Ok, I know everyone on this site is bashing this item, but how many times have you been camping an epic mob, or farming some place like S Ro and lose just a lil life when you solo Sand Giants. Havent you ever been like "Man if I could just heal up real quick I could take that other Sand Giant out." I have, and I know that it has to be better than my method of sitting and waiting for Mend to pop back up :). All of the Silver Moon item effects are great when you are alone and just nedd a lil extra boost. Stop thinking about the best possible item, and realize the benefits of the items you have. I know that in an almost complete set of PoG armor ( I need arms and this) that its nice to be able to cast spells, even if they are small. If it had a CH effect, who would need a cleric? IMO this is a nice item, with a nice effect.
Not that I would refuse this item, its not bad at all. But you say "rather than sit there waiting for mend to pop back up" ..... Two words. Bind wound. I BW myself to 75%. Mend takes me to 100%. Monks and BW are made for each other. Just make sure you have band aids!!!
Ok, I got this item today. It seems to me that this is a total random drop in the zone. After reading the other posts and knowing what mine dropped off of. I got it off of a treant..not a named i think it was a reverant treant. However everytime we killed one of the named treants(the huge ones) they dropped a chest piece for class specific, 3 kills of named 3 chest pieces. So they drop it everytime by the looks and i think all others are random in zone. However, we raided the zone for 10 hours and a 2 monk chest's 1 bard 1 warrior were all that dropped. And the monk ones where the last to drop and they did so at the same time..:P Anyway the stats on this thing rock str, sta, dex, agi, resists, hp, it has it all. The effect is super nice, it only heals 90hps but still VERY handy, can you say goodby to bandages? The only bad thing about the effect is that it takes 15seconds to cast, so you have to stay still for a few to heal. but you can heal 360hps in 1 minute, thats not bad, specially if you are soloing and healing between fights) Well, thats my experience with this item.
Rizar EdgeFist 53rd monk of Raider`s Haven Torvonilous server
Yea i heard about that raid from a guild member. Im glad things went so well. I joined a raid on pog the next day and nothing for monks dropped. My name is not Zahadoom in eq either if you were wondering. I think there is some one by that name on torv server but its not me. Zerix 54 monk at the time of this post if your wondering.

. . . dropped off of named Treant (Treah). We had approximately 27 people that helped cut the treant down, am told that Treah can be done with 20 people. We also took down the another named treant prior to Treah, who dropped a wizard robe. So out of my one experience in PoG, it looks like the named treants are dropping the chest pieces.
You can gain hp with this MUCH faster than you can with a fungi tunic, but only out of battle. This is truely an excelent item, if only to be used for healing. You can always wear your rotwf or a fungi tunic during a fight. This has great ac as far as monk armor goes, people here are forgeting monks get their ac from the monk/iksar ac bonus, not their armor. At 51 mine is always within 20points of a warriors, I have no peices of significantly high ac.
Invigorate does heal you! 100hp I belive. The casting time takes about 5 seconds though but it's worth getting 100hp every 5 seconds then 20hp per tick siting down from a Fungi!
Actually the casting time on this beauty is 12 seconds. Therefore its 100hp every 12seconds = 50hp a "tick" = about 3x as many hp per tick as a fungi tunic. But yes, Fungi is nice to have in a bag for feigning, though I would wear this in a fight for the stats.
... except with a Fungi, you heal at about 17 a tick even if you have to FD -- which you can't do with this. This sort of item does however explain why the price of Fungi Scale Tunics is dropping quite fast.

#Anonymous,
Posted:Apr 04 2001 at 8:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Heh, found out something...ac is not king for monks...switched out a nice chunk of ac stuff to improve str(max damage and atk), agi(ac and defensive skills), and dex(offensive skills and procing) my ac went down about 40 and atk went up 40. I then proceeded to solo the same things i was with the higher ac. Not only did the battles end quicker, but i also had less down time because i took ALOT less damage. Was using the same weapons each time (2 trance sticks). Also when i was in a group, the battles were going quicker and i was outdamaging the 45 monk (im level 40) because he had had more ac stuff and less stat items (he had a Knuckle Duster and a Cane of the Tranquil). Monks are a class that benefits the most out of having higher stats, plain and simple. So as for losing some ac compared to the fungi tunic, so what? the stat increase is where it matters for monks. So kudos for Verant getting some better stat items out there for monks, even though they cant figure out a new look for monks (yay! get to have stuff that looks like cured silk....again)
Bah, you where outdamaging the other monk because you where using a wu's and he was using a cane of tranquil. You'd out dmaged him even more if you had taken the 2nd wu's out of you're hand and used you fist for the higher dmg in the offhand. If you had let him borrow the wu's for his primary, he would have eaten you alive dmg wise. A low Primary hand delay is what you want for max damage, especially if you have a high dmg in you're off hand.
It becomes debateable when you get a 1 point higher dmg / 1 point slower dly weapon that can go in you're primary. But as a general rule always go lowest delay possible in primary.
I am definetly interested in getting some off this armor, so I would liek to see some usefull info posted, rahter than all this whining.
Is the silvermoon armro random drop off specific mobs, or random mobs? Where is the best place to find this stuff? At what lvl can I go a set? or at least a piece? and how many should be in our group do go fetch some? I have been wearing Crescent Gi since lvl 30, and would definetly like the upgrade, I am an Idol short of my RotLC, if Raster ever decides to pop, I will wear that until I can get ahodl of this or better, I would prefer this over fungi tunic anyday. Although I wouldn't mind a fungi either, still beats Crescent hands down.
Please any info you can provide, for those interested in getting this.
P.S. Many of you think that this armor is worthles or noncomparable to the fungi, please do us all a favor, and if you see this item drop, don't just roll to bank it, stay out of the roll if you know your not gonna use it, I would hate to loose a roll on this, and find out, your never going to wear the item, just bank it or destroy it, because you already have better. It's ok to have a preference, but please...let others have it, if you know you don't want it. I have seen this kinda thing before, and it irritates me to no end.
Hehe, I'm a shadowknight, just stumbled in here by accident. Hello all monks =) The class specific armors in PoG all drop of specific mobs, most often one type of mob drops armor for two classes (sk and cleric armor drops of the same mob I believe). I don't remember which mob drops the monk armor though but that really doesn't matter since you have to clear the other mobs too up there to make any progress. The plane is divided in two parts separated by a river. On the west side of the river drops the smaller pieces of armor, bracers, boots and such. This side needs to be cleared before crossing over to the east side. The named ones are mostly on the east side and they seem to have the best chance of dropping chest and leg pieces. Some of the named ones summon a specific type of mobs which explains why the west side needs to be cleared before attempting them. Another thing, the drop rates in this plane is nothing like the ones in for example Hate. In Hate every third mob drops something (on the first floor, not the second) but in PoG the drop rate is awful. In one night only 2 sk pieces dropped.
Look, This is definitely better than a freakin fungi tunic. I got one of these a couple of weeks ago ...same ol' look. However, the Ac and stats are incredible compared to any other monk CP. These usually drop near the waterfall as with all class BP's and leggings. Mine dropped off a Entolling harvestor i believe
Hey there. This armor looks okay to me. I think that there are decent though not exceptional types of armor for monks thru the levels, but I do have a comment about monks, weapon and armor. Anyone who watched Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon or (even better) who knows a little history, you would KNOW that fighting monks did NOT just use their hand or wear no armor. They aren't all like Cane out of that Kung Fu show. Monks probably used MORE weapons than any other fighting type in any time period, and Slightly less armor. Often monks specialized in one weapon, which is something I would like to see Verant grasp as an idea... But... all of you who play classes with tons of armor types etc... and tons of weapons, tell me the game would be fun with no loot. You know you freekin dream of the next cool loot you get, and it should be the same for monks.
invigorate does not heal, it recharges your Stamina (your yellow bar) (= awesome effect to help your hits hit more, and save on the spell casts in underwater zones (=
Dropped on Brell Serilis tonight off of named treant in nw corner of zone, we took in 6 groups plus a scout party and dropped Flayl after all its summoned mobs were dead. The bp dropped and was won by Eise Shadowdancer a Disciple of the 51st order and member of Elysian. Should cut down on the amt of bandages :)
You can have yer Fungi, i will stick with my PSC and hope to attain 1 of these for down times. And with the new graphics the female toons have gotten some added...ummmm....enhancements? So will be looking forward to the bikini/tat look :)
Monks had items that had great ac and stats... Fungi Scaled Tunic. 21ac and Fungal Regrowth, making this an item to argue over how good it is. It seems verant always puts in the great items for monks in non-planar areas. This is still a great monk item, but there were great monk items before this is all I'm saying.
Well, when you compare this to the Shiver, you're gonna be disappointed.
Shiver = 11ac, 13str, 9dex, 9agi
so, you gain 5ac, 0str, -5dex, -5agi, and the HPs and resists.
Yes, it *is* an upgrade, but so marginally so that it's deplorable. Thank goodness for the RotLC and RotWF quests or monks would never hava a decent chest piece.
Um.... *looks at rotlc* *looks at shivermoon chest wraps* I'd have to say that +1ac, +8str, -1dex, +8 sta, -1 agi, +10 hp, and +15 in resists, _and_ Invigorate, blows the RoTLC out of the water. I'll still probably try to get a new RoTLC if/when I trade mine in in the Celestial Fists quest, but that's because I want to have a pretty full set of monk quested items; I'd wear this in a heartbeat.
Of course, you could also get a Fungus Tunic, gain more AC (the main melee stat that matters), plus the obscene regen, and have a better tunic than this, or the RotLC, or the RotWF.
I can promise you that if I get this tunic, it'll end up banked. I'm faster healing with Fungus Tunic + Bandages than this deplorable waste of bank space.
-----Derra Drunkenfist 58th Master, Quellious Server --Shadows of the Unseen--
True, but I personally don't see me getting a fungi tunic in the near future, unless it gets nerfed in which case it still won't be standard wear. *shrug*
HRMPH! You think a stupid fungus coat is better? As an iksar monk with 12 hp regen I don't really care about regenerating myself, I can bandage up to 75% and the rest is a matter of minutes. So you heal REALLY REALLY fast, Big deal, at your level any fool knows that with a good cleric down time is not even an issue. Give me 13 str and awsome AC on a new set of armor anyday. Compared to this the RotLC BLOWS. The Rotwf still kicks butt, but this piece of armor will not see the shelf of MY bank often. Do yourself a favor and speak for yourself, its obvious alot of you don't know the value of this piece of armor and your pretty much caught up on what's good in YOUR eyes, and not how good this piece of armor is overall.

How about RoWf for fashion and the begining of a fight, this silver moon chest strap when your fighting, and fungi tunic after for regening. Now thats tight! hopefully someday i will be able to accomplish this ~lol!
Heck yah!, even tho plane of growth is way harder than the other planes and you basically go even killing there, still very good stuff. I hope they have a mirror of some of this good stuff in plane of mischief or at least have it drop of bad mobs in growth.
I sure hope I don't do superevil trying to get this stuff one day, would be such a shame since I worked so hard elsewhere.

#Anonymous,

#REDACTED,

Monks got ripped on their class specific non-planar and planar armors. Looks like Verant is finally giving us what we deserve. Crescent was lame pure and simple.

Posted:Mar 26 2001 at 12:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Okay people I think we've all come to the consensus that monk armor SUCKS. However, I have one thing to say...SHUT UP ALREADY. We've heard it before, and we don't need more whining babies complaining. Not like it's that important anyway, monks are damage factories, not tanks. If you are depending that much on AC then you obviously need to yell at your tanks a bit more.
