How about changing the info on this to RARE. I've killed at least 60 of them and only 3 have dropped. This is a perfect example of why people don't renew their subscriptions.
Trying to do the shawl quest, all these giants are green to me. Yet thanks to Verant, I get to spend HOURS hunting for toes. What fun. Not.

Just as a note, Verant no longer esists. And if these are now rare drops, that would be SoE's fault.

I attempted to turn in giant toes from Kael off of the berserkers, commoners, etc. and Chamberlain wouldn't accept them. I do not think they are called frost giant toes, not the toes from kael at least. Can anyone confirm this for me? I will check tomorrow either way.
A common drop of the giants in GD and EW and 4 are needed for the first part of the coldain shawl quest, by handing them in to Loremaster Boranin (Turn left in Thurgadin and go all the way to the End, he's on the right of the podium).
You will need faction but killing the Giants and Drakkel wolves shiould attain you the faction for the first quest.
As mentioned below they are also for the CoV faction.

How much faction does handing these in give in comparison to storm giant toes or giant warrior helmets?

Take these bad boys to the Luetenant in Skyshrine for Claws of Veeshan faction. With 12 toes I went from threatening to dubions. Take the first left right after the first gate. Hes up the stairs.

Frost giant toes drop from Frost Giants in Velious. Ice Giant toes drop from... you guessed it, Ice Giants. Ice Giants are in Permafrost. If you're looking for the toes for your magician focus item, don't look here.
I bought my Ice Giant toes from a vendor for about 22pp (it's been a long time, so I could be a bit off here, but I'm sure it was less than 30pp). I noticed vendors sell Frost Giant toes for about 370pp in Thurgadin.

Are these the same as Ice Giant Toes? I killed approximately 35 to 40 of these in the last week or so and have only gotten one drop on the toes. Just want to know if these are the same and are usable for the Shawl quest.

Ummm... I have hunted so many giants that my Coldain Faction cant get any better and I have never seen one of those...
