by Verant, and they are not allowed to buy anything from normal merchants or loot any corpses except as required to resolve problems (e.g. they might loot a corpse which was not rotting due to a bug, or some other such contrivance). This is to prevent the situation where guides would contend with "real players" for loot and a host of other balance and fairness problems.
If this guy has that stuff, he's claiming to be a normal player, and as noted, that's not a very likely set of gear even for a normal player.
