Got one two nights ago from a guy getting rid of all his items for ridiculously cheap prices. sold this to me for 20pp. when i did a price check i got about 20 replies with everything from 2k to 5k. can't decide whether to keep it or sell it, but if this effects my lifetaps, i think that helps the decision.
Just put one of these on my Wizzy. Picked it up for 2700p in the bazaar on Innoruuk. My Wizzy is only lvl 16 but has Extended range/spell haste/mana presarvation/improved Dmg, all II's so hes good till lvl 49 spells for nuking! Personally I think the II's are the best buy in the focus effects. Anything higher and You pay a fortune for it and the I's don't last long cause getting to lvl 30 goes so quick. Adding all these effects together makes a big difference to a Wizzy I think. Looking forward to dishing out Dmg with this guy.
Wacked 2 at 1 time was soloin 1 and other jumped me lol was fun killin 2 at the samew time lol at 61 i resisted all but 1 spell but it on no coat no sapells just junk >
I was looking for s new set of shoulders and saw this for my ranger. Ok ac, NICE resists and I saw that ID2 could help me a lot. Next week I saw it being auctioned for 8k! Don't know if i wanna let go of it hehe.
More specifically, weapon procs for spells that occur on your character's spell list. My rogue uses a Wakizashi of the Frozen Skies, and had a Mammoth Hide Cloak (ID I) equipped. No effect, despite the fact that the Spirit Strike spell is sub-Lv20.
That is incorrect. The reason ID does not affect your procs is your class. Pure melees (warriors, monks and rogues) gain no benefit from any spell focus.

well... all the focus effect things are for better twinking, isn't it clear? except for the level 3 effects which are for saving allllll your cash up for the good ones
Nope - an SK would do rather well with this sucker for his lifetaps, since it not only increases the amount of damage that the lifetaps will do, but the amount of healing that they will do as well.

Resent changes to resists plus the addition of focus effect makes this item more valuable than it was in the past. 10k is not unreasonable. Maybe you don't value the 10+ Magic Resist? I can tell you as a monk that there is nothing worse than being slowed! I try to keep my MR as high as I can and this has one of the highest MR on a tradable item.
HOW can you compare this to a froggy crown?! Two different slots! Two different zones! Two very very different mobs! Froggy crown is MUCH easier to get - however, these mobs in BW are MUCH harder to kill. 1 wt is a BIG difference for a monk. AND, this has RM 10 insteand of RC 20 -- magic is MUCH harder to get up than cold, thus jacking up the price even more. I would agree - this thing probably does go for 10k.
Almost won this a month ago, guild was helping do mage epic, those danm named wurms hardly ever drop the mage embers.. took 5 hours the first night we were there, and we got them, but she put them in a no rent bag.. LOL and we also go a wurm scale coat, which I lost the roll on, and we came back the next day for about three hours and got her the embers back, but no coat.. seems like a random drop, danm they drop those guts like mad, how annoying. ez for bards to get that piece of the epic eh? :D
OMFG! I got this cloak, but I did not pay 10k for it, nor did i camp it. I bought it from a dwarf for 150 pp. I'm pretty sure he was an ebayer or a dumbass, but i dropped my drolvarg mantle and am now using this. w00t!
In regards to Gylton or even Azdalin dropping this, I have killed them both dozens of times and haven't seen it drop yet. On the other hand, Nezekezena is a much tougher wurm to kill. I killed him twice and felt lucky to do so without getting killed myself. I haven't tried Phurzikon yet - the only time I saw him, was right after the first time I killed Nezekezena and I was out of mana.
Almost any monk who is high enough level that he can afford to pay 25k for something will just get a group of his friends together and get this item for free. As a matter of fact, that is what I am planning to do in the near future myself. The only time you would see a monk pay 25k for this would be (A) if they purchased the platinum on E-Bay for their low level monk or (B) if they had obscene amounts of cash and were feeling too lazy to go after it themselves or (C) if they are one of those people that buys and sells stuff all the time in EC and makes 50k by the time they are level 10 (with 100 days played). Twenty five thousand platinum can be spent to much greater effect on other, harder to get items. Personally, I would probably pay about 3000 maximum for this item if I were going to buy it. I am not putting down the item by the way. It is very nice. It just isn't worth 25k.
We killed 2 Nezekezena and 2 Phurzikon last night and were incredibly lucky - 2 coats dropped, both from Phurzikon. On other occasions, we've killed them for hours without any luck.
Nezekezena and Phurzikon are NOT random spawns. They do how every wander from their static spawn point after a few minutes or so(they never lived long enuff to wander tho :P) The spawn point i will post it tomorrow as i already logged for the night and forgot to write it down. When u first get to its static location tho if nothing is there u pull all surrounding mobs. eventually u will get the PH and at that point every 90 SECONDS one of them(Nez or Phur) or the ph will spawn. PH can be anything from a sarnak to a skeleton to a giant to a regular wurm and so on. We were doin a mage epic and we killed the named spawns over 20 times. Our group consisted of a mage an enchanter for mezzing a druid for snaring a bard for fear a monk and a cleric. We fear/snared everything and cleric didnt have to do a damn thing. So if u cant get a cleric ur fine...just find some to fill the 6th spot and go hack em down! BTW this is great exp. 90 seconds in between fights cant be beat.
If this post is true, and it does sound convinceing after seeing how BW works, id really like to know that loc, so please post it, or email me the loc Leshroc@hotmail.com much thanks.
Nez dose not drop this item Phurzakon dose. Nez drops Bard epic guts, Phurzakon drops Mage epic part Burning Embers on very rare and Wurmscale coat on Rare. Both wurms spawn at same location in burning woods
Can anyone confirm if Verant changed the drop rate, or even if the wurmscale coat drops at all anymore? I was out hunting specifically for Phurzikon/Nez in BW with a necro and druid. We found a spot that spawned both of them, not the generally accepted loc by the burnt out trees, but another near skyfire. We killed four Phurzikons and three Nezes. All the Phurzs dropped nothing, and the Nezes only dropped guts. Considering people were getting consistent drops even recently, something must've been changed.
I wish I saw Nez at L46 heh. Everytime I've seen her she was an even con at 51. We (51 Nec/Mag) tried her, with getting summoned it was a quick fight in her favor. We can kill Gullerback, Gorgul, Mature Wurms in SF, etc., but between summons and nukes the 51 variety is nasty, so if you're not sure she's not 51 be prepared for a lot of pain, hope you live heh.
Rarez, at that loc I noticed that usually a Wurm or Wasp will spawn, occaisonally a Gorilla. It's kinda in the trees a little, but you can pull to the hill nearby fairly safely. They will wander so best bet is to kill all the Wurms in the area, when she finally spawned she was the 51 variety so we had to give her a pass.
Phurzikon, I think I have the name spelled right. Dropped this for us the other night. I was told Bard Epic guts dropped from him, so we tried him out. Killed one of us the first try, and the second we got him and he gated, but I tracked him down and a Add got our warrior as we were manaless at the end of the fight. Basically we were a group of lvl 45 to 48, one druid for heals, wiz, mage, bard (me), war & a monk. Gave the monk the coat. Phurzikon con'd white to me at 45.
hehe btw you got screwed this item worth at least 25k to any monk with his head screwed on. very hard to get low weight item for that slot plus this thing has kick **** stats.
I have killed this Wurm 3 times while PLing my rogue. It is suppose to have the guts for the FA quest of the Mage and Bard. But out of killing it 3 times I have gotten nothign the first time, and a the Wurm Scale Coat the other 2 times. Very nice item, I plan on trading it for some very nice rogue stuff ;)
The spawn has a wandering place holder and is not timed as I killed him 2 times within the same hour last night, I was pulling everything out of the South East corner of BW all 3 times.
Nez is a 46 level Wizard Wurm with a HUGE amount of HPs (and I mean a lot here folks), max hit is for 123, and likes to cast Force Strike and Force Shock a lot. Also tries to gate when Low on Health, although I don't think it can since it is a wandering spawn.
well after reading this post i decided to get get one of these babys for my monk, killed him 2 times, both times he was 51, so look out if your looking for a 46 wurm as the post above implys
He can gate and he can summon if he spawns high enough (very first time I fought him he did both). We dropped him 5 times tonight - cloak twice, zip the other 3. No embers at all...
I dont have the loc with me but they spawn at a certain point in BW around n600 n2250 or something like that. They have placeholders and once they are killed they will respawn every 75seconds, Yes every 75 seconds. They will remain at the spawn point for 1 minute before starting to wander all over the SE corner of the zone. The trick is to find the PH and then sit with your group at the spawn point and start to kill. In about 10 hours of camping the spot we received the mage burning embers 2 times, the cloak 2 times, and the bard guts almost every other time. Hope this helps
Myddraal, thanks for all the information, but do you still have the exact loc? I spent 6-7 hours around that area killing random mobs, but none of the named wurms spawned. So, I was never able to find the PH. Any more information you have would be a great help.
