Added a couple of pictures using old models (male human, male dark elf).

Also, the two female dark elf pictures (Varalla) above should be removed, since the robe was dyed when those screenshots were taken. The true color of the robe when using new models is correctly reflected in the picture of the high elf wizard (Xplosive) shown above.

Does this still drop now that they've revamped VP?

Im wondering the same thing. Can anyone confirm the robe still drops?

They should add FTIII or so to this robe to make people go to these zones more. Its existing stats are worthy of that effect. maybe give it around 35 AC too.
RE: ...
# Sep 23 2003 at 3:31 AM Rating: Decent
Why on earth should they add motre AC on it?

Do you melee often or what?
RE: ...
# Nov 16 2003 at 8:43 PM Rating: Default
Take a look, "Class: ALL"... this could be a nice hybrid robe *shrugs* In that case I DO hope they melee often...
RE: ...
# Sep 12 2003 at 6:42 AM Rating: Decent
But then it wouldn't have its current stats, would it?
devil's advocate
# May 22 2003 at 11:06 PM Rating: Decent
okokok, I agree with everything, and I fantasize about this happening. Imagine a monk with mana, (has robe for fun maybe, wears it because it looks nice was awarded or rolled or whatever but may offer to caster because a full suit of black panther hide things look way better on the monk...anyway)
Imagine a monk with mana, Imagine a situation just before the end of a battle, Monk and warrior are tired, warrior at 21 health and not budging, cleric low, can't even heal, Mage and wizard-bickering over damage yes-but low on mana and not budging, enchanter out of mana. Bodies everywhere, wizard does not have enough to port and everyone is lost and three more beasts are seen heading in their direction. These beasts are known to NOT be caster types.
Enchanter knows if he just had a smidgen of mana he could mezz them. Anything for free mana...Free mana? who would give up mana and not care? then, in a flash of brilliance and just steps before the three monsters are upon them-certain death if they came any closer? Enchanter draws the mana from.....THE MONK! The whole 100, or charms one and starts battle so some exp can be gained during med time.
I said this was a fantasy remember? (ponders the free mana aspect, like a cleverly executed card play) But seriously? maybe enchanter over wiz/mag, but depends on what that person said about raids and awarding and such, I have been on raids as guest and they were alot of fun, and I never expected anything, but always found that some items were offered afterwards, and although not the top items, nice none-the-less, or some share of plat.
RE: devil's advocate
# Jun 15 2003 at 6:09 PM Rating: Default
Fantasy is right...I wish my charm only cost 100 mana =)
Rather...
# Apr 28 2003 at 9:40 AM Rating: Default
I'd rather keep my Robe of Inspiration over this. Much easier to get (since you can get in and out of PoF easier and don't need to sink time in to clearing thru VP to get to Phara Dar) and has FT1 on it.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 10 2003 at 10:14 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) there is no way that is a monk with this robe in that pic.. its crap!! there is no way u gotta have super imposed the brother part in or sumtin who in their rite mind would give this robe to a monk.
Stats modification
# Jan 20 2003 at 9:23 AM Rating: Default
There has been a mofification on the starts of this robe :
WIS +20 has been added.
Why ? I just do not understand because it's a INT caster item.

Where does it say it is an INT caster item. Looks like it says Classes: ALL to me.

Personally, I'd say the addition of Wis adds wis casters, particularly druids, to the list of people who would want.

Situationally, I could even see a cleric or shaman wearing this, for the saves, over a higher ac chest with less saves.

Only ones I can't see wanting this are melee classes, particularly plate melee classes, who should all have 50+ac chest items, at a minimum, by the time they fight here.
INT CASTER ALL THE WAY
# Aug 28 2002 at 11:34 AM Rating: Default
Caster item all the way, the
ac is crap for melee.. being that they have new armor that gives much more ac... int caster all the way.. nuff said.. ppffttt greedy melee's
Caster item?
# Jun 18 2002 at 12:00 PM Rating: Default
Yes its a caster item. it has extra mana which is only useful to casters so give it to them. But i do have to say to every caster that thinks they need light weight items as much as a monk...RUBBISH. Perhaps if casters lost their highest 2 levels of casting ability the moment they went over 18 weight, they would understand how it is for monks.

I really, really hope you were joking, kid...
RE: Caster item?
# Aug 12 2002 at 6:19 AM Rating: Decent
No im not joking, Monks are a melee class and as such need ac. Monks lose an ac bonus when they go over a certain weight based on level. this is 15 at level 1 and goes up to the dizzy heights of 18 for level 51+. I agree that its part of roleplaying a monk to have an existance where you dont value material possessions and thus should not have any trouble keeping within a limit. I also dont think that a low weight item is automatically a monk item, hence my sugesting that the robe is a caster item. its just that when a caster complains that they dont have enough strength to carry all their gear (as is said in some of these posts) they are not really seeing the plight of the monks weight limit. I have 40 points worth of strenght increasing items but im still struggling to keep the weight down.

Now if i have made a mistake in what i have said please feel free to correct me, but dont just put "I really, really hope you were joking, kid..." that wont help me to understand the game.

Caster, Monk, Rogue, Priest, who gives a crap? This would be great for all of them. The resists and stats would make this worthwhile for any class to use. It's a shame it isn't more common.
int casters.
# Jun 12 2002 at 3:55 AM Rating: Default
This is a great INT robe. give it to necros, shadowknights, wizzys and etc.. not a monky robe.

18ac, what SK in their right mind would want an 18ac chest item.
Necro
# Jun 05 2002 at 9:34 AM Rating: Default
This makes a great necro robe with the extra 85 hp you can take up a few more ticks of lich, the mana amount is nice.

hp = good for mages these days too y'know :) self rodding all the way~
Best use?
# May 27 2002 at 2:37 PM Rating: Default
I think the best use of this is to give to melee's who have illusion items like rogues and bards :)

Bards especially could make use of the INT, but would also be fun for an SK when he's not tanking :)

Basically tho, I think it should go to a class that cant normally wear robes, it's a nice resist gear item for most people at the very least, and fun to wear a robe when your class normally cant.

You'd give a 20int 100mana robe to someone for "fun"? lol Glad you're not my guild leader.

I could understand if the stats weren't good on the robe, but that's a none too shabby robe... of course people are gonna quote me with better robes, I'm not saying it's the best... but not everyone has the best.

I'm still stuck with my Vermillion Robe of Torrefaction. Ugh.

I am SO tierd of monks! On the forums of every god damed robe in the game that has other stats than int and mana monks cries and yawns that this is a monk robe! Casters NEEDS all the stats on this robe!! Int, hp mana, ac and resist! Every single thing! And all casters want lighter gear! Monks only use ac, hp and resists! THIS IS A CASTER ROBE! U HEAR ME? CASTER! if i lost this robe to a monk id quit the game! Monks: Stick to your Wu and spider armour and let uss casters get the robes!

Your point that it is a INT-casters robe is right but your synopsis of monk equipment is off since Spider fur and wu are relatively low-level gear. However, I will agree that this is nothing if not a INT-casters boon. Any monk who chooses this item is just not with the whole group/raid mentality, yes they have extra resistances that are nice, weight is good, but face it, there is really nice monk stuff that casters wouldn't be able to wear. Let the INT-casters have it, they need it.

Monk robe! /nod

Oh and btw, here's what it looks like on a MONK in dark-elf form (old-school guise of the deceiver): http://www.stasisprexus.com/ss/010702_h.jpg

Notice the title 'Brother' before the character's name, making him a MONK.

Grats Monks!

best suited for?
# Nov 10 2001 at 8:50 AM Rating: Default
well if my mage was of level to get it i'd obviously want it for him but as a player going to a raid that doesn't have an investment towards which person that gets this i would definitely want an enchanter to get it. Choosing a second person to get this would be wizzy then mage then necro, but of the classes i see YOU WILL NOT EVADE ME ENCHANTER all the time. Not saying that I would disallow another intelligence caster from getting a roll though if was the raid leader.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 08 2002 at 11:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What are you talking about? The thing is a little outdated now... lol. Especially considering the 60 AC, 20 int, 15 all resists flowing Thought 1 robe they got in game. You honestly think that an additional 8 AC is going to save the enchanters' life? Not. I get 8 because most robes typically don't have more than 10 ac.

Monk's Opinion

What a bunch of whiners! You want to hear the opinion of a monk? It ain't a monk item! If it dropped from the sky into my lap, I would probably wear it, but there is no way I would ever get awarded this item on a raid. The only people I see on this page that are saying this is a monk item are a couple of guys who are making a joke about gnomish monks and one guy (THAT'S ONE GUY)who is probably a newbie (by my standards at least). And even that guy states his opinion in a nice way, unlike the people who respond to him. Do you honestly think that you have something to fear from monks with regards to this item? You DON'T! Get over yourselves!

Now if it had all those stats AND 40% haste, I might argue it was something a monk should have a shot at. As it is, it is OBVIOUSLY an int-caster item. Which int-caster is it best suited for? i have no idea. I am not an expert on int-caster equipment.

Caster Robe!!!
# Aug 27 2001 at 7:22 PM Rating: Default
Ok, this is totally an int caster robe... With +20 INT, if i am not mistaken, it is the highest INT robe avalable in the world of Norrath, plus, with +85 HP, maybe we enchanters wont die quite as fast as we usually do when Mez breaks, giving the cleric a chance to heal us. Ok so casters don't usually worry about HP.. but we should, i mean seriously, with aggroing, the rate at which we die is embarrassing. With INT and HP... to me, this robe is my caster's dream. Any monk that rolls on it is depriving an int caster from like THE ONLY robe that offers that much HP and INT! Hehe ok im only lvl 26 right now... but i can dream right?
RE: Caster Robe!!!
# Oct 11 2001 at 6:46 PM Rating: Default
ROFL, 'won't die as fast if mez breaks' LOL! yes you will--85 hp is less than one more hit, ROFLFLMAO
RE: Caster Robe!!!
# Oct 12 2001 at 1:58 AM Rating: Decent
But it might be enough hps to keep the chanter alive! Every single hp may count and 85 extra hp are very nice.

My infamous post:

Along time ago, in a galaxy far far away...
Enchanter/Monk Wars...

Enchanter: This goes to enchanters. We hit pounded by monsters and no one even looks at us. We get only get 12 AC from our items!

Monk: THIS IS MONK ITEM. YOU ARE INTRUDING ON MONK TERRITORY. I CLAIM THIS ITEM FOR MONKS. ITS MONKS ONLY NOW STAY AWAY. WE NEVER GET ANYTHING!!! OUR MAIN USE IS TO FLING OURSELVES INTO A MOB AND HAVE OUR PARTY MEMBERS ENJOY THE SIGHT OF US BEING USED AS A TOOTHPICK! BTW, MONKS SHOULD ALSO HAVE THE WARLORD BP, VALORIUM, TOLAN DARKWOOD, RAGEBRINGERS, FIERY DEFENDERS, and JAGGED SWORDS OF WAR. MONKS SHOULD ALSO RULE NORRATH.

Enchanter: I get battered everyday! I must have this! We could actually survive! You monks have AC Bonuses! Here, have this leather armor. See, all good! Now dont complain about your AC. Its better than most warrior's AC.

Monk: THIS SUCKS! LEATHER? I WANT CHAIN! PLATE! ADAMANTIUM, MITHRIL! I MUST HAVE EVERY RARE DROP THAT DROPS IN THIS GAME! EVERYTHING SHOULD BE MONK ONLY! IF YOU LET ME HAVE THIS, TOGETHER WE COULD RULE THE GALAXY AS FATHER AND SON!

Enchanter: ***** you.
Monk: Bite me.
Enchanter: Ill duel you on Tallon.
Monk: First Ill own you! THEN THE WORLD! MUHAHAHHA.

Enchanter: You monks should be herded into a corner and throughly annihialated by use of...The Skeletal Warlord!!!

Monk: NO!!! NOT THE MOB THAT DROPS TRANQUIL STAVES! YOU EVIL CRACK DEALER!!!!

Enchanter: THEN YOU SHOULD BE FORCED TO WEAR 20.0 WEIGHT EQUIPMENT!!!

Monk: No! Forget about Tallon! Ill kill you now!!!

Enchanter: How? We are talking in a message board.

Monk: SEE, NO ONE APPRECIATES US. THEY THINK WE CANT DO ANYTHING EXCEPT PLAY DEAD. I WILL HARASS VERANT UNTIL THEY GIVE US MONKS PSIONIC POWERS SO I CAN SMACK YOU DOWN! THEN I WILL HARASS THEM UNTIL THEY GIVE US AK47 RIFLES!!!

Enchanter: Splintered clubs arent good for ya, eh? Stay put where you are and let us Enchanters get the Uzis. We should have better melee.

Monk: Fook you!
Enchanter: How dare you talk to me that way, you ignorant filth! Isnt it past your bedtime.

Monk: OMG! Your right! It is! Mommy....!
Enchanter: Now I can rule Norrath by harassing Verant. Muhahhah.
Enchanter: Eh? Whats that?
Shadowknight: You know too much. Now you must die.
Enchanter: What?! Huh?

The Shadowknight reverse kites him into a shardwurm where he is horribly digested.

In conclusion, if the item says ALL/ALL, it means everybody. BTW, SK RULE!!!
