Shadowbone Spear  

 

I gave one of these to a newbie shammy friend of mine as a welcome to Norrath gift. I am not against twinking nor do i advocate it. When i first started out, a 56 shammy was the one that got me into EQ...he gave me a minotaur axe to get me started. It was definitely better than anything I would have been able to get myself but at the same time, it wasn't so uber that it kept me going till lvl 40. I'm thankful for that since it didn't make me neglect my other weap skills, i still felt the accomplishment and pride of upgrading my own ******** and I still never had to deal with a rusty short sword for my first few levels which i think is too frustrating to think about.

This weap is good for newbs cuz it's better than anything they can get at 1-8 or so, not so good that they'll lean on it till 30, the mods make it sellable when they are through with it, and they won't be spoiled after either.
